“Daniel is a phenomenal sitter and allowed our dogs to feel at ease. He’s extremely thorough and ensures their well-being is paramount. Cannot recommend Daniel highly enough!”

“Stella was absolutely amazing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. From the very beginning, she was kind, professional, and incredibly attentive to our dog’s needs. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away!”

“We had a great experience with Jess and would highly recommend her. She took the time to build trust with our cats and made sure they felt comfortable and cared for while we were away. She went above and beyond by handling a few unexpected messes without hesitation and even helping us address a small spot in the house the cats kept getting into. She’s reliable, attentive, and clearly loves what she does.”

About: I've had guinea pigs all my life, and I have taken care of my friends and families dogs and cats. Taking care of animals is a huge passion of mine, and I take it very seriously I have a lot of free time on my hands and would be available anytime of the week. If something does come up on my schedule I will let you know. I would prefer to take care of your animals in your own home and would be able to stay over or check in on them as much as you want.
“Maria went above and beyond this time to care for my babies. They love her and got lots of playtime as usual, but this time my house was dealing with an ant infestation. She notified me so that I could call pest control and helped spray and wipe away the ants she could see in the meantime before they were able to drop by. I was very anxious about the situation and she continued to provide updates and let me know that their food and main play areas were safe”

“Amber was super responsive and really helped us out over the holiday weekend. Our cat takes several medications and Amber was able to administer all of them for us. Would definitely book with her again 😊”

“Diana was very accommodating & was able to help me out at the last minute. She did very well with my two dogs & they seemed to be very comfortable with her. She followed my detailed instructions & didn't appear to have any problems with my sometimes problematic dog. I would definitely recommend Diana to those who need a caring, responsible pet sitter.”

“Meghan was a life saver! Very last minute my husband was able to go on vacation with us. I called her two days before we needed to leave and she jumped at the chance to help us. She even went above and beyond and noticed that our flowers outside were looking a little rough in the June heat. She messaged me that she would take care of the plants as well. Our cat and our dog loved her, and she took such good care of them while we were away. We will not hesitate to reach out to her again should we need to in the future.”

“Jo-Ellen is a great pet sitter, very responsible and caring with love to my cats. I’m sure I’ll ask her services next time. Thanks so much , Jo for your wonderful service..”

“Samantha took great care of my cats while I was away, keeping them entertained and spending quality time with them daily. really appreciate the effort that was put in!!”

About: Ever since I was a little girl I had dogs in my life! I grew up with two little west highland white terriers who were the most energetic loving dogs I could ask for as a kid. Later we welcomed our golden-doodle into our family who has protected us and made us laugh everyday! He’s now 10 years old! For about six years dog sat for a neighbor who had a boxer and English bulldog. I dog walked and house sat for three summers for a goldendoodle and for three years dog sat for lab/mutt mix, two pugs and a cat. I also take care of my sisters two Rhodesian ridgebacks one who is 6 years old and one 5 month old as well as my other sisters golden retriever who is 5 months old. Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I remember and every day they show me what it’s like to be loved. I am taking some time off before starting Physician Assistant school, so I have a good amount of time throughout the week to take care of your pets! I am very in tune with my dogs needs at home and love just spending time with whether it’s relaxing in the couch, going for walks or sitting in the grass. I understand some dogs may need to be crated or if there is no fenced in yard, they need to be leashed when outside. I can accommodate any need for your pets in your home!
“So my weekend plans came together at the last minute and my regular dog sitter was booked. So I gave Rover.com a try and booked Samantha K. and it was an excellent experience. First, I'm grateful that Samantha fit me into her schedule. She was great in getting to the house, getting our lab mix out for potty breaks, playtime, and back in for meal time. I would definitely recommend Samantha K. Pricing was very reasonable and the process so convenient.”

“Amanda was absolutely wonderful with our dogs and treated them as her own. She was super caring and attentive and made sure they were well taken care of. Would absolutely recommend her for any of your Rover needs!”

Brittany came through for me at the last minute when I was scrambling for a sitter & I’m truly glad I had booked her. Very down to earth and open about her availability, as well as willing to work with me when I needed her to arrive at a specific time. Helen was well fed & cared for & I’m very grateful for her!

I would have left 5 stars, however got off to a rocky start. Once the kinks were worked out she did a fabulous job. We have 3 kitties, granted 2 of them are very shy, by the end of the week, the 2 shy ones finally started coming out of hiding. I would definitely refer Clare as a sitter.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
