“Melissa was amazing! I was nervous to leave my dog I’ve never left her with a stranger before and as soon as I met her I know it would be good. She gave me daily updates and pics which I loved and felt at ease on my vacation. Will def be booking her again if needed!🩷”

“I’m thrilled and grateful to have found Autumn! My little dog was so well cared for, and clearly did not lack exercise or stimulation, she came home worn out😊! Additionally, I had several flight delays returning from a trip, and Autumn was kind enough to adapt to the changes. I will absolutely request Autumn for future care needs of my precious pooch!”

“Nathan and Jenna are truly "dog people". This is our second experience booking with them. We felt so comfortable and at ease leaving our dog with them the first time, we knew we had to come back again. They kept us updated with awesome pictures and videos for our entire ten days away, helping to keep us at ease knowing our pup was happy and well. Our dog is our baby, and at no point were we feeling worried about him under Nathan and Jenna's care. We heard of Nathan and Jenna from a friend, and are so grateful! It is a little over an hour drive for us, but it is well, WELL worth it. If you are looking for someone who will take in your dog, and love them like their own - this is the place for you!”

“Alicia went above and beyond to take care of our yorkies while we were gone. They gave her a bit of trouble not wanting to go to the bathroom outside but she was amazing in asking questions and communicating every day how they were doing! She sent tons of pictures so we could see how much they were enjoying their stay. She was incredibly kind and I could tell really loves caring for animals! Would definitely book with Alicia again 😁”

“Mindy was great with our Sadie! Sadie is a recue/rehome from a breeder and has never been boarded before. Mindy bonded with Mindy and did very well with her. We could not have been happier! The Sbaraglias”

“Cara was absolutely wonderful with my dog! She was extremely kind, very responsive, and made the entire process easy. She was also flexible with scheduling and accommodating to my needs, which I really appreciated. I felt confident knowing my dog was in great hands. I would happily book with Cara again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

“Highly recommend! Took great care of my pup and was very good with communication! Flexible and you can tell she loves all animals as much as her own! ? my buddy had a great time there”
“She was awesome and extra attentive since I was sending my cats off to temporary foster and their stay with her. She kept me updated on their interactions and progress in a new environment. She also sent lots of pics and allowed me the opportunity to watch them through camera footage. She was great!”

“I can't say enough wonderful things about Kim!! She was the perfect fit for my 8yr old Mal-Shi, Ella. She took such good care of my anxious little girl, giving her lots of love & comfort, as well as paying attention to the details of her care. She absolutely treated her like the queen that she is.”

About: Since I work from home, I'm able to provide plenty of companionship, attention, supervision, and flexibility throughout the day. Your dog won't be left alone for long periods and will have someone nearby to provide care, playtime, and plenty of affection. My husband has been around dogs his entire life and has extensive experience raising and caring for them. Together, we're comfortable caring for dogs of different ages, personalities, and energy levels. We understand that every dog has unique needs and routines, and we're committed to providing a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where they can feel right at home. We're especially attentive to puppies who need patience, consistency, and frequent supervision, as well as senior dogs who may need a slower pace, extra comfort, and additional care. Our goal is to treat every dog like part of our family and give them the individual attention they deserve. I currently work from home, which allows me to easily incorporate pet care into my daily routine. I can provide dedicated spaces for their bed, crate, feeding area, and food and supplies. Since I am home throughout the day, I can maintain consistent routines for feeding, walks, playtime, grooming, and cleaning. I also make sure the home is safe and comfortable for pets by keeping medications, chemicals, toxic foods and plants, and small objects out of reach. My pets are an important part of my household, and I am able to provide them with the attention, companionship, and care they need throughout the day. I care for every pet as if they were part of my own family. Since I work from home, I’m able to provide consistent companionship, supervision, and attention throughout the day. I follow each pet’s individual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, and playtime, I make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while they’re in my care. I’m happy to maintain their normal routines and provide plenty of exercise, play, affection, and one-on-one attention. I also understand that pets can feel anxious when their owners are away, so I provide a calm, patient environment and give them time to adjust.
“Jenna was absolutely amazing. Such a pleasure to speak with, went up and above for our dog! She sent not only pictures but videos and updated me as requested. She did an absolute wonderful job with her and I can't wait to go back on vacation and hire Jenna again! I can't thank her enough for all she did for us”

“Our dogs can get easily stressed when away from home. When I picked them up from Madison's, they looked relaxed. They were excited to see me but also very much at ease at Madison's which was great to see. I am very glad we know Madison now and look forward to her caring for our boys again!”

“So glad I found Angelina to watch my Labradoodle, she had never had experience with one before and they can be a handful, anxious, attention seeker, busy…she did great! He loved staying there and all family members were great with him. She stayed in contact and sent pics, highly recommend her, I was able to relax knowing he was in great hands!!”

“This was my first time using Rover and my first time boarding one of my dogs. Kelli made it easy, she was very communicative, and she sent me pictures while I was away to let me know how he was doing. Rooty enjoy this time with her. If I ever need to board him again I will definitely use Kelli again if she's available.”

“Dungey had a great time with Susan. He enjoyed running around her large yard with her pup!! Susan and her husband Dave took great care of Dungey giving him attention and treats! Susan was great with communication, she sent updates and pictures. We will be using her again when needed, and would recommend her if your needing care for your pup!”

“LOVE using Heather as our sitter! She’s watched our dogs twice now and she has always been great with communicating, sending regular updates, and being accommodating with our weird travel schedules. I can tell my dogs are comfortable and having fun when they’re with Heather and her family!”

“This was the second time April watched our dog and we enjoyed our vacation so much more because we felt so comfortable leaving him with her. She treats him like he is part of her family.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Fairhope
Deb was AMAZING with Bear and Cooper. Bear is a puppy with tons of border collie energy. Cooper is an old soul who loves sleeping in the sunbeams most of the day. Deb was able to cater to each of my dogs needs. Deb took it upon herself to research how to keep Bear occupied with brain games and challenging puzzles. She even took them to the dog park!! She sent photos every day and kept me up to date on their daily activities. I am so glad I found Deb, instead of taking my fur babies to a kennel. They were comfortable, safe, and well cared for. This was the first time I have ever left my dogs with a private sitter! Deb was more than I could have ever hoped for and will definitely be calling her again.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Fairhope can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fairhope home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fairhope.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
