“Emily is very responsible, she drove from far away and even with the bad traffic she managed to make it to take care of Hazel. She treated my little girl with love and care, she did everything that I asked of her. She also sent me pictures and videos while I was away. Hazel loved her! I highly recommend her to take care of your pet.”

“Ember was absolutely fantastic with our Husky. She played with him, went out of her way to make him frozen Kings, and even BRUSHED him which is a whole chore for husky owners? She made us feel at ease while we were away and helped around the house while we were gone - took out the trash on trash day, gathered/sorted our mail, and went above and beyond washing towels and sheets. We were very appreciative of Ember and will book again!”

About: The more the merrier! I was put on this earth to love and care for all animals. I'm also experienced with senior animals, i.e. giving medications and various treatments needed by those seniors in our lives. Pet sitting/house sitting is my main priority. I value all animals, and the time it takes to care for them all, and find each experience rewarding. I treat them like they're my own. My cats usually sleep on my bed, and they are usually in the same room with me, and I talk to them constantly. I think we all talk to our pets, so they know our voice and tone of voice.

“Carmen was wonderful! My travel plans changed at the last minute and she was great to work with as I sorted out a new plan. My cat and two dogs really enjoyed their time with her, and she took great care of the house. I'm looking forward to booking her again for future travel!”

“Ronda was not only efficient and responsive, sharing twice-daily feedback about the care and feeding of our two kitties, but she was also able to establish an affectionate bond with them during our 16-day absence. We are pleased to give Ronda 5 stars and would highly recommend her.”

“Amanda is the best! Samson had some worse than usual separation anxiety this trip, but she handled it great. She took him for lots of long walks, played with him, gave him pets and cuddles, and took a lot of pictures. Samson is looking forward to seeing her again!”

“Amelia was reliable and responded to all my messages in a timely manner. It was my first time using Rover and both of our first experience with overnight visits. Louis is aging and does not do well alone. Not only did she take excellent care of my Louis but she left my home as I left it. She even washed the bath towels she used while she stayed. I highly recommend Amelia. She is trustworthy and I look forward to using her again!”

“Billy was the perfect Dog Sitter. All four of my dogs loved him immediately. He took such good care of them. He was prompt, courteous, attentive to all of my dogs. He was fantastic, and I will certainly use him again.”

“Jordann was great and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again! Our dogs aren’t used to being left at home without someone they know well, but we had limited options for this trip. She was super flexible when we asked about doing a meet and greet and the dogs (one of which is medicated for his anxiety) seemed immediately comfortable around her. She stayed with them in our home for 3 days and when we got back the house was clean and the dogs were happy, I couldn’t ask for much more than that. Would definitely recommend!”

“Laura was amazing! She went above and beyond to take care of our dog and cat while we were away for the holidays. It was clear that she takes great care in how she interacts with the pets she works with. We got so many photos and videos of our dog on adventures and playing and training around the house, we never worried about them at all. We even joked that the animals might prefer her to us because she was so good at keeping them entertained! Knowing our animals were being we'll loved was exactly the kind of peace of mind we needed and SO worth every penny. We can't thank Laura enough!”

“Draven was an amazing dogsitter. I had newly adopted a dog right before I was supposed to fly home for Thanksgiving and unfortunately I could not fly with my new pup. I was worried about needing to cancel the plans but Draven was able to watch him last minute which I was so grateful for. She and her husband stayed with him at my apartment. They sent pictures, took amazing care of him, and even groomed him for me while I was gone. Everything was clean and he was extremely happy when I got back. I would definitely recommend using Draven for any petsitting/housesitting needs. Also ask about the baking services because they are amazing as well! :)”

“Ireland did a wonderful job keeping my pups entertained while house sitting. She sent out many updates and pictures which I was happy to see. Overall my dogs looked like they had a great time with Ireland and I would definitely recommend her!”

About: I am the owner of Pets and Pastures Pet Care, LLC. I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years and have experience caring for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, turtles, and fish. Friends and neighbors have always trusted me to look after their pets while they're away, knowing they'll be in good hands. Currently, I live on a farm with four horses, four dogs, five cats, one pig, and chickens, so I’m very comfortable around animals of all kinds. I provide services in Castleton, Amissville, Rixeyville, Little Washington, Warrenton, and Culpeper. I am willing to travel to other towns. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I take the time to understand each animal’s unique needs and personality to ensure they feel safe, happy, and well-cared for in your absence. I offer flexible pet sitting services, including multiple daily drop-ins or full-time, 24/7 care if your pet prefers having company around the clock. I’ll also provide daily photo updates so you can stay connected with your fur baby while you're away. I am negotiable with prices. I'm currently pet and house sitting full-time so I’m likely to be available when you need me. I occasionally manage multiple homes at once, so scheduling is usually not a problem. I carefully follow all instructions when caring for pets to ensure they are comfortable and happy while their owner is away. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind so they can fully enjoy their vacation. I always make sure pets receive plenty of attention, are well cared for, fed on time, and given any necessary medications.

