“I had never used any type of pet service and was a bit apprehensive but Jessi was absolutely wonderful and made leaving much less stressful. Jessi's communication, flexibility and care for Sasha and Ellie went above and beyond my expectations. Jessi is the BEST!”

About: I’m excited to care for your pet! I love all animals and even wanted to become a veterinarian! I have a two Siamese cats who are good with dogs. I also have a two year old poodle named Tony. he LOVES to play with other dogs. We go to the Fort Gratiot dog park often! My family growing up raised golden retriever puppies, so I am comfortable with all energy levels! Personally, I am also trying to exercise more so I would love to take your dog for a short or long walk! Any other questions you have, feel free to ask! My pets keep me busy! I also have 9 chickens. I am happy to visit your fur baby anytime of the day! I’m happy to visit holidays and weekends too :). In my home, pets are allowed on furniture and on the bed. Food is given at scheduled times of the day - no free feeding so you would not have to worry about your pet eating other food. I am happy to house puppies and senior dogs. “I am eternally greatful for Liz!! She came to my home and met with me pups, agreed to come and do a couple of drop ins for me during a busy weekend. Not only was her communication prompt, her care and compassion was just what my pups needed. I have a nervous dog and Liz had no issues and knew how to handle her with ease. Will definitely hire again in the future 🧡”

“Shannon was awesome! Took the time for an initial meet & greet a few days before and communicated each day how it went with Dexter. We will certainly have her take care of Dexter again.”

About: Lifelong cat owner, from kitten to senior and every stage in between. Experienced with winning over shy, skittish kitties, including strays. Dog owner for 14 years, from puppy to senior, and have helped friends and family care for theirs periodically throughout the years. I also have experience with reptiles, keeping a bearded dragon for the past 11+ years, and helping a friend care for and feed their snakes. I have plenty of free time to dedicate to your furry (or scaly) family. I have a couple of evenings spoken for during the week, but if you ask nicely I can see about adjusting my availability if need be. :) I will do my best to keep your pet's routine consistent (if informed), and if staying to keep them company, I will leave your home as clean or cleaner than it was when you left. I will feed and walk on schedule, only feed them what is permitted (sensitive tummies and allergies are no joke!), and incorporate play (and possibly some grooming) while keeping them safe and respecting their limits.
“Emily did an incredible job with our dogs! She was reliable, caring, and always punctual, which we really appreciated. We came home to happy pups and couldn’t be more grateful. We will absolutely hire her again!”

About: I’ve had pets all my life and I have a love for all animals. I know many dogs through friends and family and I have experience walking and caring for a variety of breeds, ages and temperaments. I used to have two dogs of my own in addition to my three cats, one of which was a Shiba Inu - so I’m used to and can handle dogs that can be reactive or territorial. I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember and I love to spoil and care for them. You can be sure I’ll treat your pets with the same love and attention I would give to my own. I currently have a business I’m starting up so I’m only working part time, as such my availability is varied but generally open. I prefer to sit at others’ homes but would be available to board throughout the week - I have a couple obligations Monday, Wednesday and Friday so just message me and we’ll see what we can work out. As I have three cats any boarding at my home would require the pet to be vetted and to verify they are cat friendly and non-aggressive. For in-home sitting I can provide a walk, feedings and general play and care including letting the dogs out to potty. At my own place I do not have a fully enclosed yard, but I can still take out dogs on-leash, and would provide all the same in-home care as I would sitting. I do have a gate for the kitchen if they needed to be kept separate from the cats. As I rent the dogs must be potty trained, though I understand pee accidents due to excitement and such can happen. In general I offer a safe and friendly environment for your pets regardless of whether I’m in your home or my own, as every animal deserves to be treated with love and care.
About: Hello, my name is Bailey & I’m highly experienced with animals. I’ve been watching and taking care of animals for about 10 years now! I’d say watching any animals needed is my passion. I absolutely love animals! I am currently offering walking, boarding, Day Care & Drop in Visits & open to any other requests you may be needing as well! I have my own transportation and I’m a non smoker. I’m willing to love your pet as if it was mine! Let me get to know your fur babies today! Pet care fits into my daily and weekly routine whenever it is needed. I currently have a work from home job so I am available 24/7. I am currently offering Walking, Boarding, Daycare & Drop in Visits. I care for pets in my home by making sure the pets are comfortable in the environment and by allowing them to make themselves at home. I care for pets in clients homes the way that they are used to being cared for. I ensure the pets are comfortable in their own environments and that they are being cared for just as if their families were to be home with them.

