“Kenan & Kayleigh were awesome! They loved Billy and Joey (miniature dachshunds) like their own and always sent updates with pictures and videos! Their home is clean and their indoor kennels our dogs loved (along with their couch for extra snuggles). 🥰 We will 100% be using them again!”

“OMG!!! I will never ever get another sitter. If I am going on vacation and she’s not available there will be no vacation that’s how awesome she and her family is. I received daily text and pictures, so I saw how happy he was.You are the BEST!”

“I was using the same sitter until she retired from rover. Found Marcia on the fly. From first contact, I felt comfortable with Marcia. Not only was she quick to respond to messages, she was very understanding and reassuring about any special care or requests that I had. Her home is clean and spacious enough for multiple pups. She has a couple of her own that make great play partners for any playful guests. Her fenced in back yard is the perfect play area! Marcia was welcoming at drop off and invited us in to get everyone settled. She kept in close communication during our trip and sent and abundance of photos and videos. By the time we returned for pick up, I could tell Luna felt at home and was having a great time playing with her new friends! Highly recommended!!!! I have found my replacement sitter!”
“I was very pleased with my experience with Sarah booking a overnight stay for my Beagle, Boo. Sarah's husband played an important role as co-sitter, giving my dog another person to add to her favorite people list. My dog and I met with Sarah about a week or two prior to the stay, to go over any of Boo's specific characteristics. Sarah's household was very pleasant, and the backyard was nicely fenced in for a large playing area. Communicating while planning and during the stay was excellent. We are booking a much longer stay in the near future. My family doesn't go away from home very often, but knowing that I have a trusted sitter available helps a whole lot. Thanks Sarah !”

“Moose has the best time with Evie and Fritz. They take such great care of him and make him feel right at home. We’re so grateful to have people we trust with Moose and will definitely continue booking with them!”

“David is the Dog Sitter of dog sitters. He made our pal Galileo very comfortable and happy. I think Galileo was all choked up when I came to get him. We will not hesitate to call David in the future if we need his expertise.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Scott, Ellen and all their kiddos! They took amazing care of Juniper, sent daily updates and pictures, and truly treated her like their own. The kids became Juniper’s best friends and were so kind and loving. We’re incredibly grateful for the care they gave her! We will definitely ask them to watch her again!”

“Candice took such great care of my little Biscuit. Was initially hesitant since his previous Rover caregiver left the area but thanks to little Charlie, Biscuit found his new best friend and twin look alike which made his stay all the best. Thanks Candice!!!!!”

“Wonderful experience, great communication. Our quirky little Bugg had a blast and came home happy, healthy, and well exercised. It was our first time leaving him with non-family and Amber & boys put our minds at ease. Highly recommend!”

“Debbie did an amazing job with our Shih Tzu, Major!! She sent us several pictures and videos of Major and kept us updated on how he was doing throughout his stay with her. He is very kind and caring with her furry clients.🐶 We highly recommend her and are already planning to to book her again soon.”

“Mary is fantastic! She took both my dogs for a week and they were cared for in a safe place with exercise, tons of snuggles, a beautiful fenced yard, and the company of her two friendly dogs. The easy communication with Mary and her easy going attitude makes you feel like you are leaving your dogs with a trusted friend you’ve known for years . This has been the most positive pet sitting experience I’ve ever had using Rover. Thank you Mary for looking after the doodles like your own.”

“Kelly was awesome with our dog. We had never used Rover before and our dog is a puppy. I was so nervous to leave our dog anywhere. Kelly provided us with regular updates and photos. Our dog looked happy and healthy when picked her up after an 8 night stay. We would definitely recommend Kelly and would hire her again.”

“We had a great experience! They were responsive, easy to communicate with, and very accommodating. Our golden pup had a wonderful time. We really appreciated the photo updates without having to ask — it gave us peace of mind.”

“Jill and Annie really enjoyed their 2-week stay! They got a lot of outdoor time in large fenced in areas, and we got pics of them while we were away. We wouldn't hesitate to use this Rover again!”

“Our dog stayed with Jessica just two nights but had a great time! We loved that she was able to play with other dogs in a nice, fenced area during her stay. We travel to the area twice a year and will definitely consider Jessica again!”

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Fitch can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fitch home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fitch.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Fitch sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
