About: Throughout my experience caring for animals, I’ve been responsible for a variety of daily pet-care needs, including feeding and providing fresh water, cleaning food and water bowls, maintaining clean living areas, giving pets attention and companionship, and making sure they are safe and comfortable. For cats and dogs, I’m comfortable with playtime, walks, bathroom breaks, litter box cleaning, and keeping them on their normal routines. For smaller pets like hamsters, I can provide food, fresh water, and habitat cleaning. I also have experience caring for fish, including feeding and maintaining a clean environment. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and routine so I can recognize when something seems unusual. I’m also happy to follow specific instructions from owners to make sure their pets receive consistent care while they’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m comfortable working around a pets established routine and making sure they receive consistent meals, fresh water, litter box care, playtime, and attention. In a clients home, I’ll treat their space with the same respect I would want for my own. I’ll make sure doors, gates, and other areas are secure, follow feeding and medication instructions carefully, and keep their environment clean and safe. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is doing well while you’re away.

“Kelly is great with my cats, and they loved her immediately. My big guy is usually pretty fearful, but he was rolling over and having his belly rubbed within a couple visits. Kelly is reliable, good with daily communication, and sending photos of the kitties. We will be rebooking soon!”

“Alyssa was amazing, cannot recommend her enough! She took extremely thoughtful notes during our meet and greet, always kept us informed with detailed messages and report cards, respected all our rules/instructions, and was quick to respond. Our dog absolutely loved her! Will definitely be rebooking.”

I’m happy to follow specific feeding, walking, playtime, and care routines, and I’m especially patient with pets who need extra attention, including young, energetic, shy, or senior pets. I treat every pet as if they were my own and make sure their owners can feel confident and at ease while they’re in my care. I am available daily for pet sitting and boarding and dog walking! I love being around animals and will provide a beautiful experience that's safe and trustworthy! I have a fenced yard and live in a pet friendly subdivision with several trails that your pet may enjoy! I love animals and I am taking this as a full time job and following my passion for animal care.

About: My experience started when i was about 14. I started watching family dogs and cats for money and it slowly became a passion. I work now at a dog resort which has daycare, boarding, bathing, and is now adding training. There I do bathing services, doggy daycare, feeding, administering medication. And that includes Cats as well. My aunt fosters cats/kittens and I have raised 2 dogs starting at month 3 as my grandpa adopted puppies. I helped and have experience with both little puppies and kittens. I love animals so much. I am super happy with this passion and hope to experience and learn more in the future. And am excited to work with you! I work currently at a Resort facility who works with both cats and dogs. And our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for your pets. I work day to day in that facility walking, feeding, medicating, and so much more. I have learned so much about animal behavior and have a pet of my own at home who I take care of day to day. So i work with pets daily. It will depend on what service you are looking for. I can do a basic bath for your pet in your home. (No nail trimming, and you would provide the bath and products you would like used.) For Boarding, either coming to me or me coming to you I can provide playtimes, long/short walks, administration of medication, litter-box cleaning, and more. For walks I can do walks in the neighborhood or take your dog to a dog park! And so much more! I am open to suggestions and ideas of what I can add/offer!
“Courtney was amazing! This was the first time we have had to leave our dogs with someone other than family, so we were a little nervous since our dogs can be a handful with their anxieties. The first time our dogs met her, they were already comfortable with her. Throughout our vacation she was always in touch with us and sent us pictures. Even though we are back now, the dogs still look excitedly in the morning to see if she is coming, so we will definitely be using Courtney again in the future!”

About: I’ve always had a genuine love for animals, and I actually worked as an animal groomer when I was younger. I absolutely loved it! That experience gave me the opportunity to work hands-on with dogs and taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and making each animal feel safe and comfortable. I’m a working mom who loves being outdoors and staying active, so getting to spend my time walking and caring for dogs is something I genuinely enjoy. I’m dependable, caring, and attentive, and I love getting to know each pet’s individual personality. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, a midday potty break and some companionship, or occasional house sitting, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while you’re away. I want you to have peace of mind knowing your pet is in caring and capable hands. I’ll treat your pets like family and make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and loved. 🐾❤️ My availability is flexible and I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine! Monday–Thursday, I’m available for walks and drop-in visits after 2 PM. Since I work in Fairfax and live in Marshall, I’m also happy to accommodate visits along my commute when scheduling allows. Friday–Sunday, I have much more flexibility and am available throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, and occasional house sitting. I’m happy to work with you to find a time that fits both your schedule and your pet’s needs. 🐾 I care for every pet as if they were my own and understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your furry family member in someone else’s care. I’m attentive to each pet’s personality, routine, comfort level, and individual needs. I have always loved being active with dogs, and my own Border Collie is a huge part of our family. We enjoy going on walks together regularly, so I understand how important exercise, stimulation, and companionship are for happy, healthy dogs. Safety and trust are my top priorities. During walks and drop-ins, I’ll stay attentive to your pet and follow your instructions regarding feeding, medications, routines, leash preferences, and anything else that helps them feel comfortable. I’m also happy to provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is simple: your pet should feel safe, loved, and cared for, and you should feel completely comfortable knowing they’re in good hands. 🐾❤️
“Kiley was absolutely wonderful to my sweet pup. She provided play time and a potty break in the middle of the day when I was at work. And even managed to befriend my cat who hides from everyone. Her time and attention given to my pup was greatly appreciated by both the humans and the dog who was much happier being at home than at doggy daycare.”

