“Donna (and her sweet husband John) iss everything the reviews said! They took care of our 5 dogs like their own babies and were amazing house sitters too! They will definitely be our go-to sitters from now on!”

“I was a little apprehensive having somebody stay at the house for a week while we weren’t home to take care of our two fur babies, but I’ve gotta say it was the best decision we could’ve ever made. He was super attentive and the communication was exceptional! We will definitely be using him again.!!! He left the house tidy, and I feel in my soul that our dog and cat were taken care of the same way they would have if we have been home!”

About: I've got multiple years of experience handling a highly anxious dog that can be dog selective during high stress situations. I was the one primarily training my family's two dogs, as well as the one taking them out on as many walks as I was able. I have multiple years worth of experience with senior dogs that had arthritis and who needed to have their food prepped especially for easier eating. I'm currently a student at the University of Georgia and currently looking into part time summer positions, however my schedule is very flexible with daily check-ins and overnight stays during both the week and weekend are very doable. During check-ins, outside of ensuring food and water are available, I would make sure to spend time playing and hanging out with any dog and if I have time to take them on a walk I will. For overnights, I would do the same thing with the only difference being the amount of time I'd be able to spend with the dog.
“Ava provided house sitting for our pets and provided excellent service. She was flexible when our plans changed last minute, and took great care of our fur family members, including one sweet special needs kitty. We are so very grateful for Ava!!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for about 5 years now, from dogs to frogs! Some of my own and some from others I give each animal the love and care that they deserve. I love being outdoors in any climate whether that be hiking, jogging, or simply sitting in a field. I’d be more than happy to burn some energy with your fur baby! I work part time during the night which leaves lots of free time during the mornings to walk, feed, and check in on your pets. I occasionally have classes during the week, so I’ll already be up bright and early! I will provide your pets with loving attention, frequent walks and bathroom breaks, even playtime. I am sure to create a safe environment for your fur babies, if that means a mini play date or introduction session before sitting I am down for it all. I will stay loyal to the given instructions with proper feeding times and administer medication if/when needed.
“Samantha did a great job watching our stubborn English Bulldog. She’s reliable and gave us peace of mind while we were gone for 8 days. Our pup has some behavioral quirks but Samantha was patient and did not have any issues caring for her. We came back to a calm and relaxed pup. Our home was also left clean. Thank you Samantha!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Sahara! This was the very first time I left my dogs with someone outside of my immediate family, so I was naturally nervous. From the moment I left for vacation, she made me and my fur babies feel completely at ease. She was caring, reliable, attentive, and treated my dogs like they were her own. Thank you!!!!!!”

“We Loved having Kimmie take care of our fur baby! What a peace of mind knowing someone was there tending to all her needs! We will use her again next time we need someone to watch our girl! Thank you!”

About: I have taken care of all kinds of animals so friends and family have relied on me over the years. Also, I have raised four children and many pets. I create my own schedule so reach out and we can make a time that works for you. I’m flexible. Holidays included as well as Christmas Native to the area. I have experience with many different types of animals over the years and I have four grown children and a grandchild so I have seen a lot. I’m happy to help so reach out.
“As first-time Rover users, we were initially nervous, but Taryn immediately set our minds at ease. She warmly suggested a meet-and-greet to ensure it was a good fit for us and our pets. While we were away, Taryn was excellent with communication, checking in upon arrival and sending regular photos and updates. Coming home was a delight; our house was spotless, our dogs were happy, fed, and well-exercised, and Taryn had even thoughtfully started a load of household linens in the wash. We have no doubt our animals adored her and received the very best care. We will absolutely be asking Taryn to return!”

“Mallory was very friendly, and my cats loved her. She took great care of our house while we were gone and brought in packages that arrived. She sent photos and videos of the kitties, and she was easy to communicate with. I will definitely ask her to petsit again.”

About: Hi I’m Liz and I absolutely love animals! When I was younger I was always wanting to help out any animal I could find. I grew up with cats and a dog but once I got married my husband was allergic to cats so I never got to own my own cat. But I foster dogs on the side! I don’t work with any agencies, I just help certain life or death situations or senior pups who were denied proper care. I currently own 7 dogs ranging from all ages puppy to senior. I also own what most people call “difficult” breeds Akitas, Shibas, huskies, German Shepherds, Pomeranians, and Samoyed! I have a few puppies in training at my house and would love to share my knowledge of dogs with others! If you have training questions I’d love to help you and get you on the right track! I can’t wait to meet your pup! I’m currently working full time but I get off at 3-4pm each day and I am off Saturday and Sunday. I have a lot of wiggle room and would love to accommodate any way I can! I want to care for your pet in the same manner you do! I want your pet to feel like I am a second care human they are close and comfortable with. I will follow your instructions to a “T” so they aren’t left missing you too much! Right now I will only be offering your home for services but maybe some day mine as well :)
About: I have a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, and Associates degree in Science and have cared for other peoples pets since I was 17 (August, 3 2026 I'll be 22) besides caring for my parents dogs and cats. I have expireance with special care needs like diabetic pets who need to be given insulin shots, elderly dogs with oral pills they would rather not take, and bouncing puppies who need to let out alot of energy. I also have owned many animals since I was little with minimal parental help. These animals include dogs, cats, snakes, mice, rats, fish, birds, spiders, and frogs. I have experience in highschool vet care and college lab and field experience in herpetology, ornithology, and ictheology. Your fur babies will love spending their time with me when you can't be there. I just graduated college and would love to make money doing somthing I'm good at; careing for animals. Since I just graduated and don't have another job currently I'm free at most times and would love to be of service to you. I will give my undivided attention to make sure your animal is happy and well cared for. I can take your dog to the dog park, and if you want I can bring my dog over for them to play. Dog/cat's needs and feed schedules can be precise. When I was caring for my aunts Diabetic cat I had to feed half of a 1/4 cup give him his insulin shot then feed the other half, this had to happen at 6am and 6pm exactly. The shot had to go into his opposite hip every time (left morning, right afternoon). I hope to offer your pet similarly the best care imaginable.
“Alanna is so good with Murphy! I think their energy levels match each other! Alanna is very active and is always doing fun activities with Murphy! I look forward to having Alanna back!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Savanna is truly exceptional, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. My terrier mix, Sophie, has significant anxiety, and finding someone I could trust with her was not easy—but Savanna exceeded every expectation. Savanna stayed with Sophie in her own home, where Sophie feels safest and most comfortable, and that made all the difference. Her patience, compassion, and genuine understanding of anxious animals was evident from the start. Sophie absolutely adores Savanna, which speaks volumes—she doesn’t warm up to just anyone. Savanna is incredibly sweet, caring, attentive, and clearly a true animal lover. She treated Sophie as if she were her own, paying close attention to her needs and ensuring she felt secure, loved, and calm the entire time. I had complete peace of mind knowing Sophie was in such capable and loving hands. If you are looking for someone who goes above and beyond, especially for pets who need extra reassurance, Savanna is amazing at what she does. We are so grateful to have found her, and Sophie can’t wait to see her again!

Savanna was an excellent sitter for us! She took great care of our home and our pets were healthy and bright upon our return. She gave our senior dog her meds and was great with communication and following instructions. We will definitely be using her services again in the future. 10/10 reccomend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Lamar walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Lamar maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Lamar choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
