About: Growing up I always had dogs and would constantly watch dogs 101 and vet shows. I learned their language to better connect with them especially if they have anxiety. Right now I am raising 3 cats and caring for my elderly dog who has seizures so I know how to handle a situation when it come to it along with schedule medications. My dog also only chooses me to cuddle with during thunderstorms so if your pup has a fear of storms while you're gone you can rest assure I'm making them feel as safe as possible. I have pretty big gaps between my day schedule, between school and work. I have time for morning, afternoon and night visits. I usually get out of work 830 the latest so medication will be able to be given before too late in the night In the client's home I would normally make sure I can see their pet at all times to guarantee no accidents happen on my watch. I also depending on the breed and personality of the dog will walk them or give them enrichment more often as needed.
“Megan was an excellent sitter. I need help last minute because I had to be in the hospital during the storm for 48 hours straight. Megan made sure my dogs were well cared for with meals, walks, and lots of love/attention. One of my dogs also needed medication and she was able to provide. Would love to have her back!”

About: I have loved and cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds for several years. Friends and family regularly rely on me to feed, walk, play with, and look after their pets. I am highly responsible, energetic, and dedicated to making sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved while you are away. Whether they need a long walk or some cozy couch cuddles, I’ve got it covered! I am currently a student with classes only on Mondays and Wednesdays. Aside from my Sunday night assignment deadlines, my schedule is incredibly open and flexible. This gives me plenty of dedicated time throughout the week and weekends to fully focus on, walk, and play with your beloved pups! I specialize in caring for pets directly in the comfort of your own home, where they feel most safe and secure. While I do have a fully fenced backyard and can crate dogs if absolutely necessary, I prefer traveling to your house to maintain your dog's regular routine, environment, and peace of mind.
About: I’ve cared for multi-diverse manner dogs for 15+ years. I have experience and certification in behavior therapy. So I understand motivation, reinforcement, and attending to differing array of expressed behaviors, as-well as creating behavior interventions plans to train for appropriate/desired behaviors for clients. I’m a voice actor, so my schedule is as I dictate it to be. I’ve got commitments, however I’ve got loads of freedom to attend to dogs full-time. It’s a true joy. When I render services I’d like you to consider your lovely pet on a holiday surrounded by private security. They will be safe in my fenced neighborhood, I will be present and interactive, and will bring so much fun they’ll be bouncing to come back. All my family and friends love pets and show much affection. My place will be an extension of your family — if you’ll have us.
“Sophia was a huge help watching our dogs for the second time while we were on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, my dog Blue got sprayed by a skunk while we were gone but Sophia made us feel much more at peace. She immediately notified us of the situation, took Blue to the vet, and bathed her. We were very grateful!”

“I’m selective to say the least when finding care for our fur babies, especially now that our 12-yr old pup has various health issues. Our baby girl requires insulin shots x2/day and needs to relieve herself every couple of hours. Did I mention she’s not a fan of said shots and stubborn to boot? And this is where Tory comes in to ease every worry and the crazy guilt we had about leaving her. She was an utter rockstar; I couldn’t have put together a more perfect dog sitter from scratch. Tory followed their routine to a T, and she provided consistent updates and pics. Her communication and quick responses were superb, bar none. And while 100% not expected at all, she cleaned the bed sheets and towels making our return home even less stressful. I want to keep her on retainer 😂 In all seriousness, she was a blessing and just what the doctor ordered for us to have a relaxing vacation while knowing our girls were well taken care of. We can’t give Tory enough praise ♥️”

About: Raised animals with lots of love most of life. Puppies all the way to seniors. My last two senior fur babies crossed the rainbow bridge recently so I am missing that thing only an animal could provide! Can't wait to be "walking on sunshine" with your babies! Being semi-retired, I have tons of free time to care for your sweet fur babies. I am available through the week, weekends and/or holidays. Love being with animals Right now, I am available for sitting in clients home only. Lots of love and cuddles, along with following any specific instructions to care for each pet
“Ashley was perfect. Her communication was great. She consistently sent updates on Bishop with pictures and videos. She was extremely thorough. Ashley treated my home and pet with care and respect. I came home to a happy dog. Could not recommend her enough.”

About: I live in a very dog-friendly neighborhood right in front of a waterside park, which means plenty of outdoor time, fresh air, and sunshine for your pup. About: Dogs have been a consistent and meaningful part of my life for years, and caring for animals is something I approach with intention, structure, and deep respect for their individual needs. I began walking neighborhood dogs in high school, cared for my own dog, Lady, for 15 years, and began fostering in 2024 in her honor. Since then, I have fostered 8 dogs, including multiple litters of puppies and adult dogs with a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and medical needs. My experience includes bottle feeding, potty training, basic training, senior care, medical recovery, and working with shy, anxious, reactive, and high-energy dogs. This has given me a strong ability to read behavior, adjust my approach, and create a calm, structured environment that supports each dog’s wellbeing. I currently have cats in my home, and any boarding or in-home care is thoughtfully considered in advance to ensure safe and appropriate compatibility. I prioritize slow introductions, supervision, and clear routines so animals feel secure and stress is minimized. I live an active lifestyle, and dogs in my care receive consistent walks, enrichment, and attention. I am comfortable with crate training, medications, and caring for multiple pets when appropriate, always prioritizing safety, structure, and stability. My approach is simple: thoughtful care, clear communication, and a calm environment where animals feel safe, understood, and well supported. Pet care is intentionally built into my daily routine, and I approach each booking with structure and consistency so pets feel secure and settled. I organize my day around feeding schedules, walks, enrichment, and check-ins, creating a predictable rhythm that supports each animal’s comfort and behavior. I am typically present throughout the day, with occasional short absences for workouts or errands, and I plan my schedule in advance to ensure I can fully meet the needs of each pet I take on. I only accept bookings when I am confident I can provide attentive, reliable care and maintain a calm environment. I provide calm, structured, and highly attentive care rooted in extensive hands-on experience with fosters, reactive dogs, puppies, seniors, and medically complex animals. I currently have cats in my home, so any in-home care is thoughtfully evaluated in advance to ensure safe, appropriate, and stress-free compatibility. I am comfortable with crate training, medications, and supporting a wide range of behavioral needs, and I take care to ensure each pet’s environment is calm, predictable, and well-managed. When caring in a client’s home, I follow established routines closely to maintain continuity and reduce stress, treating each home with respect and professionalism. I accept bookings when I can fully support the needs of the pet and provide the level of care I would expect for my own.

FAQs for House Sitting - Double Bayou
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 465 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Double Bayou. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Double Bayou walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Double Bayou maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Double Bayou choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Double Bayou. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
