“At first, Max was a bit hesitant and unsure, but Sebastián approached him with patience and genuine kindness. He took the time to build trust, never rushing the process, and it truly shows. Now Max is much more relaxed, and he genuinely enjoys Sebastián’s company and their walks together. Sebastián is also excellent with communication, always keeping me updated and making me feel at ease. I highly recommend him—he clearly knows what he’s doing and takes the time to do things the right way.”

About: I have had multiple pets since I was about 10 years old! I used to train and ride ponies and horses, but now I just focus on my dog, Miel. I took her in as a puppy and trained her during COVID. I have also previously taken care of weeks old puppies that required to be bottle fed multiple times a day and throughout the night. I am currently working full time and volunteering at a clinic after work (M/T/TH). I am available after work on Wednesdays, Fridays, and the weekends. I am also available during lunch (flexible hours) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I am also available for holidays! To ensure safety I approach pets slowly and give them a chance to come up to me first. I am also aware that some pets can have food restrictions so I would ask before providing or exposing them to any treats, toys, other personal items.

About: What sets me apart is that I am well-rounded and able to care for any animal, no matter the size, from pups to larger breeds. I have a strong passion for looking after animals so much that I’m currently pursuing a college degree related to conserving and saving our animals on this earth! I bring a sense of relief knowing your pet will stay safe while also staying happy and loved. Since I’m a college student, my schedule will be mostly free this summer. So I will have plenty of time to care for anyone’s pet at any time, no matter the circumstances. If you have an emergency trip, I will be available, or if you want to relax on vacation while also ensuring your pet is being well taken care of at home, I’m the person to call. I care for pets while I’m sitting by following strictly the rules given by the owner, as I want to ensure a safe environment not only for the pet but also for me and the owner's home. I’m very playful with them, or if the pet has more of a chill, calm type of behavior, I will go along with what they are more catered towards. I check on the pet's food and area of the house every few hours and make sure the pet is also feeling happy and calm.
“Amanda did an amazing job with taking care of my fur babies. She was so kind and attentive while she was with them, she gave us updates and photos to let us know they were okay.”

About: I truly adore all animals. To give some background I was a veterinary intern for 3 years throughout high school, as well as dog and cat sitter through this time. While in high school I was involved in 4-H where I raised multiple animals. I then went onto college where I began studying to be a veterinarian. I took pre-vet courses until later transferring to a different major. While at college I worked on a farm where I was responsible for all feeding and cleaning for both AM and PM shifts. I currently have a 5 year old border collie who I’ve raised since he was a puppy. I am comfortable around small and large dogs as well as cats, I am also comfortable administering medications to all sizes of dogs and cats. I treat each pet as if they were my own and hope to work with you and your animals! I am currently a college student so have a pretty flexible schedule. My school schedule is consistent and I’m fairly close to my school making it very easy to drop it before or after I am finished with classes. I love creating enrichment activities for my dog as well as hiking or going on neighborhood walks with him. I’m always thinking of new ways we can get out energy and love to play fetch.
About: For many years, I have cared for animals of all types and sizes, including both house pets and community strays. Some of my favorite memories growing up involve looking after neighborhood cats to make sure they were happy and well-fed. More recently, I've become a proud pet parent to a Siberian cat named Odin (named because he was born with one eye.), and I frequently dog-sit for many of my friends and family. I treat every animal with the same patience, love, and dedicated care I give my own. I am currently in college studying nursing, which naturally helps me stay highly responsible and attentive to a strict schedule. While my routine is pretty flexible overall, during the summer months I will be most available for evening visits. This will soon transition into open mornings and midday blocks, making me the perfect fit for any animals in need of daytime walks and check-ins! My top priority is keeping your pet happy and safe. Having managed care for my own one-eyed cat, Odin, and many family friends' dogs, I know how to spot potential hazards before they can happen. I am always diligent about double-checking door locks and ensuring harnesses are secure so that your pets stay as safe as they can possibly be.
“Amanda went above and beyond taking care of my three puppies, she was so patient with them and it was obvious that they loved her. Thank you Amanda for helping me through the process and for being there for them.”

She is wonderful with our cats!! She is also very considerate to our needs. I have been out of town and had to take my mom to the hospital for emergency care and Anyssa has reassured us that our cats are doing well and she has everything under control at our house; not to worry and take the time we need to heel mom. What more could you ask for?…nothing.
Thank you Karissa for taking care of my pets during my out-of-town trip this past weekend. I really appreciate and admire the care you provided them, your attention to detail, daily updates with photos, and thoughtfulness throughout the period. And thanks to Rover.com as well for the excellent service and updates on the account throughout the period as well. Best wishes to all. Rudy
Cant express how much i would recommend Eliza to anyone who needs their fur babies looked after. She was extremely flexible and understanding with all of my requests, as well as communicated frequently with updates and left no doubt that my pets were all taken care of and cared for while i was away.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Edinburg. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
