“Gabriel is fantastic and does a great job each time he has cared for our dogs. He sends pictures and videos with each visit and notifies us of any concerns. We will continue to use Gabriel in the future!”

About: I love all animals. I have watched dogs, cats, snakes, iguanas, and even fish for many years for friends and family. I have also owned sugar gliders for about 15 years on and off. I cant remember the last time I did not own a pet. I enjoy being around animals and have never found one that didn’t like me. I have cared for and house sat many family and friends’ pets. I had a dog for several years that was deaf and blind in one eye who we taught our own form of sign language to for communication. It’s amazing how quickly he caught on and how adaptable he was. For the comfort of your pet I am unable to sit with your pet without a face to face meeting with you and your pet in your home. This helps him or her know me a little as well as me getting to know them. We can talk about your expectations and I can learn about your pet while I am there. They deserve nothing but the best while you are gone and this will allow me to give that to them. The holiday rate for additional pets is $25 each whether its a dog or a cat. Also any animal in a cage, aquarium, or terrarium is an extra $10 a day per cage if you wish for me to do anything with them such as feeding, cleaning their cage, or anything else. This includes but is not limited to birds, iguanas, fish, hamster gerbils or mice, lizards, geckos, or sugar gliders. I will manually go in and change the total after we talk and I give you a new total. I live in Fortville, Indiana ( Hancock County) and work on the north side of indianapolis Indiana. I am available 7 days a week but I work in the office 3 days a week for my full time job. I work from home 2 days a week and off weekends so I would be available to stay all day on those days. My job let me be flexible on the days that I work from home so if you want an extended weekend and need for me to be there all day I can do that. I walk my dog and also have a fenced yard with a doggy door. My cats are always on my lap when I’m at home. They all get fed in the mornings and in the evenings. My dog likes going on walks with me around our addition.
“Nathan did a wonderful job taking care of our fur babies. They liked him a lot when he came by for a meet and greet. He was great at keeping us updated on all the visits we asked of him.”

“Amara is great. She has stayed with our dogs for few days and has also done a drop in for us. Our dogs are happy to see her and are comfortable with her. I will continue to use her for our doggos ❤️”

“Joa is awesome! He did such an incredible job taking care of Barky and making sure he got all of the details down. Barky’s (and our) comfort were Joa’s top priority. We greatly appreciate all he did and trust him to watch Barky again!”

About: I have had cats all my life and have been the proud owner of a mini Aussie dog for almost 1.5 years. I have always had a passion for animals and actually have a degree in Animal Health and Behavior. I had dreams of being a zookeeper but unfortunately had to postpone those due to personal reasons. However, my heart is still in taking care of animals/pets, and I'd love to help you with yours! I am currently unemployed and my husband works a 7-5 Mon-Fri job. Therefore I'm available to pet sit or do walks on the weekdays! Late morning-afternoon preferred. If needed, I can provide house sitting on weekends. I can drive to your house and walk your dog around the neighborhood. I have my own dog as well, and could even have them play at our apartment complex (lots of outdoor space). Because of my skittish cat, it would be difficult to bring your dogs inside my apartment, but can do so if necessary.
“Lauren was absolutely wonderful with our two big dogs! She loved them and spoiled them while we were away. Lots of walks as well. Her communication was great, and I felt comfortable leaving our fur babies in her care. Thank you, Lauren!”

“I’m sorry I fat-fingered my address - DUH! (I’ve corrected it.). Thanks so much for your help. Ron’s kids and grandkids are in Ohio so we go frequently and it doesn’t work to take the dogs. Glad to have found Rover so we don’t have to board them. Thanks so much!”

“We could not have been in better hands than Brittney’s!! She was so very reassuring to us and our loved ones in her care. We received photos of each pet at each visit. Brittney went out of her way to make us all feel calm and cared for. She’s the best!!”

“Kris was awesome! Sent many pictures of my cat while I was away, which eased me a lot since I get very nervous about leaving my cat. She was also very easy to communicate with and responded quickly”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats my entire life and have a big heart for furry friends! I’ve been a stay-at-home Mom and now that my kids are in high school and college, I’m looking to fill the time previously spent driving to practices every day. I’ve been an elementary school art teacher and would love to help take care of your animals while I look to get back into the classroom. My schedule is very wide open and can often work around your needs. I like to do Pilates in the morning, but I am free always after 10 AM. I can work weekends as well, depending on your needs. I have a Sheltie (Teddy) that I’m happy to bring along if your pup would like a friend! He’s always up for a walk with a friend or some playtime in your backyard.
About: I have 2 dogs of my own. I’ll treat your pets as if they’re part of my family. I have experience giving insulin injections and oral meds. I’ve cared for puppies to senior dogs. I have experience with dogs with behavioral issues and special needs. I’d love to help care for your pets. I am available daily for drop-ins, walking, playtime in the clients home. I’m also available for overnight stays with your pets in the comfort of your own home. I provide a meet and greet to meet you and your pets to understand your daily routine. I’ll focus on maintaining this routine while you’re at work or away.
“Jordan was a wonderful sitter and took such great care of my cat while my husband and I were on a long trip. She was consistent with her care and provided detailed updates and adorable pictures. Our chronically shy cat really warmed up to Jordan and they were fast friends. As a bonus, Jordan’s sons were welcome and respectful additions. I loved that our cat got to interact with multiple caring people while we were away.”

“Kristina is awesome. She is attentive to my pets’ needs and keeps me informed. This time I was away for a while and she made adjustments to ensure they were comfortable the July 4th fireworks and eating well.”

“Jasmine is the absolute best!! She goes above and beyond - even taking in our trash can and bringing in our packages. She is so sweet and cleans up a little as well. She even stays with my pets for at least half an hour every visit and gives them loving. I don't trust anyone more than Jasmine and will keep choosing her as my #1 to watch my pets!”

About: I grew up with dogs: Jayda-lab/border collie mix and Scottie + Jasmine-Scottish Terriers. I personally trained all 3 to be house trained and all sorts of tricks! From “Speak!” to “Roll Over!”, “Dance!” to “Play Dead!” my dogs could do all the basics along with giving all the loves and cuddles. Now I have my own family and my daughter, Penelope, is DYING for a cat or dog and I want her to learn what it takes to be responsible for a pet (at least in part). Help me teach my daughter (who will be my sidekick if you’re ok with her tagging along when she can), and I promise I’ll love on your pet and be a reliable and professional pet helper ♥️ I’m a Stay-At-Home-Mom and Professional Photographer with my own business so flexible is my middle name! I like to fill my pet schedule during the hours my daughter Penelope is home if I can so she can learn the ropes of pet care in preparation for us getting our own pet soon. My schedule may change week to week depending on my other family member’s needs, but I love having a regular routine with regular clients ♥️ I step into your world and try to provide my services in the same way that you would. From walking them, playing with them, making sure they have food/water, your pet will be well loved while you’re away. I love to bring little treats to connect with them in my own way (with your permission of course) ♥️

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fortville. On Rover:

- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
