“Our Daisy Jane loved spending time with Michael. You can really tell he enjoys animals (and they, him!) He sent many photos and his communications with us was exceptional. We highly recommend Michael and will definitely have Daisy stay with him, again.”

“We are so very happy with our experience, Madeleine was so organized and professional, I was very at ease with our meet and greet and drop off/pick up. She was so good to my pup and worked so well with our schedule! I would highly recommend her!”

“Excellent sitter. Took great care of my dachshund over the weekend. Big fenced in yard, lots of room for the dogs to play. He was so exhausted when he got back which is no easy feat! Great communication, loves dogs, easy to work with. Highly recommend!”

“Our dog Chewy was excited to meet Korah the very first time and every time she saw her. Korah is enthusiastic and energetic. She sent pictures & notes every day of how well Chewy did each day. Her notes were reassuring that Chewy was eating, drinking and happy playing with his new friends. It was a great experience for Chewy. We felt confident that Chewy was receiving great care. We will definitely have Korah care for Chewy the next time we are gone.”

“First time using this service and was very pleased. Jennifer R. was great! I have a 10 yr old rescue dog and only had her for little over 1 year so I wasn't sure how she would be with other dogs. Needed a sitter for an overnight and didn't know what I should do. I know Bagels doesn't like to be kenneled. So I found Jennifer on Rover and was the best thing I did. She made me feel better about my choice when I received a text message letting me know my dog was doing well in her care. That was nice to hear and made my day! Definitely will use Jennifer again for watching Bagels! Thank you Jennifer for taking great care of Bagels!”

“Approved a last minute request due to an unexpected need to travel out of town - grateful for that! Was incredibly responsive to communication, sent photos and updates, and created an easy, smooth process for us. Conveniently located in Menomonie, and love that our dog had a fenced in back yard to run in. Would highly recommend!”

“Elizabeth was wonderful and very accommodating! If we ever are in Red Wing and need boarding we will definitely call Elizabeth! She is a great communicator and sent pictures of our Buster and Teddy!!”

“Jess did a great job providing care to my two pups, Joy and Jazzy. She was flexible with their needs and kept me updated with pictures. Thank you, Jess! Aly, Joy and Jazzy ?”

“Our pup is turning 3 in June and we had never left her with anyone. We found Kessia and felt an instant connection. She confidently, but gently assured our pup and us that there was nothing to worry about, and her two pups instantly welcomed ours in playful banter. We have no concerns in leaving our pup with Kessia.”

“Amanda & her family are so great! It was so comforting to know while we were gone for 9 days that both of our dogs were so well cared for. She followed our instructions explicitly and sent us daily updates. It’s clear her family treats the dogs they watch as a member of their family. We will absolutely use Amanda in the future for needs.”

“Alexander cared for my dog exceptionally well. I received photos and videos during the stay and it looked like my dog was having lots of fun. I highly recommend Alexander and will rebook with him for future stays!”

“Tiffany watched our two dogs while we were away on a trip. One dog is old and the other is full of energy. She is amazing and was very loving to our dogs. She sent me pictures and videos daily. I highly recommend her and will hopefully use her service again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Durand
Michael did a wonderful job taking care of our high energy puppy. He was attentive to River's needs and sent a photo of them on a walk soon after we left him. That made me feel at ease as we had never left our dog with anyone before. I would highly recommend Michael for your pet's care!
Mike took wonderful care of my senior Boston Terrier for 12 days while I was on vacation. The daily photos and updates gave me great peace of mind and reassured me that my dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I would absolutely book with Mike again and highly recommend him to others. Thank you again, Mike, for taking such great care of my pup!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Durand home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Durand.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Durand sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