“Our cat ran out of the bushes to great us upon arriving home. He was sooooo happy. This is an indication of Christin giving him the care and love he is accustom to. Thank you”

About: Growing up with two other siblings and multiple pets, I was the one who was always caring for our animals. Whether it was walking our family dog Pepper, changing our rabbit Max's litterbox, or even giving our cat Tiki her insulin shots. Honestly, fast forward 20 years and not much has changed as I watch and care for my brother and sister's dogs, Smalls and Birdy, respectively, often. Oh, I also have my own 100% purebred good boy Yuki. Hes a 5 year old black field lab I've raised and trained since he was a puppy. Currently working part time and studying for IT certifications so I will have ample opportunities to walk, play, and care for your animals. Having a dog of my own I am very congniscient of feeding and walking times, willingly or not. Yuki and I go for walks twice daily around our neighborhood and even stop off at the park to throw the ball (finally, a dog that retrieves xD).
About: Hi. I'm Katherine. I have had dogs all of life. I've rescued shelties through NVSR and have taken in many 'street' cats. My last sheltie passed away this spring and while I'm still mourning her too much for a new dog I do desire to shower your pets with affection and make them feel special when you cannot. I'm willing to throw the ball until they are whipped. I'm willing to walk them until they are all tuckered out. My theory has always been that a good dog is a tired dog and a tired dog is a good dog. I've had that 'can't be with them as much as I want' guilt. You can feel confident that they will have the same you you would give them with me. I am currently working part time from home so I have all sorts of time to take good care of your babies when you can't. I will walk and play with your babies in parks, on walks and at the beach. I'm steps away from Dog beach for them to play.
About: Hi! I’m an experienced animal care professional with 15 years of experience as a zookeeper, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of caring for and working with all kinds of species, giving me a deep understanding of animal behavior, individual needs, and the importance of patience, compassion, and trust. Whether your pet is playful and energetic, shy and nervous, senior, or simply loves some extra attention, I’m comfortable meeting them where they are and providing care tailored to their personality and routine. I know how important it is to feel confident that your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I treat every animal in my care as an individual and take pride in providing dependable, attentive, and loving care. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your pets and give them the same care and attention I would want for my own! I work from home with a flexible part-time schedule, giving me plenty of time and availability to provide attentive care and drop-in visits for your pets. Since I have pets of my own, I primarily focus on drop-in visits. However, I’m always happy to discuss other options to find the best arrangement for you and your pets.
“Nazeeya is a super kind, thoughtful dog sitter who made sure to ask all the important questions to be able to care for Baby in the best way. She has a true love for animals and sent very cute updates of Baby so I could see how he was doing while I was away. I would recommend Nazeeya to anyone who needs a loving, experienced animal care taker!”

About: my lifelong experience with dogs, having had them since I was a baby. I’m passionate about their well-being, active, and love providing tailored care—whether it's training puppies, supporting senior dogs, or ensuring every walk is a fun, enriching experience. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine since I work part-time, giving me plenty of flexibility during the day to walk and care for pups. This allows me to offer consistent, personalized attention and make sure your dog gets all the exercise and love they need! In your home, I provide sweet, loving, and kind care for your pet, ensuring they feel comfortable and safe in their own environment. I stick to their routine, offering regular walks, playtime, and affection while keeping your home tidy and following any specific instructions you provide. Your pet will always feel like part of the family while you're away!

“Anastasia is great! My kitties love her. I feel comfortable having her coming home to watch over them. She is responsible and always comes on time and send me videos and pictures of the them in every visit. I’d recommend her:)”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