About: After trying to find a sitter for my own dog, I realized how expensive dog boarding was. So I wanted to offer people a cheaper alternative. If you are looking for an at home feel kinda stay then this is it! I'm not a professional, but I love dogs. I love playing with dogs, walking them, and giving lots of snuggles. I have always owned at least one dog and have experience with lots of different breeds. I have a gentle voice that even shy dogs open up to me. I enjoy grooming dogs and making them feel special. I am a stay at home mom so your fur baby would have constant care and companionship. I have a pretty open availability and am very flexible. I can provide care in my home or in yours. I have 2 children, a 1 year old and 8 year old, so if your dog isn't comfortable around children I would have to go to your home.
About: I have grown up around and have had dogs all my life. I am very experienced with gentle/ nurturing care and can even give medication or shots to your pet if needed. I am currently a stay at home mom, so I have very flexible hours to take care of your pet in my home, to walk or play with them if you’re gone all day, or check in on them at your home. I have a yard that is 3/4 fenced and dog leads I can put your dog on for added safety. I will stay outside with them for potty breaks and can crate them if needed inside (crate not provided). Animals are treated like family at my home and are allowed on furniture.
About: I’ve always had pets or sitted pets growing up and my love for animals has grown into my adulthood even more and I want to make it apart of my everyday life. I have experience with pet care from having my own pets over the years, pet sitting and volunteering. I have experience with all different sizes, breeds and ages of dogs and I also have plenty of experience with cats. I am available everyday day throughout all hours. I am able to tend to the pets at all times. So if you have an animal with high needs I can be there for them! I have several walking distance parks and trails. I do not have my own yard but I am able to take the pets for walks. I also have pets of my own that get along with other animals, so if your pet loves hanging out with other animals then my place is for you!
About: I have a dog of my own who I care for, have grown up around dogs all my life, and have helped dog sit several dogs. I am currently in school during the week Monday-Thursday, however I only have class a few hours a day. I work 3-4 days a week, usually ranging from 4-6 hours at a time. Depending on when clients contact me, I can be flexible and work with clients needs. I have a cute Miniature Australian Shepherd of my own who loves to play, and I also have a fenced in yard that is large enough to play fetch and run around plenty.
About: I currently work at an upscale doggy daycare/boarding facility! :) I’ve also had dogs and cats and other pets growing up. I want to pursue a career in dog grooming and am currently in school to get certified. Many of my neighbors and family members rely on me to take care of their animals while they are away, I’m a very dependable and trustworthy person. Pet care is my weekly routine! It’s very important to me that animals get the care they deserve, everybody I know asks me to watch their animals while they’re on vacation because I am trustful and know to take it seriously! Right now, I have three cats and sometimes my family dog. Two of my cats are on medication‘s that I have to give them every day and my dog I take on many walks, bathe him and do his nails when he’s with me.

About: I've taken care of dogs, cats, frogs, lizards, chickens, and ducks over the course of my life, and I'm more than happy to add the fuzzy critters in your home to that list! I currently work full-time, but I can always spare time to take care of any animal! My days off of work are Wednesday and Thursday, so on those days I can spend as much time as is needed! I will give your pets all the care they deserve and then some. I follow all instructions left by the owner at their house, and am used to comforting pets that may have some anxiety.
About: I’ve taken care of my family pats ever since I was young, always had dogs and cats, I love all of my pets and spending time with them, can’t wait to meet yours and all of their quirks!! I’m only busy one day a week right now, which is Sunday's. Obviously there are days that I’m busy with friends or family or babysitting, something along those lines :) I can’t bring any pets to my home, my pets are shy lol, but of course any special feeding requirements or any special requirements in general, I love to play, keeps me entertained to :)

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Gratiot
Ella was great! We have a cat that’s not used to being left alone for long periods of time and Ella took great care of him. She was very responsive and sent several pictures each visit. She really gave us peace of mind while we were gone. Everything was in good shape when we returned. I would definitely recommend Ella!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
