“Litzully took excellent care of our pups and our home. She is a great communicator. We always feel completely at ease when the dogs are in her care. Would highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life—growing up with several dogs and caring for cats for as long as I can remember. This lifelong experience has taught me how to recognize different pet personalities and meet their unique needs, whether that means playful energy for younger pets or calm patience for older companions. I’m comfortable with daily routines, administering lots of love and attention, and making sure pets feel safe and cared for while their people are away. I’m currently in grad school and interning part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for pets. Spending time with fur babies is honestly the best break from schoolwork—it helps me recharge and brings so much joy to my day. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or just keeping pets company, I love making pet care part of my weekly routine. In a client’s home, I follow your pet’s routine closely—whether that’s feeding, playtime, walks, or cuddles—so they feel safe and comfortable in their own space. I always keep things tidy, refresh water bowls, and make sure litter boxes or potty breaks are taken care of. When pets are in my home, they’re treated like family. I make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and play, along with a cozy place to rest. I keep the environment safe and pet-friendly, and I’m happy to accommodate any special instructions to make sure your furry friend feels right at home.
“Taylor was a godsend. Having just moved to Merced, I was worried how to get someone trustworthy to take care of my pup in what seemed like an overwhelming sea of available but under-reviewed sitters. She worked with my schedule to figure out a good time for sitting, was communicative and really set my anxieties at ease when we first met her. I cannot thank her enough for the care she took of my dog, and recommend her to anyone who is looking for a loving, welcoming, and responsible person through Rover.”

“April was absolutely great! I received picture updates daily and she took care of my diabetic dog that receives insulin injections twice a day with no issues. Will definitely book again!”

“Jesse was kind, organized, communicated with us while we were away...and the dogs took to him immediately. He has a great energy and we hope to be able to have him watch our girls again! Zero complaints. All praise.”

About: I've had dogs and cats (and many other animals) since I was super little, but have dog sat since I was 9. I love taking dogs for walks or just watching them! I'm super energetic and am always down for a walk. I have two cats and a dog back at my parents house! I have experience watching senior dogs and puppies! I love going on walks and taking them for a pup cup! I'm currently a full time student at Arizona State University but I am completely online so I never have to worry about leaving my home for classes. I provide safe, attentive, and personalized care for pets in my home or my clients’ homes. Depending on the service, this may include feeding, fresh water, exercise, playtime, medication if needed, and maintaining routines to ensure each pet feels comfortable and well cared for. I have a large back yard and can easily crate your animal if needed.
About: I’ve always had a love for animals, and caring for dogs has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve spent years helping take care of dogs of all different breeds, sizes, and personalities — from energetic puppies to sweet senior dogs. Whether it’s feeding, walking, or just giving them some extra love and attention, I take pride in making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and cared for. I have lots of hands-on experience with all parts of a dog’s routine — taking them to the groomer, brushing their coats to keep them clean and comfortable, and making sure they get plenty of time outdoors. Walks are one of my favorite parts of the day! I enjoy keeping dogs active and engaged, whether it’s exploring the neighborhood, playing fetch, or just enjoying the sunshine together. Every dog I care for is treated like family. I pay close attention to their needs, routines, and unique personalities, and I always do my best to make them feel right at home. My goal is to give pet parents peace of mind knowing their furry friend is in loving and reliable hands while they’re away. I currently work and go to school in Mesa as a graduate student, but when my schedule allows and our availability aligns, I love spending my extra time caring for pets. Taking care of animals is something I truly enjoy and find relaxing — it’s a great balance to my school and work routine. Pet care is something I genuinely look forward to during my week. It gives me a chance to slow down and connect with animals, which I truly enjoy. When your pet is with me, you can trust that they’ll get gentle, attentive care every time. When caring for pets in their own home, I always make sure to follow their regular routine as closely as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. During overnight stays, I focus on keeping their environment calm and familiar — providing plenty of cuddles, playtime, and attention while making sure they have everything they need, from meals to bedtime comfort. For drop-in visits, I check in to make sure your pet is fed, has fresh water, a clean space, and gets a little one-on-one time filled with love and play. I also take time to tidy up after any messes, refresh litter boxes if needed, and ensure your pet feels content before I leave. During walks, I make sure every outing is fun, safe, and suited to your dog’s energy level. Whether it’s a short stroll for fresh air or a longer adventure, I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness. My goal is to make sure your pet feels cared for and loved — just as they would if you were home.

“Max was amazing with photo updates and text messages throughout our 5 day away vacation. We could tell our dog and cat were calm and happy due to his attentive care. He was prompt in arriving which we appreciated. We would highly recommend his services and have already booked him for our next away trip!”

“Alexis C. Is amazing❗️ We meet with Alexis two times before our travel. I was a bit nervous to leave Yuuki so I requested to have a meet and greet and then a short visit the day before we left. Alexis was agreeable to both meetings. She is very flexible and amazing with dogs. Our shy Yuuki excepted Alexis on the second visit. Yuuki wanted to play with her on the first visit but she couldn’t let her guard down. We were very pleased because Yuuki is slow to except new friends. Alexis is a dog whisperer. She is very quick to reply to messages. Alexis is very sweet, has a gentle disposition, and is very acomadating . After all of this we didn’t use Alexis ? because our grandson became ill and wasn’t able to take the trip, he was able to care for Yuuki. Alexis agreed to be on standby the complete week of our trip. Alexis stayed in touch and offered to come over for feedings and walks. Alexis showed such compassion. We will most definitely use Alexis for our next get away. Maria M”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fluhr walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fluhr maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fluhr choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
