“Jocelin and Christian did an exceptional job caring for our pups. Jocelin shared pictures daily and made extra effort to give them the exercise our high energy young ones need. I highly recommend Jocelin for boarding your dogs.”

“This was the best first experience using Rover! Meagan and her family was great! They cared very well for Rocko and made him feel at home. I'll definitely book Meagan again on my next adventure!”

“Dana, watched our two dogs (Luna & Tater) and all went great. We received daily text updates with pictures, which was very nice. She did a wonderful job, the dogs did super. We would highly recommend Dana. She provided a warm and caring place we can trust to leave our dogs for the weekend. Thanks! Sean & Sandy”

“Cash had the best time on his weekend stay with Aly. He had a Super Bowl party with new friends! I got lots of updates and could tell he was happy and relaxed. When I went to pick him up he said hello and trotted right back inside, he was not ready to leave! I know he will be so excited to go back to his new vacation house whenever we have to leave town!”

“Jessica truly went above and beyond while taking care of our dog Frank! She provided many updates and pictures and we knew he was in great care! She is amazing with dogs and would absolutely use her again!”

“Makaylah was absolutely wonderful. I needed very last minute overnight accommodations for my pup, and ended up needing an extra day of care. Makaylah was so kind and flexible. My dog (who is often nervous with new people for a few minutes) took to her immediately, and it made me feel so comfortable leaving her, and I got morning and evening texts with sweet pictures and updates on how she was doing. I would highly recommend Makaylah to anyone!”

“I left my pup with Edith over the holidays and she had a great time. There was a fenced in yard she got to tire herself out in running around with the friends she made with Edith's dogs. If the dogs didn't get along, there are different areas in the house to keep them separated, so there was never any worry that my pup would have a comfortable stay.”

About: I grew up on a mini farm surrounded by animals — from lizards and hermit crabs to dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets of all ages and needs, from anxious puppies and kittens to senior dogs with health or mobility challenges, as well as cats with special needs. Every pet in my care receives the same love and attention I would give my own. I’m available to provide flexible care around errands and appointments, giving your pets love, attention, playtime, companionship, and comfort throughout the day, tailored to each pet’s needs. When caring for pets in your home, I follow your routines carefully to ensure comfort and familiarity. Pets are supervised at all times, with fresh water, treats, and attention. I maintain feeding schedules, potty breaks, and playtime, adapting to any special needs, mobility issues, or anxieties. Safety, consistency, and love are my priorities, so your pet feels secure and cared for while you’re away. In my home, I introduce pets safely, separating them from my own during initial meetings. I provide a secure space for each pet and use mini fencing to ensure safety, even though my property is not fully fenced. I follow the same level of care and safety as I would in your home.
“Our dog had a great stay with Heather! She really helped us out when we forgot to pack his food. Would highly recommend Heather as a caretaker for your dog.”

“Mary Alice is amazing. She took on our Wren at the last minute and during our meet and greet, not only was I completely comfortable, but Wren was as well. She’s loving and professional. We will definitely ask her to watch Wren again.”

“Ruth was so wonderful with our pups! It was a very last minute stay and she was super communicative and very timely in responding. She sent us a bunch of updates and photos of them. I know they had an excellent time because they were super worn out when we picked them up. We were just passing through Virginia, but if we weren’t Ruth would be our go-to dog sitter.”

“This is a long over due review! I left my pup with Joey for about half a week and he is great. The Instagram stories are a great and creative way to show what your pup is up to! But more importantly he understands dog behavior. If you are considering him for any services at all, let this be your sign to stress no longer!!”

“Our pups enjoyed their stay with Anne! It was easy to communicate with her and she sent lots of photos and updates. She took great care of them and we would use her again in the future. Thanks Anne!”
“She took super good care of our puppers and followed all of our care instructions! We left our dog for a whole week while we went down to Mexico and we didn’t worry about him cause we knew he was in great hands. Will book with Reilly again!”
About: I have grown up with big dogs such as pit bulls and huskies and love them dearly I really love how playful and caring they are. I trained both my family pitties since they were puppies I’m currently only working 30hrs a week can board for you starting Sunday nights till early Wednesday morning have space for animals to play and run I live in a house on a 1 acre property no fences so as long as your dog is properly trained and no risk of them running away I don’t mind letting them roam free if not I can just walk them around on a leash. As for cats same difference I have a back patio to allow them to be in the sun and have fresh air and all the space they deserve
About: I've loved dogs for a long time, and have a 3 year old blue heeler mix who loves playing with my two little ones. We have trained her together and she has become a wonderful addition to our home. We would love to welcome a doggy playmate while you are out of town, or need someone to care for your fur baby! I am a stay at home mom with two small children, and my husband works remotely, so we are both quite flexible with our time and will be able to provide lots of attention to your pup during boarding, and are available for day care and dog walks/check ins most days! We have a yard that is fully fenced, and a friendly 25lb. dog for your pup to play with. We are also able to provide toys, a crate, and playpen for smaller dogs if needed.
“Samantha was great, flexible, and clearly loves and understands dogs. Our little Maltipoo had a great time hanging out with her and her dog. We will definitely use her again when we're in the area.”

About: I have had pets all my life. Right now I have a rescue dog from China and another dog I just adopted from the culpeper shelter! I have 2 cats as well. One of my cats is a tripod therefore needs extra attention. The other cat is an orange boy so you know he’s a handful. I am in between jobs so I have plenty of time watch your pup! My husband also works from home 2 days a week. NO CHILDREN in the home. I have a very large quiet yard to let your dog out to play (fenced in) . I have room to set up crates and food stations. Must be friendly towards other dogs and ok with being crated during bedtime.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
99% of sitters in Duet can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Duet home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Duet.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
