“Jadyn was fantastic! She took wonderful care of our pets while we were away, and it was clear from the moment we got home how comfortable and happy they were. She also took great care of our house and even left us kind compliments about our home, which was very sweet. Communication was great throughout, and we came back to a happy household and a well-kept home. We'd absolutely book Jadyn again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive pet sitter!”

“This was my first time using Rover and everything went so well with Natalie! She followed my instructions perfectly and provided me with updates while she was house sitting with my dog! Would definitely recommend! :)”

About: I am begining my pet care journey and desire to build long lasting relationships with families who value a having peace of mind knowing their dog is safe, excited, and loved while you are way. Pet sitting is much more than feeding and taking them to potty. Your dogs should have play time, snuggles, and great naps with someone who loves cares for them like their owners would. Thank you for considering me to take care of your pets, keeping their routines, and following all your instructions. I am looking forward to caring for your furry companions. I am a junior physical education major at Southern Wesleyan University. I am dependable, detail oriented, and compassionate. I have had many pets in my life and love each one of their personalities and loving hearts. I want to gain experience in this field to not only earn money for my education, but to gain understanding of the animals that make me forget the worries of this life. My schedule changes every semester, but I can consistently be available from 7pm to 7am on the weekdays and can stay at your house. While you are away I will also take care of house keeping duties like taking out the trash, washing the dishes, and keeping the house tidy. I will be more available on the weekends to play, walk, and entertain your furry family. I will not be available to board animals, but I will keep your pets safe in their home. All dogs need exercise, but keeping them safe is very important. I will walk dogs on leashes only and will never take your dog to a dog park. The environment may be great for socialization, but their is also a potential for dog on dog violence. I would also like to pet sit in neighborhoods, subdivisions, or gated communities so I can walk your pet in a safe place while also having neighbors to call in case of an emergency. I take your pets safety seriously. I would rather limit their play to a few places than to put them in danger. Your pet cannot be happy if they sense danger or are placed in an environment than increase their anxiety.
“Lee was really great! He was very affectionate and attentive with our boy. He watched our dog for a week and he had anxiety diarrhea a few times, which was most likely a complete disaster on the carpets. Lee did his best to clean it up. We could tell he really tried to get it clean. The house looked great when we got home and most importantly our dog seemed happy and healthy. Your pet and or home will be in good hands him. We highly recommend Lee and will use him again in the future.”

“Sketcher did great housesitting our anxious 2 yr old dog and 11 yr old indoor cat. She was good at communicating promptly during booking and during the stay. We came home to happy pets and everything was as expected.”

About: I’ve taken care of my community’s pets since I was 17. I’ve cared for almost all kinds of pets. Cats, dogs, birds, lizards, you name it! I always try to go the extra mile so that pet parents not only come home to a happy, healthy pet; but a clean and well-cared for home! I am a middle school band director who works 7-3 most days. However, I can go before and after school care and I can spend nights! My kittens get fed twice a day, they get a new toy once a month and go to the vet once a month! They also have their litter box scooped every night and cleaned once a week. They even sleep in the bed with me. If I’m caring for dogs, they go on at least 3 walks a day of varying length (depending on the dog). I frequently watch a 13 year old pug who can’t stay out very long, so he goes on 3, 10-minute walks a day. However, if your dog has the endurance to go on a longer walk/run with me - I’ll take them up to 3 miles!
“I am so grateful for Aubrey’s attentive care to our dogs and our house during our trip. She is a professional who goes above and beyond expectations, and the dogs absolutely love her. We wish we had met her sooner, and I am certain the dogs feel the same way! Many thanks to her for giving us complete peace of mind during our trip!”

“Stephanie was an AMAZING sitter! She took perfect care of our two dogs, Ares & Ariel. She went above and beyond expectations, gained their trust, and quickly became one of their favorite people (and mine, too!). She is trustworthy, down to earth, and so helpful. I will definitely book with her again!”

About: I’ve had dogs of many different breeds since I was born, so I’m experienced with just about every type of dog. I currently have two miniature dachshunds and devote my time to them and to full time pet sitting. I also frequently care for my sister’s two dogs, who I consider my niece and nephew, a female poodle, Vivienne, and a male Maltese-Bichon Frise, Wally, six and three years old, respectively. Also my mother recently adopted a puppy from the shelter, we think he is a french bulldog/boston terrier/boxer mix, his name is Griswald and I looove him. I love dogs of all kinds and sizes, and I volunteer with Pug Rescue Austin when I can. My favorite (and only) form of exercise is dog walking, and I would love to care for your dog-child. I’m currently dog-sitting full time, so I am free to devote all my time to taking care of your dog. My dogs stay with their grandmother when I’m boarding a dog, so your dog-child will receive my full attention ❣️🐕 I make sure that the area is safe, clean, and has plenty of toys. Your baby is always allowed on my furniture, couch, bed, everything; to make themselves at home and hang out and cuddle with me. I maintain a feeding, walking, and potty time schedule.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of October 2026, there are 546 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Due West. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Due West walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Due West maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Due West choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
