“Jamie went above and beyond as Biscuit's sitter! It was evident that Jamie genuinely cared for Biscuit, providing a personal touch that made me feel at ease. I wholeheartedly recommend Jamie for their exceptional care and affection for furry friends.”

About: I know that you have many options for care. I have been working through Rover since early 2020 and would like to share some information about myself. I made the decision to take an early retirement after twenty-two years at Northwestern State University when my husband and I relocated to Shreveport and both of our children went off to college. This move gave me the opportunity to pursue a job that I ❤️ and am passionate about. I believe dogs and cats are the most awesome of Earth's creatures, and, in my eyes, are such precious members of our families. I am a long-time dog and cat owner and currently a parent to three rescued dogs. I also was an active volunteer and Board Member for Natchitoches Hope for Paws dog rescue from 2012 to 2022. During this time, I worked with 150+ rescued dogs at the site and through the foster program. I found so much pleasure and enjoyment working as a rescue volunteer and wanted to expand my love and care of these most precious of animals. As a volunteer, I cleaned kennels, administered medications, walked and played with dogs, worked with basic training techniques and leash walking, and evaluated and monitored dog behaviors and personalities for proper socialization and integration with other dogs including aggressive and high anxiety dogs. I treat all animals as if they are my own. I love all fur babies big, small, young, and old. I am available at any time and since I am retired, I am able to provide drop-in services, walks, and overnight care (for socialized and house trained dogs who are current on all shots and flea/tick preventives), including medication administration and care for aggressive and high-anxiety dogs. I have no problems with cleaning up accidents and will ensure that your home stays clean of messes. I am also a firm believer in sending pictures while you are away so you can be comforted that your dog (or cat) is receiving nothing but the upmost care and love while you are away. No requested service is to great or small! I would welcome the opportunity to help you with care needs for your fur babies! Since I am retired, I am available at any time for drop-ins, walks, and overnight boarding (socialized and house trained only). I am also able to work around flexible and changing schedules. I live in a house with a large fully fenced backyard and have a doggy door which allows the dogs to move freely in and out of the house as they desire.

About: I’ve worked with cats and dogs in various clinic settings (day practice, emergency medicine, and shelters) as a receptionist, basic groomer, and a vet technician. I pet sit more for clients of the hospitals more back in the day, but I still do it here and there and I am excited to be bringing it back more now. I am just as comfortable medicating your pet as I am walking them or making their day a little better with a visit to play! I am a teacher, taking some time away from the classroom, so I am available during the day. I work as needed at our local animal emergency clinic so some nights might be hard but it really depends on my availability and what you are needing. I love going to the gym but I can always build that schedule around what you need me for! My partner and I have a large fenced in back yard, one dog, and 9 cats. I am more comfortable going to a clients home to take care of their baby or babies as to not stress them out and not stress our cats out. I can make it work though if I absolutely needed to. I require and follow any guidelines and directions given to me by the pet parent to make sure the pets are safe and happy!

About: My lifelong journey with animals began on a farm, where 4-H and showing sheep taught me the responsibility required to keep animals healthy and well-cared for. After a 20-year career as a project manager in the tech industry, I am now following my true passion: caring for animals! I'm currently training as a dog groomer so I don't just "watch" your pets; I'm also accustomed to helping them feel comfortable in new surroundings. Whether you have a spunky puppy or a gentle senior needing extra patience, I provide a calm, structured environment tailored to their unique personality. My home is a quiet sanctuary where my two friendly Shih Tzu mixes love welcoming new friends to our secure, fenced-in garden. They will get the grand tour and lots of playtime or sunny garden naps, depending on their preference. I specialize in creating a low-stress environment for dogs who might feel anxious in new places. From senior pups needing a slow pace to high-energy dogs looking for a walk, your fur babies will be treated like members of my own family. I train a few hours a week as a junior dog groomer, but other than that, most of my work is from home, so I can spend a great deal of time with your fur babies. Dog Boarding/Daycare: In my home, I provide a low-stress environment designed for the comfort of smaller breeds (under 30 lbs). My day begins with a health check—looking at eyes, ears, and paws—a habit from my grooming training. We follow a structured routine of supervised play in my secure, fenced-in garden, followed by 'quiet time' in the house to prevent over-stimulation. Since I have two small-breed dogs, I ensure all interactions are gentle. If they are used to a kennel, I will follow their normal pattern, based on your input. I provide frequent photo updates so you can see their 'day at the garden' in real-time. For Drop-In Visits (Cats & Dogs) For home visits, my priority is maintaining your pet’s existing routine to minimize anxiety. For Dogs: I focus on a productive potty break, fresh water, and a 'sniffari' (a mental-stimulation walk) or indoor play. For Cats: I focus on their specific social needs—whether they want active play with a wand or just a calm presence nearby while I refresh their food and litter. I always perform a home security check before leaving (ensuring doors are locked and water bowls are full) and leave a detailed 'petdate' on how they behaved and what we did. For Dog Walking Walks are tailored to your dog’s energy level and the weather. Growing up on a farm, I am hyper-aware of animal body language and surroundings. I practice 'defensive walking,' meaning I am always scanning for other off-leash dogs or distractions to keep your pup safe. I also pay close attention to Shreveport’s heat; I check pavement temperatures and ensure we stay hydrated and shaded. After our walk, I’ll wipe their paws and make sure they are settled back in safely.

About: It can be really hard with work or other responsibilities to spoil your pet like you want too. Let me help! I’ve grown up with pets all my life. Currently, I have a miniature schnauzer mix. His name is Teddy! He’s super sweet and he’s spoiled rotten! He’s pretty small but I’ve kept dogs of all sizes. Big or small, I got you. If it’s a drop in just to check, or you need me to watch them for a week while you go on vacation. I can help! I have a fenced yard now and your pup will have a friend. His name is a Teddy, he’s a miniature schnauzer and he loves to play! My daughter also loves all the animals that comes to visit, so expect your pet to be a little spoiled to her when you return! I finally finished my nursing program! YAY! Nurse Beth has a nice ring to it! Thank all of y’all for all the wonderful support. However, that means I won’t have as much time to take care of all your sweet doggies. I am more than happy to keep your pet but please understand I will no longer be home all day. I have some help at home so I’ll still be overseeing the care of my regulars when I am able too. I have a fenced in back yard and a sunroom that’s heated and cooled! They are also allowed in my home and on furniture unless otherwise notified!

“Alyssa responded super fast to our request for a same day booking. Her and her husband took great care of our pups and I'd say she's one of the best pup sitters in the area.... we have used another while passing through. Will definitely contact her again when in the area!”

About: Pet sitting is awesome because I want to spend time with as many wonderful pets as I can. I'll treat them just as well as I would like my pets to be treated since I know how important they are. Prior to Good Dog, I would pet sit for family, friends and neighbors. They deserve the best care even the little rambunctious ones. I have been working and volunteering in pet care for years. Interacting with any animal makes me happy but bunnies will always have a special place in my heart. Regardless of whether they have fur or scales I treat my pets, and other’s pets as family members who need just as much love and emotional care as they do physically. Thank you for this opportunity
