About: I have been around dogs all my life, and have learned how to properly train them through experience and good mentors. I also have watched much of The Dog Whisperer & other training videos online. I’ve seen critiques of Cesar Milan, with people saying he’s unnecessarily enforcing dominance roles; I only support dominance hierarchies to the extent that it helps the dog. If a dog believes they must be in control because they don’t have a good leader, they will be more stressed out which is unfair to the dog. I will never be unnecessarily rough with your pet, but I may do exercises like leash training to remind them that I am in control, and they don’t need to be in extreme protector mode. I have used this experience with success on friends’ and acquaintances’ dogs, as well as my own. He sits for over a minute until I tell him to Come, for example. Our housemate had a dying dog and I was there alongside him helping her care for him until his last moments. I also believe in reincarnation which helps me really see and have extra patience with each dog as I see them as a soul who is here to learn and experience. My husband and I have a relaxed lifestyle that allows us to be home most days other than side jobs and catering shifts on the weekends. We are in the midst of moving a couple hours east of here, albeit very slowly, so if your pup is with us for a while there’s a chance he or she will get to see the rural area of Middlesex VA and interact with some chickens! Both areas are far away from a main highway or there is a good fence. I have two friendly dogs, a Pomeranian and a whippet mix. We let them in and out as they choose, and have a couple acres for them to run and play on. I love going for runs and walks and would happily bring your pup along, depending on his or her energy level. I have a healthy understanding of how to keep a healthy leash contact with the dog, and if need be, I am quite strong if I need to keep the dog from running.

About: Lifetime dog owner who believes dogs talk with tails, eyes, and barks. Already have had quite an array of characters with great success. Excellent with easing anxiety. Highly motivated to care for your dog, kinda like an aunt or (gasp) grrrr-ma! Years brushing fur, cleaning ears (yuck!) and taking care of teeth. Have nursed wounds, eyes, and minor surgeries until good as new. Already had special guests, including a deaf puppy, an older guy with daily meds, a very itchy fella with medications, and a puppy prone eat first, ask questions later. Most guests needed at least one good brushing and a few got baths after unexpected muddy romps. All visits were great successes with happy pets and grateful owners! All dogs must have up-to-date medical records and humans must follow current resporatory prevention recommendations when dropping off or picking up. I am not currently working so am home and accessible most of the time. If I am out it would be no longer than 4 hours. I keep a regular schedule for them and do my best to keep it the same one you keep. I have a radio fenced yard. All dogs are 100% accompanied outside, leashed. Most dogs bond strongly enough to mosey around the yard and sun themselves on the deck unleashed. Another family member and I play fetch to assure fetchers and zoomies stay in the yard. I NEVER take chances!
9. Anna S.
“Anna was great with our fur baby. Tucker was pleasantly exhausted when we picked him up. Thanks a bunch for caring for him. Yes, we'll use her when we pass thru again.”
10. Danique M.
“Danique is a consummate professional and I would trust no one else ever to watch after my dog. Her caring loving demeanor towards all animals is truly amazing and if she watches your dog(s) your furry family members are genuinely in the best hands ever.”
11. Jessica C.
“Colt had such a great day with Jessica. We were visiting Westmoreland State Park and her doggy daycare flexibility allowed us to enjoy dog friendly and unfriendly activities. He came home happy and tired. Would use again if we return to the area.”
12. Savannah R.
“Savannah is the single most knowledgeable and experienced dog person I've ever met. She has cared for, bathed, and groomed my dogs for over a decade. The dogs love her and I have complete confidence that they're cared for when I'm away from them.”

About: I have been taking care of all kinds of animals my whole life. It started with friends and family and I was referred to more and more people. This isn’t a job for me, but more so something that brings me joy and has always been a passion of mine. For some pets I would only need to check on them a couple times a day, and others were in my full time care for an extended period of time. I’ve mostly watched dogs and cats for others but I do have experience with other types of animals. My house was a jungle growing up- we had snakes, geckos, dogs, rabbits, gerbils, turtles, and fish. Currently I am employed at The Pet Lodge, a boarding, daycare, training, and grooming facility. We are possibly moving to PA or VA towards the end of the year of 2024. My fiancé works from home, and on base some days, so there is almost always somebody home whether it be me or him. There are certain holidays that we travel back home to Wisconsin for, but other than that, we are usually free! We have a big house with a pretty big backyard that is unfenced. We currently have a three year old border collie who is still training but can give your pets all the playtime and love that they need. Our deck was gated off to allow our dogs to be outside without running off, but recently it has broke. We also have a in ground stake and leashes to allow our dogs to hang out in the yard. Since I am employed, I am able to take dog walks anytime on my off days, and on my breaks from 12-2pm on days I work. I can also help with training since we are currently doing so with our dog. I can easily crate your dog if needed, and/or close off certain rooms to keep the dogs separate. Any animals that I watch get our full time attention, meaning plenty of playtime, love, exercise, and training if needed. I can be very flexible depending on the needs of your pet.

19. Shannon S.
“Shannon helped care for my three dogs while I was working long days in my early career or if I was gone for a long weekend. She would take them for long walks and play with them in the back yard to keep their activity up. She upheld our established routine and the dogs were excited to see her everytime. I trusted her fully and she was very dependable when I needed her help last minute.”

About: I've been taking care of family and friends' pets for years and have loved doing it! I also have dogs of my own so I don't mind dog hair or the occasional zoomies. I only work a couple nights a week so I'm almost always available to take care of the pets at any given time and make sure they have time to get their energy out. I have a large yard and a golden retriever of my own to keep your dog company and run around with if wanted. I also have a crate so you don't have to bring yours if its an overnight or day stay. I can follow any diet restrictions as needed and any other instructions.
