“I usually use Rover's boarding option, however, I wasn't able to find anyone in close proximity during this busy summer. With this being my first time using the house sitting service, I was nervous about leaving my dog and opening my home to someone I had just barely met. However, Mahle made this experience less stressful. We established a meet and greet a few days after I initially requested the days I needed a sitter for my dog. She responded promptly to my messages and showed up right on time. She was friendly, interacted and played with Koa as we discussed Koa's schedule and personality. When we were away, I did have to message her to see how everything was going and she responded quickly with updates of my dog and a picture. She was very respectful of my property and most importantly I came home to a happy dog. I feel more at ease using this Rover option and will definitely ask Mahle if she can sit for my dog in the future. Thank you, Mahle!!”

“Bri is incredibly communicative and provided thoughtful, caring updates about our baby. We are thankful to know her and enjoy her services. Our dog is our most treasured family member and she treats her as such.”

“Sent pictures, followed instructions, my animals and my house have little particulars that she listened to well, too! My house was clean, animals were well taken care of and happy when I got back ❤️ Would recommend Cayla and will use again! Thanks again.”

About: Hello! I have worked at a boarding kennel for 5 years and have volunteered at the Humane society for 2 years as well. I am comfortable with everything your pet brings to the table! I am available throughout the days on these days. I am also available on weekends! I will be sure your dog has the most fun on our walks! I know my way around many types of harnesses/leashes/muzzles. I can’t wait to get my steps in with your dog!

“I had the pleasure of having Hannah stay at our home and spend time with our pup Olive. I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Hannah took great care of Olive, sending me regular updates and photos of their time together. She picked up on Olive’s quirks in no time LOL! I would definitely recommend Hannah to others, we will be reaching out to her again!”

“Serena is the best! We lost our regular rover sitter and Serena understood the situation and stepped up right away. She set up a meeting time to meet Mystery and get to know her before staying here. We hit it off right away and I knew right away she would become our new favorite Rover girl! She took great care of Mystery and our home during Fourth of July. We are extremely grateful and hope she will let us bother her again for future sitting needs!”

“Bailee took extremely good care of my french bulldog Tank. Not only was she very accommodating and checked in frequently, she also was able to respond and watch him within a days notice. Bonus points for taking him on a long walk and to see my fraternity brothers… Definitely recommend, and will use again.”

“Sadie was great. She was available last minute to watch our dog over a holiday weekend and was able to do a meet and greet within a short amount of time. Sadie took great care of our dog, Schenley while we were away.”

“We are so grateful to have had Allison stay with our Corgi while we were away for a week. Our dog has anxiety and typically becomes very stressed while we are away, but Allison stayed at our home, followed his usual routine as closely as possible, and made sure to give him some extra love. She would check-in with us daily to let us know how things were going and would ask questions if she was unsure of something. She was respectful with our home and belongings and made sure to leave things nice and tidy for our return. As someone who tends to leave a lot of instructions when it comes to staying with our dogs, I can’t recommend Allison enough! She truly made us feel comfortable that she had things under control so that we could enjoy our vacation.”

About: Hi, I am Mamie (I have gone by Mamie since birth but am technically named Mary) and I have had dogs, cats, and many smaller critters throughout my life, and my own pets for over 25 years. My mother was a vet tech and I grew up rescuing many animals, and continued that tradition into adulthood, so I have ample experience in a multitude of pet types and situations I work as a housekeeper around the Pittsburgh area from about 7am-3pm mon-thursday, so will not be available in the home or for potty breaks during those hours. The absolute longest I would leave a pet during a house-sitting is 8 hours on those days. All other outings/errands would be less than four hours, tops, but usually only about an hour. I am comfortable with more or less any pet, from rodents to lizards and I am not squirmish about even the creepy crawlies and slithery noodles. I can and have given almost every kind of medication there is, including subcutaneous injections, and am comfortable doing so with care and compassion and confidence. I am just starting out with professional pet sitting on Rover, I did it years ago in Seattle as a side gig on my own with Craigslist posts, and have had a couple gigs on here so far. I am clean, responsible, and trustworthy. I will only take jobs with a meet and greet beforehand, and you can get a feel for my vibe and professionalism at that time, but I am sure you will like me and feel comfortable having me in your home. As a housekeeper I am used to going into strangers homes and having a high level of integrity and care for their space and belongings. I also am very clean and fastidious. I keep things looking like I wasn't there as much as possible, and will clean litter boxes daily and change water bowls daily and do deep cleans of water fountains 1x a week. I work as a housekeeper from 7am-3pm mon-thursday around the greater Pittsburgh area. If you have multiple dogs who need round the clock supervision and you book me at least three weeks before the sitting start date, than we could work that out and I could block out my housekeeping schedule for that time and just be available for the sitting job (my rates will be increased in this situation as I am priced for my current availability, not constant care and being unable to make my normal wages during the sit). I don't do sitting in my own home since I have two cats and a husband and no fenced in yard. In clients homes I am respectful, clean, tidy, responsible and trustworthy. I mind my business and am not judgemental. I will spend lots of time loving and socializing your pets, and I set alarms and try to keep potty breaks frequent to avoid accidents and less stress.

