About: I've taken care of dogs my whole life! From little shi tzus to giant retrievers, excitable put bulls, and even large packs of dogs! Think yours are a handful? Try raising 12 Golden's at once! I've always been naturally good with dogs and I'm more than willing to work with the more stuborn ones so don't worry if your fur baby is a little standoffish. I am currently working another job so I'd prefer bookings to be at least 2 weeks in advance but if my schedule happens to be free I'm happy to take same week bookings as well! I do my best to keep dogs happy and active so they can wear themselves out for cuddle time and you get to come home to a peaceful pup!
“Almost forgot to leave a review! Kristi was great when she stayed at our house to watch Sydney for almost a week. As always, she took great care and attention while taking care of our pup and left the house in tip top shape! If you’re looking for a dog sitter, Kristi is perfect!”

“Lauren was amazing! She sent daily updates with pictures and went above and beyond doing extras like organizing my daughters cat area and making sure our fridge was free of old foods. She was sweet with our two dogs and cat. Very responsive to texts! Highly recommend!”

“Tabitha was such a blessing! She took good care of Emmie and gave her lots of snuggles while we were gone on a work trip. When Emmie was missing us and didn't want to eat, she added to wet dog food to the dry stuff to entice her to eat.”

“Emily did a great job. She was communicative, professional, and my animals loved her. It was evident that she loves animals. She was really helpful in not just one, but two last minute situations where I needed help. I highly recommend her and will certainly be looking to use her in the future.”

“Penny was excellent with the full day care of our two dogs, one being blind. She sent numerous pics throughout the day . Carried our blind dog out to go and walk outside a bit, played with our GSD. We will definitely use her again, she is a professional and very caring.”

“Annie is an amazing dog sitter - she stayed with our two dogs, one being a 5 month old puppy, at our rental while we were busy with family wedding events. She sent lots of updates and photos, which made us feel totally at ease. The dogs clearly loved being with her. Highly recommend!”

“Julia was amazing, flexible, respectful and professional. I will definitely use her again. We need up only needing her for about 7 hours but originally planned on 3-4 days not due to her. I look forward to having her back. Recommend her.”

About: I’ve grown up with cats and dogs my entire life, and since I was a fairly young child I was taught to be responsible with pets as my mom was a vet tech. I work Thursday 12-5 and 5-10 on Friday/Saturday, so I can easily take dogs on walks in the afternoon during the nicest part of the day on most week days, as well as Sunday! I have my own car and will be super happy to pick up your pup to go on walks, and I have experience with house sitting prior so I am experienced with using alarm systems in homes.
“Was a joy to have Hallie in our home with Max. He is diabetic and requires alot of special attention with shots and medication. She is very attentive and loves animals. I would recommend her services to anyone. Can’t wait to use her again.”

About: I have had dogs all my life. I currently have two golden retrievers who run my world! One is 4 and the other is 8 months old. I am available to stay at your house overnight and during long periods of time. I am a full time ultrasound student in Louisville but my school schedule is very flexible so I can come home to let the pups out multiple times per day! I am currently a full-time sonography student in Louisville, but my class schedule is very flexible. I am also available all weekends. I am able to stay overnight and take your pups out multiple times per day. I have two golden retrievers of my own (they are cared for by my dad when I am gone so they would not be coming with me) and they are SPOILED rotten. I will make sure your pup is the same! I am very active and love going on walks so that would be a part of our daily activities.
“Great job, won cats over quickly, even our scaredy cat. Stuck to the schedule given. Did overnights for us, I never doubted his integrity with our house or personal items, very trustworthy.”

About: I’ve grown up since I was little in a multi-pet household, including dogs, cats, and more! As an adult, I’ve been the go-to dog and cat sitter for my friends and family. I have extensive experience caring for medically difficult dogs, cats, and even hedgehogs! I’m located in southern Indiana, but work in Louisville, ensuring I’m just right across the bridge no matter which side you’re standing on! As a night owl with flexible working hours during the day, I’m able to check in on your fur babies at almost any time. I am experienced in providing excellent pet care in many different home environments and have been trusted by family and friends to promote safe and peaceful experiences with their pets all from the comfort of their usual environment.
“Allie is responsible, trustworthy, and checked in with us daily! She took excellent care of our pup and our home for one week. We are delighted to have met her and hope she will dog and home sit for us again in the future!”

About: I grew up around pets my whole life, and I love spending time with animals. I treat every dog like they’re my own and make sure they get plenty of love and attention while they’re with me. Boarding dogs stay in my home and have access to a securely fenced yard to run around and play. I also have a nearby park for walks. Pet care is my full-time job, so I have a flexible schedule and can plan my days around the pets I’m caring for. Boarding dogs get plenty of attention and aren’t left alone for long periods of time. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Duncan
Alyssa did an amazing job for us. We have 1 large and 2 medium sized dogs, and they can be a handful and are terribly spoiled. She was able to make friends with them quickly, even the shy one, and in all the pictures and updates, they looked pretty darn happy and content. She left the house in just the condition it was when we left, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services to anyone, and we'll definitely call her again should we need someone to stay with our pups. She's the best!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Duncan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Duncan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Duncan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Duncan. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
