“Jade did a great job! This is the first time that my wife and I, had a cat/house sitter and we were very fortunate to have found Jade. She was excellent. The kiddies loved her and warmed up to her very quickly. She kept the house clean and abided by our rules during her stay. She sent us pictures of our babies, while we were gone, and kept us informed of what was happening everyday. I feel that she is very trustworthy and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter. We plan on using her again.”

“Jocelyn was absolutely amazing with my two senior bulldogs! She took care of all the special needs they have like eye drops and medications, and even got up in the middle of the night for a one of my dogs potty break. She just exceeded my expectations in every way, even being willing to put some water on some new plants, which was not part of the job. I came home to a clean house, and my dogs were in great shape. I definitely recommend her and will be using her again!!”

About: My dad always had and trained dogs when I was growing up. I enjoy spending time with them and getting to know their personalities. Dogs are a wonderful part of a family and teach us about relationships. I work 4 days a week. I’m available 24/7 Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I’m also available Thursday evenings after 6 pm. I live in a pet approved apartment complex where we have plenty of walking areas for pets. They will need to be leash trained or small enough I can carry them to our fenced in pet area for potty/ outdoor play time. I have two cats but have no problem with keeping them put up in my bedroom while your pet is staying with me. They are both spayed and neutered and have their vaccines. I would love to have your pet stay or I can come to you.
“Terri is absolutely our new favorite petsitter. She housesat our dog for 5 days. Our dog had lots of needs emotionally and physically and she was able to accommodate our pet and provide the attention, time, and medication hd needed. Terri left our home in the way we left it, and she took good care of our little dog. She is an excellent communicator and went above and beyond. I am very particular and i would absolutely recommend this sitter and we will use her again and again. Thank you Terri! ?”

About: I’m really good with both puppies and older pets because I know they need extra attention and patience. I’m also great at keeping pets calm and happy while you’re away, so you can trust me to give them all the love and care they deserve! I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available for boarding on weekends, and weekdays after 3:30! When I care for pets at my place, I make sure they have plenty of playtime, comfy spots, and regular meals. If I’m at their home, I stick to their usual routine so they feel safe and relaxed. Either way, I’m always there to give them lots of attention and love!
“We feel so fortunate to have found Sydni to watch our 2 GSDs! She’s sweet, caring, and most importantly—responsible. We returned to some extremely happy and relaxed pups and a tidy house. Loved the pics she would send of the dogs and catch us up on their day. Thanks so much for being such a great sitter! Now, we can feel more at ease about leaving our fur kids and we’re glad we found her!”

“Madison was great. We used her home sitting services and was well worth. She made us feel comfortable with it being our first time. Our pets were well cared for. Madison will definitely be our new go to!”

“Lyla is great with our pups. She was willing to come meet us and our pups before her stay. She kept in contact with us while we were gone. She even took the time to send pictures of the pups activities!! We would definitely have her again!”

About: Hi there, my name is Acey! Thank you for trusting me to keep your fur-child safe, loved, and happy while you’re at work/out of town/busy with life. Pets are a part of the family, and you can’t leave your fur children with just anyone. I can definitely empathize with the stress of finding dog care as I have a 4 year old Aussiedoodle named Alfie and he is the light of my life. I truly think of him as my child and I am VERY particular about who I entrust with his care. So you can trust me when I say, I will treat your fur baby like they are my own. What that means: 1. I take Alfie for 1-2+ walks a day and 1+ hour of fetch (exercise is important in this house) (all dependent on the heat) 2. We do lots of training (basic obedience and tricks) - if you want your pup to join in on the fun, I am happy to do training with them too!! 3. Alfie has had advanced training and is super friendly. This dog has never met a stranger (excluding the vacuum- not a fan). 4. we play A LOT!! 5. We are a big cuddle puddle, I will let your pup on the couch/sleep in the bed if he/she is allowed/wants to! or I have a dog bed in my room and another in my living room. 6. PICTURES! I take pictures of Alfie constantly, so you will get GREAT pictures of your pup. 7. I will check in with you several times through the day (unless you would prefer less communication) to let you know how your pup is doing! 8. Safety is my #1 priority. One thing you should know - I will absolutely fall in love with your dog, so repeat clients preferred!! Services Provided: Dog Training (Basic Obedience/tricks), Dog Walking, Basic Grooming, Daily Visits, Potty Breaks, Exercise, Dog Park Trips, Overnights, Extended Overnights & Around the Clock Care. On the weekends I have a very laid back schedule. I take alfie out every hour, sometimes more, I do a short walk in the morning, one at lunch, and a long walk or play before dinner. Alfie uses the bells to let me know what he needs so if he wants to go for an extra walk then we usually do. I have one dog, Alfie. He is a mini aussiedoodle and he is great with other dogs, cats, babies, etc. He is really the biggest lover. My mom (whom I currently live with) has two aussies that are a little anxious and keep to each other. But they too also get along great with other animals. I have one cat, Greta who mostly just sleeps and keeps to herself.
“Jamie is AMAZING! She took beautiful care of our animals. Did everything we asked and then some to make sure they were comfortable. We got to enjoy our vacation completely because we knew Jamie was with our fur babies. We definitely will be using her again.”

Excellent experience from start to finish. Our sitter was punctual, communicative, and clearly experienced with dogs. Bulliet and Kingo both require a bit of individual attention, and our sitter handled that perfectly. The house was spotless when we returned, and our dogs were happy and calm. Highly recommend for anyone looking for reliable, caring pet care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dothan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dothan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dothan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
