Having raised four dogs of my own, all of whom have completed puppy training classes, I have a strong understanding of canine behaviors and am familiar with common commands and training techniques. I believe in recognizing each pet's unique personality and quirks, which helps me tailor my approach to their needs. Whether it’s daily dog walks, overnight stays, or drop-in visits, I take a personalized approach to care, ensuring that each animal’s routine is respected to minimize stress and keep things familiar. I also understand that some animals, especially dogs, can be excited by new experiences. That's why I always allow pets to get to know me on their own terms, respecting their space and comfort levels. I’m also comfortable administering medications as needed to ensure they’re receiving the care they require. Living on a small hobby farm with a mini donkey, mini horse, chickens, and barn cats gives me a unique understanding of farm animal care as well. While I cannot board animals on our property, I am available to provide attentive care in your home or wherever your pets feel most at ease. Since I work from home, I frequently check in on my own animals throughout the day, which allows me to offer flexible and responsive care for your pets, too. I work from home on a small hobby farm, so I’m always around and able to stay on top of things for the animals in my care. My own pets are a big part of my day, whether I’m checking in on the farm animals or taking my dogs for walks and playtime. Since I’m home throughout the day, I have a lot of flexibility when it comes to scheduling drop-in visits or overnight stays. With a little notice and depending on distance, I can easily fit these into my routine and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, even while you're away. Having my own animals at home also means I’m constantly in tune with their needs, and it’s easy for me to stay organized and keep track of any special care requirements. I’m always checking in on them and adjusting as needed, which allows me to provide consistent, reliable care for both my own pets and those I look after. When I care for pets, I try to stick to their usual routine as much as possible. At my place, my pets have free access to the house while we are home, but I know not all animals are comfortable with that. If needed, I’m happy to crate a dog or set up a quiet, safe space where they can relax. I also make sure they have fresh water, comfy bedding, and some toys or something familiar to keep them occupied. When I’m watching pets in your home, I follow your guidelines for feeding, exercise, and anything else that helps your pet feel comfortable. I try to keep things as close to their normal routine as I can—whether that’s sticking to their favorite spots for naps or making sure playtime and walks happen just like usual.
