“Eric did a great job with our two dogs who are on opposite ends of the age, energy, and size spectrum. He kept us well informed and sent lots of pics and videos. Would recommend!”

“Emma helped us with last minute pet help so we could still go on a trip! She was friendly, knowledgeable and confident with our anxious senior dog. It's always a bit of stress when introducing our reactive dog to someone new but Emma was perfect! Would absolutely recommend Emma to anyone needing care! Thanks again!”

“Heather was amazing! She came and met the 2 dogs and cat beforehand. Was great with communication and sent us pictures and videos of our pups! First time using the app. Heather is a Definite recommend”

About: About Me Hi! I'm a friendly and reliable dog lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I've looked after my mother-in-law's dog many times and was the regular sitter for my roommate’s pup. I also cared for three medium-sized dogs for a co-worker, including a 3-night stay, making sure they were well-fed, walked, and happy the entire time. I get along with dogs naturally and always treat them like part of the family. Whether your pup needs playtime, cuddles, or calm companionship, I’m here to help. I look forward to meeting your furry friend and giving them the best care while you're away! Why Choose Me ✅ Experienced with multiple dogs ✅ Calm, loving, and responsible ✅ Flexible schedule ✅ Great with all breeds and energy levels Let’s chat about your dog’s needs — I can’t wait to meet them! I mostly work part time so I have plenty of time, especially during week days but I can possibly do weekends if I get the request with a couple weeks anticipation I prefer to take care of the pets at the clients home Services Offered • Dog sitting (daytime & overnight) • Walks and outdoor play • Feeding and medication (if needed) • Personalized attention and updates
“Randy was great start to finish. He stayed at our home with our pups. He shared pictures and updates everyday! It made the weekend more enjoyable knowing they were happy and taken care of!”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life for years and currently have dogs of my own, so I know just how much they become part of the family. I have experience with dogs of different ages, energy levels, and personalities from energetic pups who are always ready for their next adventure to senior dogs who need a little more patience and a slower pace. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding routines, potty breaks, crate routines, playtime, basic medications, and giving your dog plenty of attention and affection. I also understand that some dogs can be nervous or anxious when their people are away, so I’m happy to take the time to let them get comfortable with me at their own pace. I’ll always do my best to follow your dog’s normal routine and any instructions you leave. I’m also happy to send pictures and updates along the way, because I know how reassuring it is to see that your pup is happy, safe, and being well cared for while you’re away! 🐶🐾 I work full time in the Cadillac area Monday through Friday, so weekday pet care is planned around my work schedule. I’m generally available before and after work during the week, with much more flexibility in the evenings and on weekends. For house sitting bookings, I stay overnight in your home with your pets so they can remain comfortable in their own environment and stick as closely as possible to their normal routine. On workdays, I’ll be away during my normal working hours but will be there before and after work and overnight. Depending on your location and my workday, I may also be able to stop in during the day. I’m always upfront about my schedule before accepting a booking and only take stays that are a good fit for both my availability and your pet’s needs. I’m happy to go over your pet’s normal routine ahead of time so we can make sure the schedule works well for everyone. 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I know how much trust it takes to welcome someone into your home and leave your pets in their care, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine and any instructions you leave as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, medications, crate routines, and household rules. I’m mindful about keeping doors, gates, leashes, and other areas secure and will never put your pet in an unfamiliar or potentially unsafe situation without your permission. I’ll also treat your home with the same respect I would want someone to show mine. While you’re away, I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are safe, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention. If I ever have a question or notice something out of the ordinary, I’ll always communicate with you rather than assume. 🐾
“Ashley was a perfect fit for us. She was able to come meet our stranger adverse dog before the stay. She was able to stay with our dog while we were away and kept us informed, with pictures. She was respectful of our space, our dog, and us. We look forward to using her again.”

About: I'm honest, dependable, caring, kind and very experienced caregiver to animals with all sorts of needs. I tend to like animals more than humans, if I watch your dogs or cats, its likely I will also take out your trash and do your dishes because I'm like that. I'm currently retired, however I travel quite a lot, but when I'm not travelling, I have 100% availability 7 days a week and all hours. Pets tend to do well with routine, thus I would stay on whatever your pet's routine usually is... if your dog is active that is a +++ as we rarely sit at home and do nothing, but oif your pet likes to just be home then we can do that as well.
About: I have managed a boarding facility for the last 8 years. I decided that our fur babies need a lot more attention. I have bathed pups, done nails, given meds including insulin, built bonds with fearful dogs with patience and time. I have always owned senior animals so I do well with our senior fur babies as well with gentle loving care. My life has evolved around pet care. I have worked 60+ hours a week at a boarding facility. So I can be available 24 hours a day to keep strictly to your pet care routine. Routines are important with our fur babies I will make sure your pups and cats are fed on time. Taken out regularly and clean up where ever they do potty. I will play with them outside or inside so they get both physical stimulation and love on them for the emotional and mental stimulation
“Mack is professional, prompt, reliable, and trustworthy. He kept our home neat, ran the dishwasher, and even put the bed linens and used towels in the laundry. Mack took Jameson on walks and sent daily updates, which is always comforting. It was great knowing that Jameson didn’t have to go stay somewhere else, but could stay in his own routine at home. I HIGHLY recommend Mack. I convey this to ALL my friends. Don’t ever worry or stress over planning a vacation. Just contact Mack!”

Absolutely wonderful experience! Melissa was thorough, kind and trustworthy! My dog has seizures, Melissa was able to be with her and medicate her so we could enjoy a nice family vacation while knowing our fur babies were being cared for! She was aware of Lucy’s condition and gave extra care and attention to her! Would hire again, 100percent!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gaylord walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gaylord maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gaylord choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
