“I had a sitter cancel night before for I needed to leave the country and Ana immediately came in to save the day! She has been very patient with my fear aggressive healer and she’s probably the only other person he feels comfortable. Thank you for your help Ana!”

“Savannah exceeded our expectations. Our 3 puppies were so happy with her and fell in love. I got to come home to my puppies who had no anxiety. Can’t wait for her to hang out with them again!”

About: I don’t just watch pets, I build trust with them. By learning their routines and personalities, I create a calm, familiar experience that keeps them happy, comfortable, and stress-free while you’re away. I plan my weekly schedule around the pets in my care to ensure I can meet their specific needs—whether that’s regular walks, medication timing, feeding routines, or extra attention. I keep a consistent routine so pets feel comfortable and owners can rely on dependable care. At this time, I offer pet care exclusively in my client’s home. While I’m not able to host pets in my own space, I’ve found that staying in their home keeps them more relaxed and comfortable. I stick closely to their usual routine, meals, walks, playtime, and any special care so they feel safe and well cared for while you’re gone.
“Kendra is amazing!! From our first meet and greet, she let my 90lb dog give her kisses all over her face and they were comfortable together right off the bat. She gave proactive updates and was great at communicating while we were gone. We will definitely be booking with Kendra again!!”

“We are thrilled with the amazing job Frankie did while taking care of our dog, Mochi. From the moment we met Frankie, it was clear that she genuinely cares for animals. Throughout the entire time, she was incredibly caring and attentive to Mochi’s needs. We especially appreciated the regular updates and photos she sent us, which gave us peace of mind knowing that Mochi was in good hands. Mochi absolutely loved her, and we could tell he was happy and comfortable. We highly recommend Frankie to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate puppy sitter. Thank you, Frankie, for your outstanding service!”

“Clairece took great care of our dog Cooper and made us feel comfortable leaving him with her. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about him. We especially appreciated that she accepted our booking at the last minute after another sitter canceled on us, which was a huge relief. We really appreciated the updates and photos she sent, which helped us know he was doing well while we were away. She followed our instructions, kept him happy and comfortable, and treated him like her own. It was such a relief knowing he was in good hands. We had a great experience and would absolutely book with her again! We’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pet.”

About: I genuinely care for every animal like my own and am very good at following a schedule or routine. I am gentle and empathetic towards every person and animal I meet. I love to make sure that owners will have peace of mind with texts and pictures throughout our time together. I am happy to enforce training habits and am familiar with many different tactics. I am currently working part time from 9:00-3:30 so I am available anytime outside of those hours. I also have holidays off of work. I am also working on school online so my schedule outside of work is very flexible. I care deeply for all of my pets and have grown up around different animals my whole life. I set alarms to make sure I am punctual with feeding times and make sure to write down all of the important details that come with caring for someone’s baby.
“Juliann (nickname is June) was awesome with our fur babies! June sent pictures and messages regularly and wasn’t shy to ask any questions, as they came up, to be sure the best care was given. Our house was clean and taken care of too. I would definitely recommend June to house sit/pet sit, and will definitely be my first call next time I need a sitter! Thx, June! - Erin”
About: I have had several dogs as pets. I practically grew up with them. I learned everything I could about how to take care of animals and even love to train them a little bit. My family and friends always tend to rely on me to not only train their dog a little, but also take care of their pets while they’re gone. I’m currently looking for a more stable job, but am volunteering at Tulare County Animal Services. I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pets in the mean time. I have a medium sized backyard and no other pets in the home at the moment. I have transportation available for any house sitting needed.
About: I have had 3 dogs in the past that I love dearly, I enjoy going on walks with them and I love playing as well. I am currently not working and just taking a summer art class for college. I am free almost every day of the week and any time. Having a fence yard, a good neighborhood to walk around and friendly pets would be great. A good schedule for the times and how much food to give them would be great as well
“Sam was so great with our dog. He needs diabetes medication injected twice a day and she had no problems with that, which is a huge relief. She stayed with him and he had a great time. We will be using Sam again!”

About: I’ve taken care of many kinds of dogs since I was 12 and now I’m 18. I have a big dog of my own that’s playful and loving. I love all dogs and cats because they’re so sweet and caring and give unconditional love. I currently work part-time at McDonald’s so my schedule could be a bit mixed up but on my free time I would love to spend time with pets! I can’t take care of pets in my home because I have no yard. However I would be a great dog walker/babysitter in your lovely pets home!
About: Working remotely from your home or mine I can give your pets the care and love that they deserve. More hugs! More walks! More love! More safety! In rural vt while studying philosophy I cared for small and large homes, and medium to larger dogs. Active pets we are active. Older pets we respite more. It's not a one size fits all. Every animal has a different personality and different needs. I care. They seem to know. lol. On a side note I volunteer with a local animal shelter and a food bank. I try to make a difference where I can. Growing up we had family dogs. It taught me how amazing animals are. I now have time to give them kindness and love as you would... When I stay in your home your pets have less stress and anxiety in a familiar place. In my home or yours, I take pets for walks and caring play time throughout my workday. This care and attention and play reduces stress and your pet may be more relaxed coming home like after a day at the spa. Yup. :-) Working from my home or yours means more care for your loved family member (aka pets)!
About: My family has had dogs and cats since I was young. I have always been respectful and loved to watch Animal Planet & The Discovery Channel. I often love to learn about animal behavior, watching The Dog Whisperer and Jackson Galaxy's show about cat behavior. I am excited to walk, run, and take care of your pet with compassion and understanding. If you have toys, please let me know where they are kept and which are their favorites and I will ensure your pet gets adequate exercise while also having fun. Also, for cleaning - please let me know what products you use and where they are kept in case there are any needs fir clean up. Thank you for checking my profile! I look forward to assisting you and meeting your fur babies. I'm currently open and waiting for school to start. I had a long corporate career and am excited about making a schedule that works for me and also you and your pet. I do not offer service or care in my home but I will listen and ensure the care in your home is followed accurately. Thank you.

FAQs for House Sitting - East Porterville
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 123 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Porterville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Porterville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Porterville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Porterville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