About: I’ve had dogs all my life, including the 4 family dogs I have now. I watched neighbors, family, and friends dogs. My golden retriever and I did a training program where we did intro level training. I am currently on summer break from school, so I am able to work most days. I am willing to adjust schedule to fit the care necessary. My home has an electric fence, but I usually bring my dogs to parks or trails to walk and play. Willing to bring your dogs to parks and trails as well as your yard to play. I love to make any animal comfortable in their home, and cater to them.

“Katelyn has been a reliable and dependable sitter for our dog for some time now. She keeps us updated on him while we are away and the house is perfect when we return.”

About: I have experience caring for both cats and dogs. As a pet parent myself, I know how important it is to find a pet sitter that you can trust. I hope to give you peace of mind that your pets are in good hands, while you were away! You can often find me out walking the neighborhood in Hawthorne Village, and would love to take your pup along with me or stop by to spend time with your cat! I am free during the weekends and during the week I work remotely which gives me flexibility as to where I work from. If I am working from your home to care for your pets, I will need to be connected to WiFi. I am happy to adjust to your specific pet’s needs! If they are social and energetic, I would love to spend time playing with them or taking them on a walk, if requested. If they are more reserved and prefer a quieter space, I am happy to provide a calm environment where they feel safe and comfortable!

“We were so lucky to find such a wonderful sitter during the Thanksgiving holiday! From the very first meet-and-greet, we felt completely comfortable. She was punctual, and it was clear from the start that she was friendly and professional. My dog and even my toddler warmed up to her instantly, which was such a relief! She kept us updated daily with pictures, which was so reassuring, and was always quick to respond to any messages. We were also impressed with how respectful she was of our home, and how she handled a few unexpected tasks like working with a faulty sliding door lock and even setting a faucet to drip due to freezing temperatures—she most likely saved our house from potential damage! The best part was knowing that she was taking excellent care of our dog and keeping her happy. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and we're so grateful for all the care she provided. Highly recommend! Thank you so much!”

“Corinne was fantastic with our dog and two cats. We got lots of pictures and updates and she was very easy to work with throughout the process. We’ve already booked Corinne for our next trip and know the pets and house will be in great hands.”

Mary S.
“I'm delighted to recommend Mary S. as a pet sitter on Rover. Having watched her grow up caring for our multiple cats and dog, plus numerous foster animals, I can confidently say she has a natural gift with animals. Mary genuinely "speaks cat" - she understands their unique personalities and body language, treating each one as an individual. She's particularly attuned to pets experiencing anxiety or depression, knowing exactly how to comfort them and meet them where they're at. What sets Mary apart is her medical knowledge and experience. Growing up in a veterinary household, she learned to administer subcutaneous fluids, manage diabetic pets with insulin injections, and recognize when a pet needs professional care. She combines this technical expertise with genuine warmth - during playtime, she gets down on their level and makes every pet feel special. Dogs adore her just as much as cats do. She's safety-conscious, responsible, and has that rare quality of making animals feel instantly comfortable. Mary is completely reliable - she won't skip anything in your pet's routine - and she's great about keeping owners updated with pictures and messages so you'll never have to wonder how your pet is doing. Whether your pet needs specialized medical care or just lots of love and attention, Mary will treat them like family. She's exactly the kind of person I'd trust with my own pets. Eileen A. M.S. Jordan D.
“Jordan has cared for my three dogs many times. They are very different in terms of size, breed, age, and temperament, yet Jordan has a connection with all of them. She knows how to calm my hyper husky mix and give confidence and support to my anxious senior mutt. Jordan has a really wonderful connection with my geriatric pug who is deaf, blind, and in cognitive decline. She is so happy when Jordan comes in the house, always soliciting pets and attention. Jordan is definitely a favorite of my dogs, they can sense when someone is comfortable and confident with them. Plus, it’s always great when someone genuinely enjoys being around animals. My dogs know Jordan is a true “animal person”. I can’t recommend her highly enough.”

He is a very conscientious young man in his upkeep of both his own pets and also helping others by providing educational information about nutrition and various other health care tips.
