If I could give Dawn 100 stars I would!! She was AMAZING taking care of my little Yeti. She was communicating and sending beautiful pictures of him all day. He never eats at strange locations, and he even ate with her. She has a sixth sense for animals!! I'd recommend her everyday.

At first, I struggled with the thought of leaving my grand dog (Zyla is my daughter’s dog), because Zyla really is treated like a family member and Zyla is our everything but Monica was wonderful. Monica sent multiple photos throughout the day which reassured us that Zyla was ok. From the photos I could tell that Zyla was having a blast. Zyla made a new furry friend and two human friends. Monica not only sent me photos but updated me throughout the day on Zyla’s activities which eased my worry as well. I can tell Zyla had the time of her life because she fell fast asleep on her ride home. Monica made Zyla’s first doggy daycare experience wonderful for both Zyla and her owners. I am definitely scheduling more future dates with Monica for both doggie daycare and boarding.

George enjoyed playing with Nayeli's puppy . Nayeli sent me photos and videos of George throughout the day. I feel very happy to have found Nayeli and I will bringing George back. Chaqutia took great care of our Labradoodle! She sent me pictures and updates throughout the stay, which really put my mind at ease. I was a little nervous about leaving my pet in a new home, but everything went perfectly. Knowing our dog was in good hands allowed me to relax and enjoy my birthday with my family. Thanks so much, Chaqutia!

Absolutely wonderful person and my pup LOVES her! He is a fairly big dog (German Shepard) and she was great with him. He has a very nice space to run around and play, and I can tell by his excitement and body language that he feels comfortable there. 10/10 would book again!

We had a wonderful experience with Sandra, our Rover sitter! Our dogs were clearly well cared for, and the little extra touches made it even more special — they came home with a star and a goodie bag, which was such a thoughtful surprise. Communication was great, I received pictures and a video of their day. We would absolutely book again!

Communication with Amy and Chris was smooth and easy. They're both very caring, and Boo had a good day with Chris. I will say that given Boo's energy level -- he's a hunting-dog mutt who loves to run --he's probably better off where there's a fenced yard or an opportunity for long walks...but this is no reflection on Amy and Chris. It was our choice to give them a try.

About: Originally from upstate NY, I spent time working as a professional veterinary assistant in Atlanta, GA while in school. In this role, I worked directly under a veterinarian to monitor, clean, and provide medical check-ups for dogs at local pet centers, while also providing care for other animals at a boarding and daycare resort. With this hands-on experience, I am deeply familiar with dog health, sanitization, and administering medications. I enjoy spending time with dogs, understand how to spot early signs of illness, and know how to keep dogs on a fun and healthy routine. Since moving back to upstate NY, I do part-time work as a tech consultant from home. This allows me to give plenty of attention to your pet, while also providing plenty of outdoor activities. My wife also works from home, which allows her the flexibility to help as well. Our house is situated right next to the D&H Canal trail, and we take regular walks on a daily basis.Whether your dog is a growing puppy who needs attentive care or an older dog who requires a reliable, experienced handler, my top priority is maintaining their health, safety, and happiness while you are away. My wife and I both work part-time from home, which gives us highly flexible schedules to prioritize your pet's care throughout the week. Our daily routine naturally includes multiple walks along the scenic D&H Canal trail, which directly borders our property. Because our work keeps us at home, guest pets enjoy consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of playful companionship. Our home sits far back from the road at the end of a long driveway, offering a very quiet, safe environment. We sit on 10 acres of land, featuring 3 groomed acres for supervised play and 7 acres of private woods. While our yard is only partially fenced, we have two large, fully enclosed decks that are completely fenced in—perfect for safe sunbathing, lounging, and secure outdoor activities. We also utilize a collapsible fence that we can pull out and set up to create customized secure boundaries if necessary. For exercise, dogs are strictly supervised and kept on-leash as we head down the driveway to our private access point for the D&H Canal trail, keeping them completely away from traffic.

Athena was absolutely amazing with my dog, Toulouse. He's a whiny handful with major separation anxiety, so I was nervous about leaving him with anyone, but Athena won him over completely. She took him on some adorable adventures around her university campus and, somehow, got him to actually do all of his business, which is nearly impossible even for me sometimes! She was patient, attentive, and clearly has a real gift with anxious dogs. I'd trust her with Toulouse again in a heartbeat, and I can't recommend her enough.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Ellenville commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 264 sitters in Ellenville, 91% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
