“Savana watched our chihuahua, TJ, for 8 nights when we were on vacation. TJ is very wary of new people, and takes a while to warm up. Savana’s patience with him paid off and they soon became buddies! TJ became her little shadow and we were able to enjoy our vacation with no worries or anxiety about anything! We so appreciate Savana taking such good care of our baby, and for sending us lots of pics and updates. We also appreciate her taking care of the house for us. Savana will definitely be our only choice to dog sit TJ from now on!”

About: Currently, I care for my own cat and provide weekday care for another dog in my home. I also dog-sit for a neighbor’s dog who is fearful and aggressive towards others. I’ve been able to build trust with him by being patient and calm. Happy to build a relationship with your pet/s as well! I also grew up caring for two cocker spaniels and a cockatiel. I work part-time as a farmers market sales person and also do remote website work from home. My flexible schedule allows me plenty of availability to care for and assist with pets. “After a past experience with a less than stellar dog sitter, we were very concerned about leaving Tikka, our 15 year old Malti-poo for 12 days but in Sarah's care, she was absolutely fine! From the first meet and greet when Tikka, who is normally a bit aloof in the beginning, climbed onto the couch with Sarah I felt that she would be in good hands. Throughout our trip (starting before our plane even took off) Sarah emailed with updates and photos letting us know how our pup was doing. Quite a few of our neighbors, in our building and neighborhood, made a point of telling me that they had met Sarah, how much they liked her and that it was clear that Tikka was in good hands. The real proof of what good care Sarah took of Tikka was when we arrived home to find Tikka fast asleep on the couch, close to where Sarah was sitting. While happy to see us, Tikka was not frenetic or upset, as she sometimes gets when left alone even for just a few hours. We hung out and chatted with Sarah before she departed and Tikka happily climbed onto the back of the couch behind Sarahto rest. Clearly she both liked and trusted Sarah! We are thrilled that we found someone that both we and more importantly our dog, like and trust, for future dog sitting. We wholeheartedly recommend Sarah!”

About: I have been a pet lover since I was a baby. I grew up with dogs, cats, and rabbits. As an adult, I work in special education, have a daughter of my own, three cats, and many fish! I grew up with dogs, and absolutely love all animals. Over the past 20 years, I have pet sat in my home or in the clients home, and I am open to whichever feels more comfortable for you. I am available for dog walking, boarding/overnight visits and day sitting! I work part time, and love to fill my extra time with animals. I am available for boarding and drop ins any day of the week. I can crate if needed, but also allow animals on couches and beds, if they want snuggles!

About: I have volunteered at a few animal shelters, including Pet's Alive in Middletown, NY. When I volunteered there, dogs were divided into green, yellow, and red. Green meaning that the dog was friendly and easier to handle, red meaning that only certain people could handle them, and yellow was a midway point. Throughout my time there, I was able to work my way up to yellow, which meant that I could work with the dogs that weren't always easy to handle. In my home life, I had a Treeing Walker Coonhound named Annie! We grew up together, and it often felt like she was my second sister. At a very young age, I had to learn how to safely walk a very strong, passionate, excited, and fast hound. Towards the last two years of her life, I made it my priority to make sure Annie was as comfortable as possible. This meant taking her outside often because of her incontinence, as well as helping her up the stairs if she needed help. Since then, I have looked after the dogs of many friends and family, and I'm excited to meet yours! I work from home, and I make my own schedule, so I'm very flexible! The only times I would most likely not be able to care for your pets in over night stays would be the day before a holiday and the holiday (example: Christmas Eve and Christmas.) For those who need a caretaker during odd hours that other caretakers may not be able to fill, my flexible schedule could definitely work! Above all else, I want you and your pets to feel comfortable, safe, and happy with me, so how I care for them depends on their personalities, what you can tell me about them, and what they need to be their healthiest self. I'm very patient and I love how unique all creatures on this earth are - I will have an absolute blast getting to know your furry pals! As much as I'd love to board, I have two cats who grew up with a dog when they were kittens, but it's been almost 7 years, and unfortunately, they have long since forgotten that dogs exist. To prevent confusing my cats, my care will primarily be at your house and property! I have always seen taking care of animals as a huge responsibility, and I genuinely do not take animal care lightly. I also take being in your home and property very seriously, because our homes should be a safe place for ourselves, our families, and our pets.

My flexible schedule makes me a good option for last minute care. I work from home and have the flexibility to give plentiful walks and attention to your pet. I have walking paths around where I live and can spend time running or walking your pups in the woods or on a paved path. I have 2 small dogs of my own and I am happy to keep my pups separate, and also happy to let them socialize.
