About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I cared for hamsters, fish, and even a little parakeet. At 19, I adopted Max, a sweet lab mix who became my constant travel companion for 11 wonderful years as we explored the East Coast together. I’ve raised all my dogs from puppyhood, giving me plenty of experience with training, socializing, and caring for them through every stage of life. Today, my family and I live on 220 beautiful acres in Chestertown with: Beauty – Aussie Heeler mix (5) Scooby – lovable mutt (2) Yakko & Dot – tuxedo cats (3) 70+ chickens with big personalities A lively 55-gallon aquarium with community fish and snails, which has taught me the importance of maintaining delicate habitats Living with so many animals — from dogs and cats to chickens and aquarium life — has taught me patience, adaptability, and the joy of connecting with creatures of all kinds. Whether it’s walking a high-energy dog, keeping a shy cat comfortable, or caring for fish and poultry, I treat every animal like they’re part of my family. I split my time between Chestertown and Glens Falls, which means I can offer flexible pet care in both areas. I’m available for drop-in visits in Glens Falls on the days I’m there, as well as home stays in either location. I’m currently recovering from a car accident and walk with a cane, so while I can’t take dogs on long walks, I can safely let them out into a fenced yard or supervise them on a lead. At this time, I’m not offering boarding services in my own home, but I do plan to in the future. For now, my focus is on providing reliable, in-home care and check-ins so your pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in yours, their safety and comfort always come first. In your home, I follow your routines closely — from feeding schedules to favorite playtime activities — so pets feel secure in their familiar space. I make sure doors and gates are secure, keep an eye on water and food bowls, and provide supervised outdoor time in fenced areas or on a lead. In my home (for future boarding services), pets will enjoy a calm, animal-friendly environment on our 220-acre property, safely separated from my own animals as needed. I have experience managing dogs, cats, poultry, and aquarium life, which means I’m attentive to different needs and personalities. As a volunteer firefighter here in Chestertown, safety and responsibility are part of my everyday life. I also believe trust is built through clear communication — you can expect regular updates, photos, and honest feedback while your pets are in my care.

About: I have many years of experience with animals . Growing up , we always had cats & dogs. Since I've been an adult, I've had many people who rely on me time & time again to watch their pets & homes. I'm looking to add new clients. I'd love to watch your fur babies in your home. I can do day, night or week, drop ins and walks. Whatever, you need I'm sure we can come to an agreement! Let's chat! I currently work full time in Middlebury Monday - Friday 7:30 -3:15. I am available around those times. Overnights, weekends and some holidays if needed. I unfortunately can't do lunchtime drop ins. However, I could drop in after or before work. School will be out soon I'll have more availability. I currently can't have pets in my home. I'd love to take care of your pets in their own home if you're okay with that. I do work so I'd be gone for part of the day but will make sure I'm there right after work. I work at a school so I have all summer available. Extra love for your furbabies .

“Anna was great!! We were gone on an extended trip, and she took great care of our three kitties. She was great with providing updates and gave our cats lots of love. Definitely would book with Anna again!”

“Emily was the closest Rover sitter to me in a remote location, put she was still about 20 minutes away. She stopped by AFTER a full days work, which was at least another 20 minutes in the opposite direction from me. Despite these logistics, Emily showed up consistently early evening immediately after her work day. She performed all the duties necessary during each visit, plus she performed some special handling for a package that arrived while I was away. I would not hesitate using her again, and would recommend her.”

“She is the best she did daily check in, she sent us daily pictures and updates. There were in the best care for 3 weeks i loved how she worked and how flexible she was definitely recommend her and will definitely choose her again.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover and caretaker my whole life. I have novice vet tech experience and I’m not afraid of the feisty ones, either! I’m working full time but my shift currently runs from 5pm to 1am Tues-Sat, so I am available for walks, play sessions, and pet/house sitting as needed around those hours. Working hours subject to change every few weeks. I like to have fun with my furry friends. I’m not afraid to get down and dirty, or even rough when the zoomies come out.

About: My name is Melissa and I have taken care of animals since my first dog in second grade. I previously had a Labrador and Shih-Tzu who both lived until old age. I also fostered older dogs who could not find homes due to their age. I currently have a one year old yellow lab mix. He’s dog and cat friendly. In order to board your dog, your dog must be dog friendly. I also require a meet and greet to ensure it’s a good fit. Buddy is not neutered so unspayed females are not a good fit. I offer boarding in my home. I live in a second story apartment in an old building with a large yard. There is a picture of my apartment located within my pictures. I only board one animal at a time as it's a one bedroom apartment. It allows me to spend quality time with your pet! For boarding I do provide dishes and toys, but many animals prefer to have some of their own. I have open availability on weekends, however I work from home on weekdays and there may be times I need to be out of my home for up to three hours. I have a camera in my home and will be able to remotely check on your pet if I need to be away for work. I will always inform you prior to the booking if I have appointments out of the home. I am experienced feeding animals in a variety of ways and will follow your instructions on feeding and walking. I ensure animals are well cared for, played with, and that they receive the attention and care needed.

About: I grew up on a small hobby farm with goats, chickens, horses, dogs and cats. When I was younger I helped train 2 Border Collie/Australian Sheppard mix puppies. I have a good sense of what animals need and am very patient and loving with all animals. I have a infant daughter who will be accompanying me with most my drop in visits. She will be in a backpack while I take care of your furry friend. I am available most mornings, nights and weekends. I love being outside and love being around animals. I am active, friendly, and responsible. I can't wait to take care of your pet and give it love and attention. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! I am flexible! I have little ones (2 young daughters) but they will be able to come with me on occasion and they are also pet lover themselves. I have a fenced in yard if needed and love going on long walks and hikes. We would get lots of play time in and happy to bring my dog along for companion if wanted.

