“Great experience! This was the first time leaving our lab with anyone and we were nervous. April exceeded all our expectations and our dog was happy the whole time! Loved the daily picture or videos she sends as well.”

“Our two labs looove staying at Sheri's and hanging out with her dog Sam. It's so great knowing that they are in excellent hands - enjoying themselves, getting exercise, and staying safe!”

“Kimberly was great! She was very communicative, making arranging pick up and drop off a breeze. She shared pictures and also reached out to see if Daisy could have watermelon. She loves it! I would be more than happy for Kimberly to watch Daisy again.”

“Alexis always does an amazing job with our Walter. She’s so good with animals. We especially appreciate the pictures and frequent contact she provides while dog sitting. This is our third time with Alexis and she is top notch, trustworthy, professional and kind. We will continue using her service as it gives us peace of mind knowing Walter is in good hands.”

“Buffalo has been back to stay with Monica multiple times now and she’s already booked to go again this year. My dog is medically complex and was showing some symptoms, Monica did not hesitate to get her seen and communicate with me. Peace of mind that my dog is safe and having fun is worth every penny.”

“David is amazing with dogs he gives them their best life. He is super flexible and great at updates. Hudson charges in to go there it’s so much more fun than home.”

“Once again, Sarah hits it out of the park!! We love having Sarah and family take care of our Lola. She loves it at their home and they do a really awesome job!! Highly recommend her!!”

“Jennifer was really kind and upfront about caring for my dogs who have some anxiety. She has such knowledge and skill she could manage them with aplomb and it allows me to feel comfortable leaving them with her.”

“Vaishali has helped Sunka learn to walk with her harness and NOT pull! She loves being with their family. Vaishali has been very flexible with our planning and timing. Today we had unplanned traffic problems that made our trip later than we head home.”

“This is the first time using someone to watch our dog... it was an absolute wonderful experience we ever had. Very polite and communicated with fast responses. Our dog is very shy amd timid but they understood that and worked with him for the time they had him. We felt like they became part of our family.”

“If I could give 10 stars, I would because Michael is the best! His property is perfect for dogs -- a huge fenced wooded area with lots of room to run, and when there are more dogs, they have plenty of places to play and things to play with. Best of all, Michael sent us photos and videos every day we were gone, showing us how well Shiloh, our Golden Retriever, was doing. He looked so content I was worried he wouldn't want to leave when it was time to pick him up. I highly recommend Michael, and we won't hesitate to leave Shiloh with him anytime we go out of town!”

“Deidre is the best! She took care of our two very energetic dogs for four days and it went great! Deidre is an excellent communicator and a wonderful dog whisperer. We’ll definitely be asking for her to care for the dogs again.”

“My dog stayed with Tyler for eight days while I was on vacation. Tyler was very communicative and responded promptly to my messages. I received daily updates and pictures of my dog being walked and fed. My dog seemed content while staying with Tyler and returned home happy and well taken care of. I’d book with Tyler again in the future.”

“Shalini has watched our dog Walnut a couple of times and took such good care of him!! I’m so glad to have found Shalini and her family :-) love that she only watches one dog at a time as our dog gets very overstimulated around other dogs so he was able to have a relaxed vacay while we were on our trips.”

“I had a great experience with Katie, who was able to watch my dog for a 5 day trip on fairly short notice. I request special accommodations for my dog, who has separation anxiety, is dog reactive, takes medications and has many food allergies. Katie was willing to meet all of these needs and was reassuring that each would be handled with care. Katie is additionally a great communicator and sent frequent updates. It was comforting to know my dog was in great hands, and Katie seems to genuinely enjoy being around and caring for animals. I’d highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs, and I hope to book her again in future!”

“What a great stay for our dog. Her property is fully fenced and I really loved that she only had one pet family at a time. She was prompt with all communication and sent pictures regularly. Will definitely have her pet sit again.”

“Our dog seemed to have fun time running around in the yard and made friends with multiple dogs during his stay. Connor was great about providing daily updates and we will be back for future stays.”

“Our puppy absolutely loved being with Janelle, Travis, and family! We felt totally comfortable the minute we walked into our meet and greet and he didn’t seem to want to leave when we picked him up after our vacation. We have a 10 month old, high energy German Shepherd and they brought him in as their own. We will be booking with them again in the future!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Florence
Sheena and her family really seemed to like our two dogs. I felt very comfortable leaving them with her because she’s got a lot of experience with dogs and grooming and training. They were not anxious at all when we picked them up as they have been before we’ve left them with other Pet Sitter’s. They assimilated right back into their life after three weeks of being away without any problems. And we have had problems before when we’ve picked our dogs up and they’ve been very anxious and shaking. But I think she was great. I would have absolutely no problem leaving with her them with her again.

I wish I could give a 10/10!! Alexis is amazing and so sweet! She took such amazing care of our pups! We were nervous leaving our 2 year old German pointer for the first time, but she keep such great communication and sent pictures and updates everyday!!! We will definitely be having her watch them again!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Florence home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Florence.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Florence sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
