“Hannah was absolutely fantastic! She was on time every single day, incredibly reliable, and took such great care of our dog Killian. She shared pictures and videos with us throughout her visits, which we loved, and she went above and beyond to make sure his water was full and send us pictures of it. After having a really bad experience with a previous sitter, that extra attention gave us such incredible peace of mind. She also made sure to spend time playing with him each evening, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about making sure he was happy and well taken care of. We truly can’t thank Hannah enough for the wonderful care she gave him. We look forward to having her watch him again and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, caring sitter!”

About: I have background in the animal control field where I was an officer and also work for veterinary services within gaston county. Your pet will be treated like family here, animals are a huge part of my life. I have had almost every possible animal, horses, cows, cats, dogs, large and small, chickens, pigs, and even fish. I love them all. I do work 4 days during the week but am home the majority of the time to spend with your furrbabies. They will be let out in the morning before I leave for work on those days and immediately after I've arrived back home. I only work 8 hour days and outside of that I'm home the rest of the time. My yard is not fenced in but i live on a cul de sac, horse pasture and cow pasture and tree farm on 3 sides .. i prefer to walk dogs on a leash while outside ( just in case) but if they seem to be well behaved and trust worthy i may play fetch with them and my frenchie in the back yard , there are only 2 houses on my road so we do have lots of privacy. Your furrbabies will stay inside with me.
“Lindsey did a great job! She was reliable, trustworthy and our kitty loved her. She kept us posted with check in and check out times and always sent several photos of kitty eating or playing. We are definitely going to hire her again!”

About: I have worked with dogs since I was about 10 years old! My neighbor (in my previous neighborhood) taught me how to work with puppies, and I got to help train and keep her Schnauzer puppy named Greta! When my neighbor became terminally ill, we watched Greta for several months at my house before my neighbor passed away. My neighbor's husband let me still take care of Greta whenever he would go out of town or just to let us keep her in the house! A few years later, my family and I adopted our senior dog, Mikey! He was a 12-year-old Shetland Sheepdog with a lot of sass and energy! I loved Mikey to the utmost until he passed away at 16 years old. I have since moved to a new neighborhood and taken care of my neighbors' dogs (Coco (Miniature Schnauzer), Floofy (cat), Nala (a cat), Smokey (German Shepherd, Cleo (German Shepherd), and Aggie (Terrier)). I have also taken care of my dance teacher's dog, Gizmoe and my friend's cat (Tobi) while in college. I love dogs and cats, they are such sweet beings, and I would love to be able to take care of your fur baby! I currently have a princess job, but it is extremely flexible with when and where I work! I am able to schedule when I am unavailable for that job to be able to take care of a pet if needed! I go to church on Sunday mornings, so I try to keep Sundays to myself, but if needed I can do pet care on a Sunday! I am willing to negotiate and figure out availability for your animal's customized care! I follow instructions to a T! If there are specific things that your animal needs, I will make that my first priority when they are in my care! I am unable to bring animals into my home solely because of my mom requesting that I don't. I typically don't put the animals in their crate unless I have specific instructions to do so, I like to play with the animal and socialize with it, unless the owner tells me the animal doesn't require that. I am at your service, so if there is anything you need, please let me know! (:
About: I have been house sitting for friends and family since I was probably around 14, so for almost 20 years now in total. As I got older, I started pet sitting for others outside of my regular friend/family group, and I just never stopped. I have frequently taken care of dogs, cats, horses, birds, and bunnies ❤️ With the proper instructions and safety measures, I am willing to meet any new pets. I will help with mail and plants as well if needed. I am blessed to be able to stay at home. I am available almost any days and times, as long as I have some kind of notice. I currently have four dogs. When not inside or outside, each dog has their own crate on the air conditioned back porch(glass doors from the porch open into the fenced in back yard), when needed. We have a large yard with plenty of sun and shade. Feeding schedules vary at times, but for my animals I try to keep the time of day as consistent as we can. When caring for other’s pets I follow whatever schedule they already have set in their home.
“Jade does such a wonderful job with our pups. She treats them as if they were her own. Having Jade watch our dogs really gives us piece of mind when we are away. We would definitely recommend her and will for sure keep booking her.”

About: I treat each animal as if they were my own kids. Their well-being is the most important part for me every single day I work. I currently work part- time so I will have plenty of time to spend with any dog and/or cat that I am watching each day. I have had animals all my life. I LOVE animals and spending time with them is the most fun and important part of this job.

About: I’ve cared for dogs my entire life and know how much they mean to their families. I’ll give your dog plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away. I work from home, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m available throughout the day for walks, playtime, meals, and plenty of attention. Your dog will have company and care while you’re away. Safety is my first priority when caring for pets in my home. I follow each owner’s instructions for meals, medication, and routines, and I keep a close eye on pets throughout the day. Since I have a dog of my own, introductions are gradual and supervised, and I make sure every pet has a comfortable space to relax.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
