“John is a great dog sitter. He was the first dog sitter we booked at Rover and he made us an our dogs feel really comfortable. Our 2 dogs are nervous with strangers, but they liked him almost the moment they met him. He went above and beyond with all of our requests.”

About: I have been passionate about dogs ever since I was a child but because experienced working with dogs and cats (and some bunnies) while working for the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. I was a veterinarian assistant for one year and then became an adoptions Manager for three years. This was the most fulfilling experience of my adult life, being able to help animals and the community daily. I recently lost my closest companion, Xander, about a month ago. He was 13 years old and I had him since he walked into the humane society at two months old. Through him I gained even more experience with aging dogs, medical care and many behavioral changes as he aged. While using positive reinforcement training we navigated 6 military moves, life adaptions to aging and the introduction of two kittens. I will take all this experience and use it to provide the same amount of love an attention for you furry family members as I did for Xander. I am currently unemployed and have most days free as well as can stay over night or board animals in my home. I have a very flexible schedule and am happy to work with any clients schedule as needed. I currently only have two cats in my home, so I’m able to provide boarding for cat friendly animals. I have a fenced in back yard and am usually not gone from the house for more than four hours. I also am available for staying over nights at clients houses for a more comfortable experience for everyone in the family.
About: I have always had all kinds of dogs around me in my family since I was very young and have had lots of experience handling reactive dogs I just finished my freshman year of college and am working a summer job for about 10-12 hours during the weekdays so I am only available for dog sitting and drop ins at night I have a very friendly puppy that will happily play all day long with any dog and am happy to do any crate training that a dog needs
“Leilani & Jessie M. are both very easy to reach out and will help you with taking care of your pets. They both went above and beyond with their service. Highly recommended.”

“They were amazing! I am so thankful I found them! I have a doggie who is reactive/ unpredictable at times. They listened to my concerns and implemented my recommendations to keep everyone safe. I could not have asked for a better experience!”

About: I have several years of experience caring for a wide variety of animals. I am currently pursuing my education to become a veterinary technician, with the long-term goal of becoming a veterinarian. Through my experience, I have developed strong knowledge and skills in pet training, dog walking, proper nutrition and feeding, and medication administration. Pet care fits well into my daily and weekly routine. I currently work a part-time job, which allows me to maintain a flexible schedule. I keep my Rover calendar up to date to reflect my availability, though occasional changes may come up. I always encourage clients to reach out, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs and ensure the best care for your fur baby! I do not offer in-home boarding, but I am happy to provide care in your home. I strive to maintain your pet’s normal routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. When possible, I am available for extended stays, which can provide added consistency for your pet’s care and fit well with my schedule. I also recommend that clients leave detailed care instructions, as every pet has unique needs, routines, and preferences.

About: Home Environment I live in a spacious house featuring a securely fenced back yard, providing a safe and comfortable environment for pets to play and relax. My Chihuahua, who is notably sociable and friendly, enjoys interacting with other dogs, cats, and people alike. Resident Pets In addition to my Chihuahua, I share my home with two cats that I rescued from the local animal shelter. Both cats are well-adjusted and accustomed to living with dogs. Typically, after a brief introduction consisting of a few sniffs and perhaps a hiss, they are able to coexist peacefully with other cats. With more than 26 years of experience in owning and caring for both dogs and cats, I am well-versed in understanding and meeting their unique needs. About: As a college student studying Zoology, animals and their care are more than a side hustle or a hobby: they’re my world. Apart from my academic coursework in animal care and welfare, I have more than eight years of personal care and volunteer experience with numerous animals, including but not limited to: cats, dogs, horses, rats and mice, hamsters, snakes, various types of lizards and amphibians, goats, chickens, sheep, cattle, and even invertebrates such as tarantulas and scorpions. Rest assured, I’ll never discriminate against your furry pal! I have experience giving oral medication, both liquid and pill, as well as insulin injections and subcutaneous fluids. I also have experience caring for elderly animals — like my 18 year old cat, Maya! I can provide feeding, brushing, hoof care, walking, exercise, medication, play time, turning out, litterbox cleaning and much more! I have a driver’s license and my own transportation, and my hours and pay are flexible. I am willing to drive 60-90 minutes depending on needs. As mentioned prior, I have extensive prior experience volunteering at various shelters, vets and farms assisting with animal care, as well as my own personal experience caring for a diverse array of pets. I am happy to gather recommendations from organizations I work with. While caring for your pet or pets, I will regularly keep in contact with you and update you with both text and photos (if desired), along with keeping a dedicated spreadsheet of feeding/watering/grooming times and overall health to guarantee your peace of mind. I am capable of providing pet care across a flexible schedule. I can provide early care from 6-9 AM in the morning and any time after 4:20 PM on weekdays, as well as 24 hour care on weekends and overnight stays if needed. I am able to care for pets in a wide variety of ways thanks to expensive experience. Walking, feeding, litter-box cleaning, playtime, as well as insulin/subcutaneous fluid injections are all possible. I can also administer medication orally. Daily checkups as well as overnight stays are both possible.
About: I am an emergency nurse 2 days a week and a mom to 2 crazy girls full time. My availability on the weekends can vary because of my nursing job. I’m available early mornings and late evenings if needed, and I have Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 8-4:30 wide open! I’ve had a dog my entire life and currently have a 7 year old rescue! I absolutely love dogs and any other animals. I’m looking for another way to make money while doing something I love. I will treat all animals as if they are my own. I would love to be your helping hand in taking care of your fur babies! I cannot wait to get to know you and all of your animals. I work 2 days a week and have 2 small children but I would love to spend my free time caring for your fur babies! I have a dog of my own and love spending my time with him. I love long walks or even just dropping in to ensure your loved ones are fed and comfortable! I am very good with all types of dogs no matter the size! I have personal experience with dogs who are food or toy aggressive so those will not bother me. I am comfortable with crating dogs if needed and doing whatever is needed to keep your animals safe

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
