We are so happy having Paige as our dog walker! She is communicative and reliable and my dog clearly loves her from the many photo updates she sends. Paige has a deep understanding of dogs and their needs and seems to really enjoy being around them- my mind is at ease knowing my dog is with someone who truly cares about her well being. I highly recommend Paige for her professionalism and look forward to working with her long term!

Gabriel did great with my 2 German shepherds. I have one that is very moody and 100 pounds. He dealt with him very well. I’ll definitely use him again😊

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of animals since I was 10 years old. I worked on my aunt’s ranch where I cared for a variety of animals including dogs and cats. I also have a lot of experience with dogs since I showed my dog in 4H and won several awards. I love animals of all shapes and sizes so I’m sure I will be a perfect fit for your furry friend. I care for my pets every morning and every night. During three of the weekdays, I have class but I return home right after to spend time with them and get them exercise. I carry dog treats with me when doing visits to help the dogs feel more comfortable. I also enjoy taking long walks with dogs to keep them entertained. I am particularly fond of cats, as they are my favorite animal. I have four cats myself, and I think cats are truly precious. I love taking care of animals. My apartment complex features a significant amount of green space and a dog park. In my apartment, there are dog toys, cat toys, cat trees, and three different pet water fountains.

About: Hi! My name is Alaina and I work part time at a dog daycare, so I’m around all kinds of dogs every day—big, small, shy, energetic, you name it. I’m also certified in dog behavior and first aid through my workplace, a nationally recognized dog daycare and boarding company. I have a lot of hands-on experience with different temperaments, and I’m especially comfortable working with nervous or reactive dogs though my favorite are working breeds! I focus on reading body language, keeping things low-stress, and helping each dog feel safe and understood. I truly love being around animals, and I’ll care for your pet like they’re my own 💗 Currently, I work 6:45 am to 12:30 pm every weekday and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursdays at a dog daycare located in Edmond so rest assured, whether your pup sleeps in or wakes up at the crack of dawn, I am able to accommodate! :) I take time to learn each pet’s routine, body language, triggers, and comfort level so they feel secure and stress-free. I closely supervise pets, keep doors/gates secure, follow feeding and medication instructions carefully, and maintain a clean environment. I’m also comfortable handling nervous, reactive, high-energy, or senior dogs and always use positive reinforcement and patience to build trust. In clients’ homes, I respect their space and follow all care instructions exactly as requested while providing regular updates, photos, and communication for peace of mind.

About: I've worked and rescued dogs since I was a child. I understand a dogs need for routine, feeding schedules, and walking schedules. I've worked with multiple dogs who have different schedules or needs. I've worked with dogs who have been abused and have to avoid certain triggers (other dogs, construction work, certain genders). I've walked dogs who refuse to potty unless you walk and stop at certain favorite spots. No request is too big or too large. I'm currently back in school for health information technology. I'm a virtual student with flexibility anytime. I'm an open book. If you have any questions just ask. In my clients home I aim to keep things as consistent as possible. The pet is already missing their mom or dad. Everything else should be as routine as possible.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a child. I have done pet sitting for friends, family, and my boss. To care for not only their dogs, but for my own as well, I have done research on many things for dog care. I have taught myself how to trim their nails and even started learning to groom them. I have done some research on aggression as well, my dog has had aggression issues since we got him at 2 years old, and have learned to deal with his aggression. At this moment, I work from Tuesday through Thursday every week from 8-5 (potentially getting off earlier) and also a full time student! I also leave town once a week to help my mother with her stores (I’m usually gone for abt 5-6 hours and lived an hour and 15 away. I am flexible with this so if you are uncomfortable with me leaving town I am totally fine with going after)! I will only do dog sitting at your home. I have four dogs in our home and it is a very much full house. I live with others which makes it possible for me to have a free schedule for dog sitting/walking. I believe that the dogs are not just pets but children in their own way. They should be cared provided for and treated with the same care.

About: With 6 years of professional experience in the animal industry and a lifetime of pet ownership, I am comfortable and confident handling and caring for pets of all varieties. While I work with dogs full time Monday-Friday, my week day mornings (5am-7am) and evenings (4pm-10pm) are open for walks! I'm mostly available at any time on any given weekend. My current living situation does not allow for boarding, but I have several years of experience providing in home pet care. I'm comfortable and confident with new animals, and I tend to have a soft spot for the shy ones. I'm aware that each individual pet has their own set of needs and routine. Consistency is very important to me, and I am more than happy to adapt to your pets rituals to keep them content while you're away.

I have 2 dogs of my own, I know how much we care for our animals and we only want the best for them. I do work 8-6 on weekdays, not including Thursday. I am off then. About: I'd describe my personality as calm, patient, and caring I like working with animals because they bring joy and companionship to families and deserve to be treated the same as any other member of the family, and to be able to assist in caring for them gives me a level of happiness that other jobs do not give. I started working with animals when I was a young child, working with my sister who taught me the importance of caring for and nurturing our animal companions, so that they in turn can care for us. I'm currently attending a course online to obtain an IT Support Specialist certification. Pet care fits into my downtime when I am not working towards this goal, and it provides me with extra income to help me as I strive to gain a new career in IT support. First, I make sure that your pet is comfortable with my presence and wait patiently until they have concluded that I am not a threat. As I care for the needs of your beloved fur babies, I ensure that they feel loved and safe at all times.

About: I am an animal lover with about 35 years experience taking care of dogs and cats. I have previous experience working at a vet clinic where I dispensed medication to hospitalized animals, bathed dogs and cats, and cared for them daily. I will also provide nail trims and baths upon request before your furry friend goes home. We look forward to meeting your furry family member! Please allow at least 24 hours notice for booking dog sitting. I prefer to have time to set up a meet and greet with you and your pet to make sure you are both comfortable working with me. In addition, my three dogs will be at my home so I'll bring my dogs along to the meet and greet so they can sniff and get familiar with each other. You may also come to my home to meet my dogs and to get an idea of where your pet will stay. I work M-F, 8-5 but come home once during the day for a potty break for my dog. I take late evening walks with the dogs. I am also available for drop-ins for dogs and cats. I'm not as flexible as I would like to be, but always make sure my clients (pets) are loved and well cared for. We live on 5 acres with a large fenced yard for playtime, I will provide daily walks, and my gentle 35 lb. beagle/lab mix Ele, 75 lb Great Pyrenees, and my 128 lb Lab will make sure your companion doesn't get lonely while I'm at work. We are a dog loving home and most likely your dog will get spoiled, snuggled, and have too much fun! Did I mention my 17 year old son is a certified dog walker?

About: I’ve been a nanny for about 5 years now, and it’s introduced me into the world of pet care! I love being able to care for all members of the family. I have a sweet dog and energetic kitten at home! I know how scary it can be to leave them with someone new, so I strive to provide a positive and comfortable experience for both pet and parent. I have professional and personal experience with dogs, cats, reptiles, and birds. I can administer oral or topical medications, follow specific feeding instructions, take care of specific health needs, and provided plenty of cuddles! I work part time and only have a few classes this semester, so I have plenty of free time! I do accept same day bookings if they fit into my schedule, and I always try to be flexible with the schedules that your pets are used to! I try my best to provide a comforting environment. Disruptions in schedules and routines can be very stressful for animals. It’s important for me to try my best to ease that stress, and help them relax and be happy.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Etowah. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Etowah.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Etowah. On Rover:

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
