“This was the first time we booked Magda. We were put at ease when we went on our week long vacation because of Magda’s professionalism and her love for animals and our dog. We will definitely be using her again.”

“Estefania was wonderful with Bella during her stay there!! I got lots of updates and pictures and videos to let me know what and how she was doing. I was very thankful that Bella was in such good hands while I was out of town!!”

“I can't say enough wonderful things about Ana! She took excellent care of our Bella. This was our first time using a dog sitter and we couldn't have asked for a better caregiver. Ana gave daily updates that included pictures and videos. She also took Bella on walks and provided lots of cuddle time. She treated her like family and we appreciated that!”

“Freya was absolutely amazing with my hound Darcy. Apart from being a dog lover and providing me updates of her while I was away, she gave my girl huge amounts of attention and even walks twice a day! Darcy came home totally exhausted 🥰 She’s the best! Book with her !!!”

“Louie had so much fun with Tami and her dogs Dolly and Bear! Tami has a wonderful backyard that the dogs got to play around in. Throughout our trip we knew Tami was taking great care of him sending lots of pics and updates! We know Louie can be challenging (he’s a very hyper puppy) but luckily he had Bear to play with. We highly recommend Tami and would definitely book with her again!”

About: Pet Care Experience I have hands-on experience caring for my own dog and understand the responsibilities involved in providing daily care. My duties included feeding and providing fresh water, taking my dog on regular walks for exercise, grooming, cleaning up after them, and ensuring they had a safe and comfortable environment. I also monitored my dog's health and behavior, administered medications when needed as directed, and provided plenty of attention, playtime, and affection to support their overall well-being. Through this experience, I developed patience, responsibility, and a strong understanding of the importance of consistent, compassionate pet care. Pet care is a regular part of my daily routine. I make time each day to feed my dog, provide fresh water, take them on walks, clean up after them, and spend time playing and interacting with them. I also make sure they receive any needed grooming and monitor their health and behavior to ensure they are happy and well cared for. Caring for my dog has helped me develop consistency, responsibility, and a strong commitment to meeting an animal's daily needs. When caring for pets in my home or a client's home, I follow the owner's instructions to ensure the pet stays on its normal routine. I provide fresh food and water, regular walks and exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention. I clean up after pets, keep their living areas clean, and monitor their behavior for any signs of illness or discomfort. If medications are required, I administer them according to the owner's directions. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment while treating every pet with patience, kindness, and care.
“This was my first time working with Dawn and let me tell you she was awesome. She had my Stu over 4th of July weekend and even with the fireworks and her knowing that he does not like them she spent time in the basement so that he would not have to hear them. I can't say enough I will definitely be using her again.”

“Nicole did a great job taking care of our greyhound! She listened closely to all of our instructions and sent tons of pics so that we knew our pup was doing well. Will definitely book her again for future trips!”

“Nelli took care of Rowan during Thanksgiving and I couldn’t have asked for a better home for her to spend the holiday in! Nelli made sure to send me multiple pictures and videos each day and Rowan came home extremely happy!”

“Beatrice is the best sitter i have had so far. She kept updating me with pictures of molly and how she was doing. For most of the sitters its a side thing, Beatrice does it full time and is a complete professional about it. She loves dogs, after just a 24 hour stay she told me things about my dog that took me 2 months to figure out. Keep up the good work.”

“Kathy and her family were wonderful! She asked thoughtful questions on how to care for my dog. Kathy kept me updated on how Honey was doing during her stay with texts and pictures. She treated my furbaby like family. Highly recommended!”

“Kristen was very responsive and thorough with her questioning of Zuko's preferences and needs. She followed up once a day as we agreed and it seemed like my doggo enjoyed his time there.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Fairmont
We had such a wonderful experience with Natalie ! She was amazing from start to finish and took such great care of our dog. She was attentive, caring, communicative, and made us feel completely comfortable knowing our pup was in good hands. It was clear that she genuinely cared about her and treated her like her own. We would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter!

We left our 1 year old Golden Retriever with Natalie for 1 week and couldn’t be more happy with the care he received. He is high energy and is still in his puppy phase which we were concerned about, additionally, this was his first time away from us or close family; Natalie provided us with regular updates with photos and texts throughout the day. He enjoyed all the long walks, being outside with her and found his comfy spots in her nice home. We wouldn’t hesitate to have Natalie care for JJ again in the future. Very thankful for her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fairmont home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fairmont.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Fairmont sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
