“Bobbi was amazing and one of a kind. I have no worries when she watched my baby boy. She kept me updated with photos, open communication, and shared videos throughout the few days which made my mama's heart worry less. I will not hesitate to rebook her. I joked that I wanted to stay because of her welcoming, sweet presence. Absolutely genuinely will rebook Bobbi. Chance will be so happy to come play with her 2 little lovely girls again!”
“Heather and her family immediately put me at ease. I knew Brady would be in great hands! She sent the sweetest pictures of Brady. He was happy and healthy when I picked him up. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you!”
“My liv had the best time here! She got to play with new friends and was extremely well cared for. I got a lot of updates and photos throughout her stay which made me feel really happy with my choice in letting her stay with these lovely people!”
About: We have been married for 37 years and we have always had a dog. Georgie, our Cavapoo,is our fur baby. He’s a spayed 4 year old playful male. We live very close to a dog park where we take him to play often. We have a fenced yard and an acre and a half of green space. My wife and I are retired. We are up till around 11 at night and wake around 8:30. After coffee, we usually play some tennis or lounge by our pool. We take our Cavapoo to the local dog park for outdoor playtime in the evening when the temperature is cooler. We also play indoors through out the day. We sit down to watch tv around 8:00 and Georgie is usually on a lap snoozing. Our home is a non smoking home with CO2/smoke detectors in every room, basement and top floor. Those are all linked so if one goes by off they all go off. The yard is fenced due to a swimming pool. It will be covered in October with a cover that supports my weight. We are in a rural area with deer, squirrels, and various other wildlife. Our children are all adult and we are empty nesters at this point. We are currently not watching our grand sons, though they do drop in to visit.
“Krista was super helpful even with my request being last minute. Kept us updated on the status of our two pups the entire time! Couldn’t have asked for more! Definitely recommend!”
“Anton took great care of Murphy, our cat while we were away for a few days. From drop off until pickup everything went smoothly. We really enjoyed the daily updates and pictures of Murphy. We will definitely book with him again in the future!”
“This is the second time our Pups have stayed with Lisa- and we continue to be in awe of her. She’s so incredibly patient and kind with our boys- and honestly treats them like they’re her own. We’ve learned with our two visits- that we don’t have to stress about whether or not our boys are being taken care of— not only does Lisa provide updates about their day, she even sends pics/videos. The boys always seem so happy and stress-free, which definitely allows us to feel the same. Lisa truly is a gift! So happy we’ve found her.”
“Sarah was very nice and her dog Charlie was very good with my dog, Lester! Lester loved walking multiple times a day with them and the one-on-one attention he got while we were away. Sarah was great with daily updates and sent loads of pictures of Lester’s day. I will definitely be booking with her again for our next trip!”
“My dog had a better vacation than I did! I received photos and a video showing him having a great time and we definitely found his second home. I know he's looking forward to my next vacation!”
“Stephen and his daughter were incredible - we are so glad we booked with them and will again if we need to board our cats! Even before drop-off, I needed to change the date and time twice, and Stephen was extremely accommodating and understanding. He and his daughter gave our cats lots of attention. I think they are better brushed than when they are with us. Stephen sent photos and updates twice during our 6-day trip, and I'm sure would have sent more of I had asked.”
“Jenny is great! We booked her for our baby boy who is a big baby and she did great with him. She sent pictures of him and checked in. She was wonderful very nice and kind. I have officially found our dog sitter she willl be the only one from now on who will watch our fur baby. First we was kinda nervous because any time we go away Tyson won’t eat until we come back but Jenny got him to eat.Thank you so much Jenny your the best”
“We travel frequently and so happy to have found Amy and Patrick to add to our list of dogsitters! They are both so kind and welcomed our dog into their home! They provided pictures and updates frequently! Our dog always looked happy playing or walking! We will definitely be booking again!”
“Alexis was very easy to work with and communicated well with us. She took great care of our dog while we were away and updated us with texts and photos. We would definitely recommend her! Her kids were an added bonus for our dog to cuddle and play with!”
“Carrie took great care of our socially awkward dog. Phoebe and our dog Pebble were best buds for the week and it helped Pebble adjust to a new home. Carrie updated us every day and multiple times a day. This was our first time leaving our dog and the experience gave us the confidence to be able to do it again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fortney home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fortney.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Fortney sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
