“Very attentive pet sitter. We have e a cat that needs meds, and she was able and willing to smash up the medication and get into his food. Another of our cats was feeling under the weather and she communicated this to us and was able to care for her. Highly recommend her as a pet sitter!”
“Brooke was great taking care of our cockatiels! She communicated every step of the way and even accommodated us as the snow storm got in the way of our trip. Would definitely recommend!”

“Gabriel was so helpful checking in on my cats while I was away. He checked their food and water each visit, and also gave them treats. He even brought in packages that were delivered to my door which is really appreciated. My cats are generally OK by themselves, but Gabriel gave me the peace of mind knowing he was checking on them. Highly recommended and trustworthy.”

“Stasha was wonderful with my dogs! she was available to do a meet & greet with very short notice, and was spectacular taking care of them. it was my first time using a rover sitter & I was nervous but i’m thankful to have found Stasha! my dogs loved her, she was very thorough and took great photos. I had peace of mind on my trip knowing she was checking on them. ?”

“Kendric and Jana were awesome. They were very flexible and worked with me on my last-minute changes to the schedule. They were kind and compassionate with my 15 year-old cat just recently diagnosed with an overactive thyroid which required medication. I had tremble administering the pills, and was frustrated by the process and so was Lucy, but Kendric calmly mixed the pills into her food and down they went. What a relief to me. They definitely have my recommendation.”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember. We have always had a zoo filled house! Dogs, cats, fish, birds, and even rabbits. On my two days off a week I will be able to stay with your pet all day. If your pets are used to being left alone up to 8hrs I can accommodate you and do drop ins around my work schedule. About: My father owned a pet care business in New Jersey but now that I've moved to North Carolina I'm ready to continue doing what I love by myself. I plan on making this my full time job, I currently work remote so I am free any time of the day any day of the week 😁. My care is fully respectful of my clients wishes, pets will never be over or under fed, they will have plenty of exercise and play time and the house will always be clean when I'm done.
“Rey was great to work with . She communicated well and was very thorough in taking care of my dog. She went over and beyond to make sure my pup was okay while I was out of town.”

About: I’ve always been an animal person and love getting to know all the different personalities that come with them! I currently have two dogs, along with ducks, geese, and chickens, so my house is definitely never boring. I’ve also owned horses and cats over the years, and I’m comfortable caring for just about any kind of pet. I’m happy to look after guinea pigs, fish, and other small animals too. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone you trust, and I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I’d want for my own. I’m a stay-at-home mom and wife, and I homeschool my teenage daughter. Now that she’s older and more independent, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability during the day. This allows me to easily work pet visits and walks into my routine and give your pets the time and attention they deserve. I’m happy to work around your schedule and your pet’s normal routine, whether they need a midday walk, some playtime and cuddles, or simply someone to check in on them while you’re away. I know how hard it can be to trust someone with a beloved member of your family, so I treat every pet with the same care, patience, and respect I would want for my own. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs, and I follow your instructions carefully. During visits, I keep a close eye on them, make sure they’re comfortable and secure, and provide plenty of love, attention, and companionship. I also believe in creating a calm, safe environment where pets can feel comfortable being themselves. My goal is for you to have peace of mind knowing your pets are in caring, responsible hands while you’re away
About: I've been caring for pets since before I was 12, I've had Cats, Dogs, and Hamsters over the years, never met a pet I didn't like. Finally found a full-time job but I always appreciate the extra income and getting to hang out and relax with some cool pets, I work M-F 8am to 4:30pm and have about an hour commute. But I'm fully free on the weekends. I'll feed, walk, and play with your pets and if you're a concerned parent then I can happily send you pictures of your pet throughout the day.
About: I have been a dog lover my entire life and have cared for dogs since I was about 10 years old. I’ve had the privilege of having many different breeds and mixed breeds as part of my family, so I have a lot of varied experience. You can count on me for happy paws and lots of tail wags! I am available to walk or drop in on your dog during the day on weekdays! The hours would be between 9-12:30 Monday through Thursday. We currently have a chocolate lab who is 8 years old and is such a sweetheart. She loves to play fetch in our backyard and go on walks with the family. You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
