“Brooklyn was the best and took such good care of our pups! She bought our dogs toys, took them for walks, and sent updates everyday with lots of pictures. I would highly recommend her!”

“Sean was terrific with our pets and took great care of our home!! He was prompt with communication, kind and professional. We are lucky to have found a caring individual that we can trust with our pets and our home. It is such a peace of mind knowing our cat and dog were in good hands. We will definitely use Sean again.”
About: I grew up with dogs in my home for 24 years. Both puppies and seniors. I love all breeds and sizes. All dogs are adorable! I have my own pup, he has been trained by me and knows a number of tricks. I understand a dogs body language and understand if things need to be taken slow with your fur baby. I will work with aggressive dogs to a certain extent, with an increase in price. Book any day, any time (we can always adjust the times in conversation!) I am more than happy to check in and/or walk your loving pup! <3 I am always respectful and thoughtful. Animals are my FAVORITE in the world, they bring me so much happiness each and every day! They’re just so cute 🥹
“Emma was great! She’s a good communicator and pays close attention to detail. Most importantly, my dogs loved her! I felt so comfortable leaving my babies in her care and when I came back they were so relaxed and happy! I will absolutely be contacting her in the future to care for my dogs!”

“Tonia took great care of our very anxious dog, Jack. She agreed to watch him for a last-minute trip we took, and he warmed up to her right away, which is unusual for him! She was so kind and sent us many pictures and updates while we were gone. I will absolutely ask her to help us out again!”

“Michayla is fabulous. My pup has a special diet and takes medicine and Michayla always does what is needed. Lou gets excited whenever she comes to care for him. Highly recommend!”

“We are new to the Cincinnati area, and finding a new pet sitting can be quite daunting. We are so fortunate to have had AJ take care of our 3 papillons and house for the past week. During the meet and greet, my 3 liked AJ immediately. He is a good communicator and very conscientious. We received several updates, and found our dogs happy and healthy upon our return. He also kept our house very tidy. We will definitely book AJ when we need pet sitting in the future. 5☆”

“100% recommend Kathleen!! She treats your pet like her own. Very respectful of our home. Took our dog on a walk every night & fed our fish. It’s hard for us to take a vaca & leave our baby at home, Kathleen made the process easy.”

“Blair took care of our 3 dogs and 2 cats for 4 nights. She sent daily updates with pictures which we appreciated. She was quick to respond. The dogs all seemed happy. She even was available to stay an extra night when our flight was cancelled. Luckily my husband was able to get home so she didn’t need to. I felt very comfortable with her when she came to meet us and the animals.”

“Hannah was great. She sent lots of pictures and videos which we loved cuz we missed our fur babies. Keeping in touch and knowing everything was good made our trip so much more enjoyable. Will definitely use her again!”

“Katie is an incredible petsitter!!! She managed taking care of my 3 pets, including one who goes to daycare 3 times a week. My husband and I went on a week-long vacation and I didn’t have to worry about our pets or home a single time. Katie sent me daily updates, which was awesome, and took the time to meet with us beforehand. Seriously can’t recommend her enough!”

About: I have loved being around dogs big or small since I was a little girl! I have been a paid sitter for family friends for the last 2 years. Right out of high school in 2021, I started working for a dog daycare for almost a year and it was my favorite job ever! I can’t wait to meet your fur babies! I am a hairstylist and I am self employed so I make my own schedule. I work Monday through Thursday 10-7 (sometimes Fridays and Saturdays 10-5). Depending on my client schedule, I can take breaks so I can take your dog(s) out to potty or feed them. I work in Florence, Ky. I can make plenty of time for your pups throughout the week! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I know pets feel happiest when they can stay in their own home and stick to their normal routine. I’ll carefully follow all care instructions, keep your home clean and secure, and provide regular updates with photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. I’m patient, attentive, and committed to treating both your home and your pets with the same care and respect I would my own.
About: Hello! I’m Ashlyn and I have been raised with at least three dogs all my life, from Yorkies to Great Danes I have owned them all! I currently own two dogs, and have been dog sitting as long as I can remember. I am a full time teacher, so my dogs are put outside and fed at about 7am, put outside again at 3pm, walked and or played with until 5pm, dinner and put outside at 6pm, and outside again at 9pm. On weekends, they follow a very similar routine, with more breaks outside and longer walks. I am comfortable with giving dogs medication, and I am overly cautious with pretty much everything such chewing on furniture, other dogs, etc. The dog being safe and the clients comfort is my top priority.
About: I’ve always grown up with pets around, specifically dogs. Through my lifetime I’ve taken care of dogs with separation anxiety, older dogs, and very active dogs too. I believe that every dog has a special personality and they all deserve personalized care. So I will take in special care request that you know of, and also observe the dog so I care and play with it in the best way! I’m excited to work with you and your furry friends :) I have a pretty open schedule and availability! I can board on a Saturday night to Sunday morning, but I’m not available Sunday nights to Monday morning! I have a dog park in my apartment and share a dog with my sister so your furry friend will have some company. I also have some complement toys, treats, and a spare cage if needed!
“Ashley did a great job watching our pups. Communication was fantastic… pics and texts, as we’d discussed up front. She even checked on our chickens when the weather became unseasonably warm! Thanks Ashley!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover since I can remember, began working with them in my teens, and am excited to continue building connections and care for pets in my community. I have a flexible work schedule and enjoy being productive and active in my free time. I’m here to help in any way I can! Safety and trust are paramount to me. Communication with owners ensures my safety, as well as your furry family member’s. Always willing to answer any questions or concerns!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 918 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Foster. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Foster walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Foster maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Foster choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Foster. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