About: - Please note: On my property I have created a private fenced dog park and will pick u your fur baby, travel to my private dog park, spend a few hours having amazing fun and then travel back home, happy as can be and exhausted! - I have been a volunteer and foster of shelter animals as well as rescuing and providing a forever home for animals for many years. I worked at a shelter for a short time before resigning to open my own animal rescue. Working at an animal shelter opened my eyes to so many issues and reasons why people surrender their animals. I am currently in the process of opening an animal rescue through fostering each animal while finding a forever home for them. In addition, my rescue will focus on educating the public on the responsibilities of owning an animal over its lifetime. Opening a Non Profit rescue is what I am doing in my spare time because I have to continue to earn a living to provide for my family. Dog/cat sitting is the perfect profession for me because I get to continue to work with animals on a full-time basis and I feel this is the area in which I thrive and can continue to help with providing the best care possible. Over the years I have learned something from every animal I have worked with and/or owned. In recent years, I have completed training in Behavior Adjustment Training and The DO NO HARM DOG TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR HANDBOOK. I have the skills to know how to positively and appropriately approach animals as well as interact with them in a healthy way. In addition, I have the skills to quickly earn the trust of an animal. I am hoping that caring for animals will become my profession because I feel that I thrive in this area. Animals are the food for my soul and it would be a dream come true to work with them on a full-time basis. In my home and in my client’s home I practice what I have learned through attending dog training school as well as reading and practicing “THE DO NO HARM DOG TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR HANDBOOK.” Through school and experience I have learned how to appropriately approach animals, how to interact in a positive manner and how to gain the trust of an animal. In addition, I have the skills to positively interact with animals that may have difficulty walking on a leash, excessive jumping and much more.

“Kait is awesome with our pup! She takes him on multiple daily walks, car rides and plays with him so much that he is actually worn out (which is near impossible as he is full of energy) and naps after she watches him for us :)”

“Amazing sitter! I knew she was going to be great by the way my most active dog immediately reacted to her. They were instant friends ? Such a blessing that we found her! We were able to spend our time away from home without any worry at all. And we came home to 2 peacefully sleeping pups who usually get stressed when we leave them. I highly recommend Anastasia and we will definitely rebook her again!”

About: We grew up with dogs and have been dog-sitting for thirty years. In the 90s, we had “Pampered Pets” in Boston, then we moved to Washington, DC, where we rebranded as “Top Dog DC,” and now we’re in Sperryville, VA, with “2 Dog Hotel.” Also, in the early 2000s, we raised four “Guiding Eyes for the Blind” puppies. Puppy raisers are critical to many organizations that train working dogs. Future guide dogs must be socialized in warm and loving homes, the puppies are fun, and puppy raisers learn about dog psychology and training. However, it's still not easy sending the pups off to college. Having done many "Intervac" house swaps, now we're getting into house sitting. We can take care of your pets and your home while you travel. We spend much time at home on our patio, gated deck (squirrel TV included), near a cozy wood stove, or on the nearby hiking trails. Since we spend so much time at home, keeping to your dog’s regular schedule is manageable. When we have dogs, we rarely do things where they can't join us. We only take care of one or two dogs at a time. The truth is we enjoy the pet therapy we get from dog-sitting, and the therapists seem to like it too.

“My wife Wendy who I have known for over 40 years is one of the most compassionate people I know when it comes to the necessities of animals. Over the years I have watched her be an advocate and a trusted companion to all of the animals she has been associated with. Her love and desire to nurture them is a testament to her dedication to their well being. My heart is filled when I see her working with these animals and the joy its brings them. I would highly recommend her in any field regarding the care of animals.”

Scott & Sarah O.Star Sitter
“Our dog’s name is Barnie. She’s a 16 year old Black Lab with attitude, so Barnie knows a good thing when she sees it. Since Barnie is a senior, she sometimes has special needs. We’ve left her in the care of Scott and Sarah for day trips, long weekends and even vacations. Once they have cared for your dog, there is no need to go over instructions, they keep a history for you. They have always provided a safe and loving environment for our pet. It really became her home away from home. So rest easy, like Barnie; your pet is in good hands.”