About: Common courtesy and communication is paramount. **Willing to travel up to an hour away. Just because Rover says you are outside my service area it does not always mean you are. I have clients an hour North and South of me. **Necessary update as of 6/21/23** I will require current credit card info be on file at your vet or provided for me in your pet write up ONLY in case of emergency. In the event of an emergency and I could not get a hold of the human, puppies have no pockets to hold a card, the vet required me to pay. I have raised 3 separate RESCUE Rottweilers to be exceptional ambassadors of their breed. I currently do not have any pets since my big boy passed away in 2016. I hope to again one day have my own dogs. Until then I will love YOUR pet. **I DO NOT board animals at my home. Only repeat clients would MAYBE be possible for a very short amount of time.** Clients pets have included many breeds, species for days, weeks. Many Golden Retrievers, Doodles, mixes aka Heinz57s, Old English Sheep dog, lots of kitties, a chameleon, turtles, a bearded dragon, a small bird, fish, Rottweilers, a very challenging but lovable English Bulldog and Huskies one of which was very reactive. Oh and a LOT of house plants! PLEASE NOTE: I am deathly allergic to horses which I am very sad about. Any type of animal requiring LARGE amounts of hay would also be a problem i.e, goats, cows, alpacas I am sorry to say. Small rodent animals requiring hay for food or bedding has not been a big deal. My personnel dogs were very public dogs, parks, events etc. With the ever present fact in mind that as good as my animal was it is still an animal. Never purposely putting them in a situation to be loose (unless at home or a fenced park) or get into anything that could harm them. Read quite a few books/manuals by military working dog trainers in hopes of training a service oriented Rottie. Came very close to passing the Good Citizen certification but my dogs never liked the “stay” part when I had to walk away with my back turned. They just had to be next to me. So close. PLEASE NOTE: I have my preferences set to NOT to show any photos of YOUR pet publicly. I would ask permission first to share. Photos only NEVER infomation of course. My schedule allows me to be available to be in YOUR HOME, with your pets all day/night, unless noted ahead of time and of course trips to the store. I have many types of animals that insist on sleeping in bed just like they do when their people are home which in fine by me. Just take some Benadryl and snuggle on in. I try to stick closely to how the home runs normally so the pets do not have any surprises that can make them anxious. Sleep, food, walks, play time etc. I supervise dogs in their own yard fenced or not. I am very organized and like an outlined idea of their schedule to be written down for me to follow as closely as YOU would.

“Shelby was awesome! Our cats are normally very shy, but on Shelby's first visit they came right out. She is definitely a cat person and we felt very comfortable with her in charge. Excellent communicator. Highly recommend!”

“Colleen was great! She came a few days before to meet my (high maintenance) cat and see the space. She was super warm and nice - I had no qualms about leaving my baby in her care. She updated me a couple times of day, with pictures! My cat was healthy and happy after she left, and the house looked great - she even took out my trash! I would (and will) 100% book Colleen again!!”

“I recently hired Jess to take care of my Tommy while I was away, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the very beginning, Jess was professional, communicative, and clearly passionate about animals. During our meet-and-greet, Jess took the time to understand my pet’s routine and needs, which put my mind at ease. When I returned, my Tommy was happy and well-cared for, which is the best indicator of a great pet sitter. I highly recommend Jess to anyone looking for reliable and loving care for their furry family members!”

About: Hi! I'm an experienced house and petsitter who truly loves the animals in my care. I've watched pets for many friends and families. I discovered my love of animals while living in Australia when I was asked to live in a family friend's home for six months to watch their aging border collie and cat. I then became a daily dog walker for a yellow lab while her primary caretaker was working; I have also looked after a rat terrier, an Irish terrier, and three labradoodles with regularity. I was a Canine Companion at my local SPCA, having completed a thorough training program there, as well as a volunteer with the local ambulance corps. I have had great experiences with dogs and cats of many different breeds and ages and I look forward to meeting your furry friends! What sets me apart is the amount of time your pets get with me. I spend a lot of time and care with your furry friends. This depends on what the dog and the client needs. I am happy to discuss this with you further when we meet and chat more.

Lindie M.
“Lindie was a fantastic dog and house sitter for my wife and I during a hectic time. The birth of our son left us worried that our other children would be left behind, but Lindie came and gave them the love and continuity that made our transition to an even larger family easier. She is a prompt communicator and dedicated caretaker. It was a pleasure to work with her and I would recommend her to any who's dogs are in need of love in their human's absence.”

Jennifer F.
“Jennifer was absolutely fantastic to have in our home while we were recently away. We have a male Rottweiler & have struggled to find someone who would be comfortable staying with him. Jennifer is our girl! She took the time to meet with us prior & we were immediately at ease with the care we knew she’d give our Dog. It was evident that Jennifer is knowledgeable about pet/animal care & genuinely cared about the well-being of our boy and overall home. We even arrived home to a tidy house! We needed to adjust times with her more than once and she was both punctual and flexible. The best part is that she kept us updated with our boy through pictures and texts throughout the time we were away. :) Needless to say, we were able to enjoy ourselves knowing that our dog & home was being well taken care of. Thanks to Jennifer we’re already planning our next trip!!”

Karen W.

“Karen communicated well and took great care of our cats.”

Rachel B.

“I highly recommend Rachel as a dog sitter! Rachel has helped me both by staying with my dog, Louie, while I was out of town and by walking Louie when I needed a dog walker. She is responsible, reliable and great with dogs! A true dog lover who is also extremely diligent. Louie got the spa treatment with Louie - long walks, dog parks and lots of belly rubs. Rachel provided lots of photos and was very attentive with Louie and meeting his particular needs. Louie looks forward to her next visit.”
