Huge relief that DeAnna was available last minute on the holiday to babysit our two tiny, high needs pups so we could do some holiday activities. She took great care of them and we came home to calm, well fed, well walked, happy babies.

We entrusted our two kittys with Abby while we were gone for 10 days. During that period, Abby kept us informed of her daily drop-in visits, including photos of our elusive critters. Upon our return, we found them in great condition, and they were not mad at us for leaving them with a then "stranger." Will definitely ask Abby to care for Larry & Bella the next time the need arises.

About: Hi, I’m Shane! I work at our local shelter caring for, training, and adopting dogs to their forever homes. With my experience, I can assist you with any needs your dog has! I am available three days a week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday), at any time of the day. However, I’m also willing to do check-ins on my work days, as long as it can be on my watch. I will approach your pet with a calm demeanor and inviting body language. In my line of work at the humane society, we use positive reinforcement with all of our dogs, while building rapport at their pace.

About: I grew up taking care of my 9 dogs, cat and turtle. I come from a family of animal activists who frequently fostered dogs and I know what it takes to care for animals with a range of needs and personalities. I have administered medications, helped house train dogs and I occasionally dog sit my grandmas two senior dachshunds. I will be living in Florence for the next 6 months and will be able to walk pets, house-sit or check in on pets before 7am, on my lunch break, and after 4pm Monday-Friday. I will have even more time Saturday and Sunday. Safety and wellbeing is my priority with all creatures so I would work with you on how to best support your animals and provide the best possible care and environment for them :)

WOW! Words simply cannot express how caring, attentive and responsive Pati is or how grateful I was to have this wonderful human being taking care of what matters most to me so I could go deep sea fishing. We are staying in our little travel trailer at a friend's and she understood the special circumstances of trying to keep it climate controlled, understood the concerns over his age and anxieties and especially understood the way walks and loading back into the trailer can be difficult for a old dog. Plus, she understood my own anxieties over leaving him and did everything she could to reassure from lots of photos and communications to making sure I knew she would be happy to come back if we got delayed or I was concerned. Who does that? Such a special, special person and a fabulous pet sitter who I can't recommend highly enough.

Danella was incredibly helpful with our cats! We have one that is shy, one that is grumpy, and one that likes play. She took the time to accommodate to each cat. It was a big relief to know that she was checking on our cats. She is very responsive and thoughtful.

About: I enjoy meeting and bonding with each pup. Like developing a relationship and building trust as well as playing with them. Always making sure they stay hydrated get plenty of potty breaks and are given lots of love! I am extremely caring and can easily follow directions and rules for your house along with your pets. I love my dogs like they're my children and I'll treat yours just the same. I can work with any dog from puppy training to senior pups. I love trips to the lake or park and I’d love for your pup to show me their favorite spot. I work as a diver but I can flexible and can even bring the pups to work we have dogs here for them to hangout with too! We are all animal lovers here! I am very respectful and make sure rules and or the owners wishes are followed to the T. Being a dog parent myself I know how it is to leave them with someone new so I always make it a top priority to keep contact with the owner and make sure they are happy and healthy.

About: I absolutely love dogs ! They truly are man’s best friend till the end. I have two dogs of my own , whom I love very much ! I have experience in dog sitting as well as dog walking and I am passionate about providing good care and excited to meet new pups! I fit pet care into my day/week routine because I have two dogs of my own. One is a pit bull and another is a boarder collie so to say they need care is an understatement. They have the upmost energy. I will play with them and wear them out so they get a good nights sleep. With that being said we walk, hike, run, go to the beach, play fetch , etc. as much as we can. I treat my puppies very kindly , if not they’re quite spoiled. 😉 I care very deeply about animals and I aim to help when I can !

Charity did several drop in visits to check on our cat and I am so appreciative for her reliability and miraculous ability to make friends with our girl. Also her graciously bringing our mail and packages inside. It’s such a gift to not have to worry about things while on vacation. Charity is a kind and genuine person and I would absolutely trust her to care for our pets again. Thank you, Charity.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
