“Audrey was great!! One of our boys can be a little finicky and nervous, and she was so patient and he settled in so well with her! She sent plenty of pictures and kept me updated. Most importantly: our boys were perfectly happy and loved on!”

“Our kitty Jimmy really loved Morgan, and she took good care of him while she stayed at our house for three nights. Nights. We really appreciated the frequent pictures and reports.”

“Jessica was exceptional. On time, great communicator, neat and tidy in my house, and so kind. My dog Luca loves her. I felt so at ease leaving him with her! And I am a neurotic dog dad lol.. She’s just the best!!”

“Our dog and cat were well cared for by Virginia and her family. It’s was nice to not worry during our vacation. Our dog stayed at her home and she is exhausted 💤 after spending time with her kids 🤣 We’ll definitely ask her to care for our pets in the future! 😆”

“We are so thankful to have found Karolina! From the moment we met her, we could tell that she truly loves animals. She stayed in our home and kept our senior dog and rambunctious younger dog for a week while we were on vacation. I tend to worry about leaving them because I know my two pups are a handful, but Karolina kept them very happy and content! She shared daily photos and updates, and she did a great job following all the instructions we left her. We returned home to happy dogs and a spotless house! Many thanks, Karolina!”

“Donna is amazing!! She took excellent care of our two dogs and cat while we were on vacation for a week. She took great care of our house, walked the dogs and took them to park for exercise. This was our first trip without the dogs and felt very reassured knowing they were in good hands. I would highly recommend Donna and plan on requesting her in the future.”
“Thank you so much to Rene . We couldn't have done this without her. My husband and I have never left our 2 border collie girls. After zmeeting with Rene and the girls meeting her we both felt relaxed and comfortable leaving them in her care. We appreciated the updates and videos. The girls seemed happy and comfortable.”

“100% the best pet sitter we have ever had. Restored my faith in rover. She loved my babies and took excellent care of them. They are needy and shy and medicine dependent and she handled it all like a pro”
About: I’ve been a dog owner for years and genuinely love being around animals. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pets, especially when you’re away. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, following routines, and giving lots of attention. I’ll treat your pets with the same patience, care, and affection I give my own. I’m also happy to send pictures and updates so you can feel comfortable while your pet is in my care. 🐾 I have a rotating work schedule, but I know my availability in advance and will only accept bookings I can fully commit to. On my available days, I’m happy to provide walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability before accepting a booking. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’ll follow your instructions carefully for feeding, walks, medications or special routines, and I’ll respect your home while I’m there. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is safe and cared for.
“Our cat loved Ron! She is a handful and he did a great job of keeping her busy and happy. A real plus with Ron is that he is with your pet most of the day every day that you are gone.”

“I'm a veterinarian and very glad I found Elisabeth to take care of my old dog at my house recently! She was very communicative, detail-oriented, trustworthy and reliable -- I've already booked her again!”

“Madelyn did a wonderful job caring for our two big dogs and our cat while we were away. She got them out to run at the neighborhood dog park every day and sent great pictures. She also left our house sparkling clean! Will definitely choose Maddy again.”

“Samara was the perfect fit for my dog who has separation anxiety. Her calm, confident demeanor kept Buster relaxed and happy for the entire time we we gone. Samara was very flexible and asked great questions. I will not hesitate for a second to book her again!”

“Sara was terrific! Last minute on my part and we were able to talk it through and work it out! I would definitely hire Sara again. She is very professional. It turns out she is close to my home, so I am considering taking my dog, to Sara's day care, to become more socialized. Thank you Sara.”

About: Hello! I have had cats all my life and absolutely love them. In my younger days, I volunteered at Noah and the humane society. I currently have 2 cats of my own. They are both seniors and one is diabetic, getting insulin shots twice a day. Additionally, we have chickens and horses. We love our animals! I would love to pet sit for you! I’m super flexible and reliable. Cheers! I am a mom to a teenager, 2 cats, 5 chickens, and my daughter has horses. We are a animal loving family!! I work mostly from home, so I have flexibility to do drop in visits throughout the day. I love animals and thought this would be a great way to meet some new furry friends! I am flexible to your pets needs. I am happy to feed, play with, clean litter box, and give lots of pets! Just let me know what is wanted and I will do it!
“We like Matthew and were very pleased with the care he provided for our 2 dogs and our home while we were traveling out of the country for 3 weeks. Our dogs love him and he was always very understanding of their unique personalities, behaviors & preferences. He provided updates with photos throughout our time away and was very responsive to our messages as we checked in on our dogs, despite the 8 hour time difference between Washington State and the United Kingdom. We would gladly trust him with our dogs & our home again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and my friends and families. I have walked others energetic puppies and my own. I love trying to teach them new tricks and reward good behavior. I can give your pets their medicine or help with special instructions for their care. I have no problem cleaning up after them when they go to the bathroom. I am able to work any hours or days. There are a few times that I might need to go do somethings between care like errands. I have a fenced yard so I get to go outside with my dogs and play with them and I hope to do that with other dogs. I am very good with following directions for others animals.

As of October 2026, there are 908 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fredonia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fredonia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fredonia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fredonia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
