“Brittany took great care of my 2 cats while we were away. She was always on time for the drop in visits, took great photos and made sure the kitties were well cared for. It gave me great relief to know they were in good hands while we were gone. Hope to have Brittany care for them again.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals for around 3 years now. 2 years being with family and friends relying on me to watch, feed, and walk their animals. I have worked in an animal hospital around a year now! I am currently working full time, so I will have open availability as of right now, and plenty of time to spend with your fur babies! I have a big yard and a room in my house just for pups! In the room there is different size crates, bowls, and many toys! I can easily crate your dog in the room or outside.
About: I have taken care of dogs for the past 5 years, including a chihuahua of my own and my family’s dogs. I have experience raising puppies and caring for senior dogs as well. Even though every dog is different, I am able to provide adequate care and attention to every fur baby that I have the privilege of looking after. I am currently a student and have plenty of down time when I am not at school. This includes Fridays and Weekends and I can be pretty flexible with time! I keep frequent communication with pet owners, I’m able to accommodate to a dog needs, and am pretty knowledgeable about dog behavior to know their needs.
“I am so happy I found Trish on Rover! I had used a few other sitters from the site before but was never really happy with them until I met Trish! She is very responsive when you book and eager to get the ball rolling! From our first encounter at the meet n greet, I knew I had found a sitter that would do what I requested for my fur baby! Trish was happy to accommodate my requests and let me know when she was on the way to check in on my cat. She sent videos and photos of my baby and assured me she was doing well! She updated me on what she did during her visits and asked if I she could do anything else for me while she was there. She loves animals, and you can tell! My cat usually hides under the bed with other sitters, but with Trish, she was out n about more, and it made me happy that my cat liked her! Trish is friendly, outgoing, and dependable. She is my go-to sitter from now on!!”

“Jamiya took GREAT care of my baby (cat.) She sent lots of pictures and came up with new ways to keep him entertained! I felt completely comfortable with her care and will definitely be booking with her again!!”

About: i have 5 years of dog grooming experience, 3 years veterinary technician experience, and 2 years kennel technician experience. I have worked with pets off all support needs: senior, special needs, nervous, aggressive, puppies, all kinds! I have had extremely hands on experience working in vets offices and seen any and everything! I can administer medications of all types (including injections). I have experience with dogs who have potty issues or need to use pee pads. Seriously I've seen it all. Pet sitting is my full-time job! My entire schedule revolves around these furry babies. I basically devote all my days to taking care of pups! I'm home 24/7 while your pet is there unless im out checking on other pets. Every single doorway in my home is dog gated. I have a gate blocking off my front door and I have a fully fenced in backyard. They will never have direct access to any exit of the home. I have cameras in everyroom a pet would be in. I'm never gone for more than about an hour MAYBE two hours if im checking on another pet :) I never feed any pets in view of each other or in the same room. I only allow group play if you are okay with them being around others. I have full view of all dogs at all times.
“Vicky did a wonderful job for us. Our dog is older and does not like being boarded. Vicky walked and fed him for several days while we were at the beach and she even had to overcome adversity - a snake on our front porch one day ! I would definitely recommend Vicky !!!”
About: I’ve taken care of pets my entire life, and I absolutely adore ALL animals!! In my home, we have two dogs (Phoebe and Coco), a cat (Chandler), and a fish (Brick)! Happy to help YOU and your fur-baby in ANY WAY! I’m currently a student at UAB, and I would love to spend time with your sweet pets when I can! I can work around your schedule! About: As someone who has had pets in the home for as long as I can remember, I know it is important for them to be in a loving, patient, and attentive environment and I thrive in providing environments that are such! I work from home and I’m a SAHM, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and supervision throughout the day. I have a large fenced in backyard and only two cats inside the home. I make sure that the pets that I care for have enough space of their own but are also attended to closely.
“This was my first time leaving my two cats alone for an extended period of time, and I was definitely worried about them! Amy was wonderful! Having her to check in on them definitely eased my nerves. Thank you Amy!!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life. I currently have two rescue pups of my own. I totally understand each baby has unique needs to live their own best life. I work at an elementary school and am off each day by 3:30 and don’t work weekends so I can spend afternoons and weekends caring for your babies. I also live directly next to a dog park and am happy to take them for an afternoon play! I have spent many years pet sitting in other people’s homes and am used to all different living situations for animals. I have crate trained my own dogs so can assist with that process, as well as take your baby on familiar walks and play time.
About: Currently I have 2 cats, both of which have lived with me for almost 10 years (they have traveled with me abroad when I moved) and 1 of them needs medications regularly. I also love dogs but since I live in a small apartment can’t have them. When I was younger and lived in my parents house we did have dogs, so I also know how to care for them. I’ve always loved animals and am looking forward to taking care of yours :) I work full time from Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. I am available anytime besides these and complete free on weekends. I will be very happy to go to your home and provide your pets with care and company as needed. I will follow the instructions you give me in regards to any special needs they would have or any specific activities we would need to do.

Trisha was very communicative, punctual, respectful of our needs, and she sent thorough updates. She also asked good questions at the start to make sure she had all the needed information. She was also gracious enough to feed our pet fish. I won’t hesitate to book her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gardendale. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
