“Alyssa recently stayed at out house and took care of our pup Emma. We rated her 5 stars because 6 stars wasn’t an option. She and Emma got along great and she kept us informed the entire time. She took immaculate care of our place and we think Emma was a little sad to see her leave. We look forward to having her come back.”

“Amazing is the best word I have to describe Siara. My Anna did so good with Siara. My house was just as it was when I left. She took great care of my senior dog with walks. Lots of lots of love and attention. I would highly recommend her 10 out of 10.”

“I am so pleased Trina kept my very spoiled poochon! She stayed at my house and slept with her, played with her and walked her. She left my home neat and probably cleaner. I believe she is very special and I am pleased to give her a rating of five stars plus and my dog will agree!!!”

“Isa is an amazing sitter! She took care of my 3 kitties and house while I was away and kept me updated the whole time. My skittish cats warmed up to her right away! Would definitely book her again.”

“She kept on top of my dogs’ changing needs and kept me in the loop so the week away didn’t feel quite as worrying! And we returned to the house even more tidy than we left it, which was a lovely surprise!”

“Steve is awesome! We are always nervous about taking on new sitters for our quirky bunch but Steve made us and them feel at ease right away. During his stay he was super communicative, sending regular status updates and pictures. As a houseguest he was very respectful, keeping up with the mail and making sure to leave the place as he found it. We will definitely have Steve and/or Wanda back!”
About: Hello! I have 2 years of experience with dog walking + a handful of occasions where I have been trusted to pet-sit / board. I consider myself a loyal dog (and cat!) owner with a great work ethic. For the 2 years of dog walking, I walked a German Shepard — his name was Val. I walked Val consistently, in weather that ranged from 90-40 degrees Fahrenheit, up until his owner moved into a nursing home and Val was rehomed. I loved the big guy like he was my own dog - filling his water, scooping out his dog food, brushing him out, and playing fetch. I never missed a day I was scheduled unless there was a sudden change in plans (I was sick, she cancelled my walk, or an event took place where I couldn't arrive in time to walk him). Recently, my family has adopted our beloved goldendoodle puppy — Corduroy. I love him unconditionally, and so much of my free time is spent helping him get his energy out. I am a homeschooler, with all days free except for Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. For walking purposes, I am available any time it is not dark outside and not preoccupied. Please note that my price for drop-ins, overnight care, and dog walking vary by location. The closer you are, the cheaper it will be. Below is how I determine payment: 0-5 miles from my home and/or workplace = $40 per night / drop in / walk Every additional 0.5 mile is $1 I make sure everything is taken care of. From basic expectations to leaving the house exactly how I found it — if not better. If it’s not my house or my pet, then I’m obligated to go by my clients rules.
About: I'm an active volunteer with a local animal shelter, where I work hands-on with dogs of many ages, sizes, temperaments, I have experience caring for shy, anxious, high-energy, and sensitive dogs, and I'm comfortable with reading canine body language, building trust, and providing calm, reliable care tailored to each dog's needs. Pet care is part of my regular routine through weekend availability when I'm off work. I plan my schedule around providing attentive, consistent care, including walks, feeding, enrichment and companionship, so each dog receives focused, unhurried attention. I care for pets by following their established routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and preferred activities. I take time to build trust, especially with shy or anxious pets, by moving at their pace and reading their body language. I prioritize safety, cleanliness, and calm, attentive interaction, whether that means exercise and playtime or quiet companionship. In a client's home, I respect their space and ensure pets feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment.

About: Animals have always been a central part of my life. As a pet owner myself, I understand that our pets are family members, not just animals. My personal dogs receive the same love, attention, and care that I would want for any pet entrusted to me. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have more than 15 years of hands-on experience with dogs and cats, including owning and operating a nonprofit animal rescue for five years. Through my rescue work, I cared for hundreds of dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, special-needs pets, and dogs recovering from illness or surgery. I am experienced with administering medications, monitoring health concerns, and recognizing when a pet may need extra attention or veterinary care. I know that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I will care for them as if they were my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide attentive care and accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Because I spend a significant amount of time at home, your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, exercise, and potty breaks throughout the day. I understand the importance of maintaining routines and will work with you to ensure your pet’s schedule, feeding times, medications, and preferences are followed closely. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter environment, I can provide the level of care and attention they need. Safety is always my top priority. My experience running an animal rescue taught me how to properly introduce dogs, recognize signs of stress, manage different personalities, and provide a safe environment for pets with varying needs. I have a securely fenced yard and closely supervise outdoor time. I can also accommodate medications, special feeding instructions, crate training, and senior pet care.
“Valerie was incredible with our girl Maddie! She took such great care of her and we had such reassurance knowing she was in great hands. She spent time with her and loved on her and loved our girl! Thank you so much Valerie!”

About: I have taken care of pets and houses for friends and family on many occasions and would love to care for your pets while you’re away. I will be available as often as needed to take care of your pets. I can be flexible to work with you for your pet’s needs. I feed and walk my dog and my past clients dogs twice daily. Additionally, I provide enrichment play for both cats and dogs each day I watch them.
“Brendle was delightful and our 2 dogs had the best time with her. She hung out with them for 5 hours while we went to watch our son’s championship game. Brendle took them on a 2 mile hike, played ball at the park, and they were thoroughly and happily exhausted at the end of her stay. I cannot say enough nice things about Brendle! She is a gem!”

About: I grew up in a home that had many different kinds of pets- from pups to kitties, to rabbits & guineas! I love being able to give them the love that I would give my own. I have a golden girl of my own now that is my best friend, and I hope to share that love to your fur babies. I am currently working part-time only, so I have the ability to care for your babies around that schedule and what works best for you! My golden girl can be kept in her own space at home, so that I am able to provide a safe space for yours, if needed. She is free to roam when I am home, and is also very comfortable around other animals.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Five Forks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Five Forks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Five Forks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Five Forks. On Rover:

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
