About: I’ve been caring for pets for about 5 years now, from dogs to frogs! Some of my own and some from others I give each animal the love and care that they deserve. I love being outdoors in any climate whether that be hiking, jogging, or simply sitting in a field. I’d be more than happy to burn some energy with your fur baby! I work part time during the night which leaves lots of free time during the mornings to walk, feed, and check in on your pets. I occasionally have classes during the week, so I’ll already be up bright and early! I will provide your pets with loving attention, frequent walks and bathroom breaks, even playtime. I am sure to create a safe environment for your fur babies, if that means a mini play date or introduction session before sitting I am down for it all. I will stay loyal to the given instructions with proper feeding times and administer medication if/when needed.
“I could not recommend Alexis more highly. She took great care of my dog and cat while I was away and sent me daily updates and pictures. She is caring and professional and I will definitely be using her services again.”

“Donna (and her sweet husband John) iss everything the reviews said! They took care of our 5 dogs like their own babies and were amazing house sitters too! They will definitely be our go-to sitters from now on!”

“Jesse was an incredible sitter for our 18 year old Chihuahua with daily Medication needs!! It was Rocco’s first Rover experience and when we came home from date night, Rocco was CALM, rested and HAPPY. :) He’s a VERY VERY PICKY CUSTOMER so JESSE made this worried Dog Mama Very RELIEVED and Thankful! We Will BOOK AGAIN!”

“Kaitlyn did an amazing job caring for my three big dogs. She was incredibly kind, considerate, and attentive throughout the entire time she watched them. She sent frequent updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind and showed how well my dogs were being cared for. Managing three high-energy dogs is not an easy task, but Kaitlyn handled them wonderfully. When I returned home they were happy, comfortable, and clearly well loved. It’s obvious that she truly cares about animals and treats them like her own. I would absolutely trust her again to care for my babies!”

“Samantha did a great job watching our stubborn English Bulldog. She’s reliable and gave us peace of mind while we were gone for 8 days. Our pup has some behavioral quirks but Samantha was patient and did not have any issues caring for her. We came back to a calm and relaxed pup. Our home was also left clean. Thank you Samantha!”

About: I've got multiple years of experience handling a highly anxious dog that can be dog selective during high stress situations. I was the one primarily training my family's two dogs, as well as the one taking them out on as many walks as I was able. I have multiple years worth of experience with senior dogs that had arthritis and who needed to have their food prepped especially for easier eating. I'm currently a student at the University of Georgia and currently looking into part time summer positions, however my schedule is very flexible with daily check-ins and overnight stays during both the week and weekend are very doable. During check-ins, outside of ensuring food and water are available, I would make sure to spend time playing and hanging out with any dog and if I have time to take them on a walk I will. For overnights, I would do the same thing with the only difference being the amount of time I'd be able to spend with the dog.
About: I’m a fun loving dog sitter. I love playing with dogs, walking with them, and giving them tummy rubs. Being lazy is another quality I’m good at when me and the dog(s) don’t have anything better to do. I really do love animals. Their like fluffy teddy bears. Dogs deserve all the love and attention in the world. Weather they act crazy or not If the dog misbehaved then I would lightly pop it on the nose and say no but if the dog was nice then I’d give it tummy rubs
“It was great having Tyler watch our two chocolate labs in our home. Everything went smoothly and the dogs were happy! Will definitely use Tyler again and hope he will become our regular fur baby sitter!”

“Stephanie was an AMAZING sitter! She took perfect care of our two dogs, Ares & Ariel. She went above and beyond expectations, gained their trust, and quickly became one of their favorite people (and mine, too!). She is trustworthy, down to earth, and so helpful. I will definitely book with her again!”

“Ava provided house sitting for our pets and provided excellent service. She was flexible when our plans changed last minute, and took great care of our fur family members, including one sweet special needs kitty. We are so very grateful for Ava!!”

About: I have three years of pet care experience, including three years at a doggy daycare and boarding facility and two years as a veterinary assistant. I'm skilled in caring for pets of all ages, from playful puppies to senior animals needing extra attention. My veterinary background allows me to confidently handle medications, special diets, and recognize signs of illness. I’m also experienced with anxious or reactive pets and always prioritize their safety and comfort. What sets me apart is my blend of medical knowledge and compassionate, hands-on care. Pet care is an important and consistent part of my weekly routine. I currently work part-time as a veterinary assistant at a rescue hospital while completing my college degree in animal bioscience, which has deepened both my practical skills and understanding of animal health. Throughout college, I’ve also fostered cats, providing them with daily care, enrichment, and medical support as needed. Before that, I spent three years working at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I helped manage feeding, playtime, and behavioral monitoring. Whether through work, fostering, or my studies, caring for animals has always been a central and rewarding part of my daily life. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping them comfortable and sticking to their usual routines. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of playtime, and receive lots of attention and affection. I’m experienced with administering medications if needed and keeping the home tidy and secure while you're away. For dog walks, I focus on safe, engaging walks tailored to your dog’s energy level and needs. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate care so your pets feel safe and happy in their familiar environment.
“Mallory was very friendly, and my cats loved her. She took great care of our house while we were gone and brought in packages that arrived. She sent photos and videos of the kitties, and she was easy to communicate with. I will definitely ask her to petsit again.”

“As first-time Rover users, we were initially nervous, but Taryn immediately set our minds at ease. She warmly suggested a meet-and-greet to ensure it was a good fit for us and our pets. While we were away, Taryn was excellent with communication, checking in upon arrival and sending regular photos and updates. Coming home was a delight; our house was spotless, our dogs were happy, fed, and well-exercised, and Taryn had even thoughtfully started a load of household linens in the wash. We have no doubt our animals adored her and received the very best care. We will absolutely be asking Taryn to return!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Sahara! This was the very first time I left my dogs with someone outside of my immediate family, so I was naturally nervous. From the moment I left for vacation, she made me and my fur babies feel completely at ease. She was caring, reliable, attentive, and treated my dogs like they were her own. Thank you!!!!!!”

“Peyton is just wonderful! She did overnights with 3 of my dogs while we went to the beach. I couldn’t be happier! It was so nice to have the peace of mind that the dogs were well cared for. Peyton sent pictures every day, gave me updates, and even brought treats for the dogs! If you hire her, your pets will be in such good hands. I would definitely hire Peyton again in the future!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Savanna is truly exceptional, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. My terrier mix, Sophie, has significant anxiety, and finding someone I could trust with her was not easy—but Savanna exceeded every expectation. Savanna stayed with Sophie in her own home, where Sophie feels safest and most comfortable, and that made all the difference. Her patience, compassion, and genuine understanding of anxious animals was evident from the start. Sophie absolutely adores Savanna, which speaks volumes—she doesn’t warm up to just anyone. Savanna is incredibly sweet, caring, attentive, and clearly a true animal lover. She treated Sophie as if she were her own, paying close attention to her needs and ensuring she felt secure, loved, and calm the entire time. I had complete peace of mind knowing Sophie was in such capable and loving hands. If you are looking for someone who goes above and beyond, especially for pets who need extra reassurance, Savanna is amazing at what she does. We are so grateful to have found her, and Sophie can’t wait to see her again!

Savanna was an excellent sitter for us! She took great care of our home and our pets were healthy and bright upon our return. She gave our senior dog her meds and was great with communication and following instructions. We will definitely be using her services again in the future. 10/10 reccomend!

FAQs for House Sitting - Alvin
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 526 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alvin. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alvin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alvin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alvin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alvin. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
