About: Hello everyone! My name is Shelly, and I’m excited to care for and work with your beloved pets. I grew up on a dairy farm, where caring for animals wasn’t just a chore—it was a way of life. From milking cows to raising chickens and pigs, and always having a dog and numerous cats around, animals were at the heart of my daily routine. Those early experiences taught me responsibility, consistency, and the importance of attentive, compassionate care. Today, my husband and I run a small hobby farm of our own, where we care for horses, chickens, our beloved dog Luna, and many kitties. Animal care continues to be a central part of my life and is something I truly enjoy. I have also completed additional training and worked extensively with my own horses and dogs. Having been around animals my entire life, I have experience providing a wide range of care, including assisting with livestock deliveries (calves and swine), administering medications, and caring for animals with medical needs, including those associated with aging. I also frequently care for the pets and farm animals of friends and neighbors. I can't help but develop a special bond with each animal I care for. Working with animals is one of my deepest passions. I love to travel and explore the world whenever I can. Through my own experiences, I’ve learned how challenging it can be to find someone who is not only trustworthy, but also experienced and comfortable caring for both household pets and larger farm animals. Having peace of mind while you’re away is invaluable. My goal is simple: to give you the confidence to travel, work, or attend life’s events without worry, knowing your animals are safe, well cared for, and treated like family. Currently, I am home full-time and available 24/7 from June through August, which allows for a very flexible schedule. I return to my full-time position during the last week of August. At that time, my availability will vary, with weekends generally offering the most flexibility. From September through June, my regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. I am committed to working with pet owners to accommodate their needs as best as possible and will do my utmost to ensure your pets receive the care, attention, and consistency they deserve. My pets are part of my family, and I provide them with the highest level of care, love, and attention possible. Their well-being is one of my top priorities. When caring for someone else's pets, I treat them as if they were my own because I understand how much our animals mean to us. I also recognize how important we are to our pets and that being separated from their owners can sometimes be stressful for them. My goal is to provide the comfort, care, and attention they need while maintaining their normal routines as closely as possible. My name is Sierra, I'm currently a medical student at a world renowned Veterinary school - Tufts! 😊 As a future Veterinarian, I am dependable, highly experienced, and dedicated to my work. I have been providing these services for animals of all ages, sizes, and needs for the past 6 years on Rover. I have worked with animals for over 15 years, and I've gathered plenty of experience in administering medication, taking precautions for anxious and elderly pets, and communicating clearly through any and all circumstances. I'm also animal CPR trained, alongside experienced in triaging pets in critical condition. I have graduated as pre-veterinary student at Colorado College, supporting my education and family with the work I'm the most passionate about- Animals!
