About: I have had dogs my whole life ranging from Pomeranians to Labradors. I have also worked at veterinary clinics, dog daycares and animal shelters. I have experience providing care to both puppies and senior dogs, as well as taking care of medical needs for special cases in both dogs and cats. Animals are my passion, and I promise I will treat your pets like my own. I am available Monday through Sunday full time. I can be available morning starting at 10am to evenings ending at 8pm. I am also available to pet sit in your home any day of the week. I do not have the means to provide boarding in my home. But I would love to take care of your pets in your home, where I’m sure they’ll feel safe and comfortable.
“Tierra was awesome! She took great care of our Raven! She had to administer 3 different medications, kept in contact, and sent pictures! Raven loves Tierra!”
“Meredith was available on late notice to watch our particular pup and it went fantastic! She is a great communicator and we felt very comfortable having her stay in our home. Meredith sent photos and updates while we were away, and gave a great summary (meds given, food ate and last potty break) before she left. Our 4 yo anxious dog loved her and we would absolutely hire her again. Thanks Meredith!”

“We loved having Monique come and sit / house sit our two dogs. She was very concerned on learning the needs and habits of our dogs. Every day we were gone we would get photos and comments of what our dogs were up to. Our dogs were very sad after she left when we came home. Her kindness and attention really hit a cord with our dogs. Thank you for doing such a great job and allowing us to get out of town for some “alone” time! —- Dennis C.”

“She did a great job with our two crazy dogs and put up with us asking for pictures everyday. The house was clean when we got home and both of our dogs seemed like they had a great time!”

About: We have experience with all types of animals! Right now we currently own 2 rabbits, a cat, and 2 dogs, one of the dogs is a senior, and requires daily medication. We also have experience with large animals, Shelby (my partner) owns horses. Overall we have cared for various types of pets throughout the years, and love all types of animals! I am working part time, and she goes to Washington State University all in Spokane, so we will have plenty of time to cater to all of your pet needs! We can walk your pets in low traffic areas, or are more than happy to walk them on trails away from any potential hazards if you would prefer that! We carefully monitor interactions between our own different types of animals to avoid any altercations, which we will also do with your pets! Safety is our #1 priority with ALL pets!
“I needed someone to watch my two dogs in my home. I hired Winifred based on her reviews which are very good. She came before hand to meet the dogs and get acquainted with their care, and they were very comfortable with her. She is very experienced with animal care and I felt totally comfortable having her care for my dogs. Winifred sent daily updates and pictures which was nice and the dogs loved her extra attention. My house was totally as I left it and the dogs happy when we got home. I highly recommend Winifred to anyone who needs pet sitting services!”

“Leah kept my boys happy and safe while we were gone, she left the house in clean condition after three days of staying and I am so appreciative! Her friendliness, good communication, and affection for our little fur balls all made her a great sitter while we were away. Thank you Leah!”

“Tatum was wonderful. She took exceptional care of our dogs and left the apartment exactly how we left it. Great attention to detail regarding care instructions and exceptional communication. Highly recommend.”

About: Ive always had pets growing up. Cats for the majority but I have babysat families with fish, cats, dogs, and farm animals. I enjoy being outside so it was always a joy. I am a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time to watch any furry friends. I am available all days of the week besides Sundays I have a partially fenced yard and have 2 indoor cats. They go outside occasionally and avoid confrontation but are otherwise extremely nice and friendly. I always give my cats food and water on a schedule and am sure to include their wet foods for their health. I do have a baby, soon to be toddler, who loves our cats and just enjoys being in their presence
About: I was born and raised on a farm so I have raised many different kinds of livestock and house pets. Animal care is one of my favorite things about living on the farm and I will treat your furry family members as one of my own. I am currently working a 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. I am able to get away during the work day for about an hour, so in that time I can come and let your pet out to potty or give them more food. On the days I am not working, I am completely free to be with your pet for as long as you need me. I will vary my care based on the situation you have at your home and on your pets temperment (ex. going to the park, walking on the sidewalk, or sticking to the yard).
About: I am an animal mom of several years of cats, dogs. I have two cats and I did have a dog. I know of the general care of animals. I go above and beyond taking them in as my own. I respect their personal boundaries. I would have to come to you. I do work full time in the evenings from Tuesday to Friday generally from 3-11pm. For dogs walking ill take them on hour long walks, if we find a field ill play fetch. I am very good at following instructions to a tee. As well as administratoring meds. I am very comfortable with that. Hey I'm working full-time in the evening. Usually tuesday through friday from 3-11, but I am home every morning and weekends. About: My partner and I have taken care of dogs for many years. We have experience in training stubborn puppies. We know they are still learning manners and house etiquette, and have the patience to love them anyways. We love large dogs who love to cuddle, we love high energy dogs who love to run, and we love the tiny little ones who think they’re the biggest of all. All dogs from birth are called itty bitty little babies and will be loved unconditionally. No pup will be left without mandatory hugs and kisses. Since we have 2 Labradors of our own, we know that it’s important to keep them active. We have long walks every day, and we live within a mile of multiple parks where we can take them. We offer many toys and treats for quiet times, and we have minimum of 30 minute training sessions at least once a day. We believe in taking them outside many, many times a day. And nothing is better than outside play time.

“Sadie did a great job following my very detailed instructions for Lucy and Holly. She communicated promptly and effectively before and during her stay. She gave updates and sent pictures to ensure we were at ease during our time away. She did not leave any evidence that she was even here. I will definitely reach out to her anytime we go out of town without our pups. Thank you Sadie!”

“Joey was a wonderful sitter for our dog and two cats and for watching our house while we were away. I know they enjoyed his company and he was great at checking in and sending photo updates. FAQs for House Sitting - Elanor
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 573 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Elanor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Elanor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Elanor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Elanor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elanor. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
