“Eliane and her husband were more than accommodating. I have a 12 year old dog who struggles with anxiety so finding a family to take care of my baby was a bit stressful. Upon messaging Elaine about her availability she immediately proposed a meet and greet. I was nervous Sepia wouldn’t get along with her own two dogs but it went wonderfully! Elaine and her husband were flexible with my tentative schedule and offered to host sepia for the night when I found out I needed to leave extremely early the next morning. With my crazy work schedule, I will 100% go straight to Elaine and Steven. Sepia clearly made herself at home ? and was spoiled with treats and endless love.”
About: I have built my life around loving and caring for animals. I have been with my local SPCA for 11 years and have been president for 8 years. My family has rescued and loved many animals throughout our lives and I would like nothing more than to extend that love to your pets. I am available at all times as I have retired and most of my SPCA volunteer work is done from my home. If for whatever reason I am not going to be there I will make sure you will be informed prior to my absence and my husband is available in the rare instance I am not. I have a dog boarding facility that can house up to 17 dogs of all sizes. There is a large outdoor play area and nice cozy accommodations including indoor and outdoor runs. Dogs have access to one on one play (including private walks) as well as group play depending on your preference and dog temperament.
“Kayce was amazing! Our request was very last minute but she was very accommodating and flexible. Bree took to her home very quickly. We were able to enjoy our day with no stress knowing Bree was in good hands. Kayce communicated often and we never had to ask or pry for an update. We will absolutely reach out to Kayce if we are in the area again and 100% recommend her services to everyone! This was our first time using Rover and we were lucky enough to have such a positive experience that we will definitely be using it again.??”

“Christine and Nick are absolutely incredible with our German Shepherd, Aurora. This was her first time staying away from home and socializing with other dogs, and they made her feel completely safe, loved, and part of the family. They followed her routine, handled her quirks with confidence and compassion, and kept us updated the entire time. Aurora always comes home exhausted, happy, and clearly well cared for. We’re so grateful to have found such trustworthy and experienced sitters— Highly recommend!”

“Persephone had a great time at Alison's house. Her pup Kinsley became fast friends with my pup. She was always excited rvery morning for daycare. Alison kept me updated with pictures and videos. Highly recommended!”

“Jeanette was great! She was able to accommodate Romeo in a very short time frame, and had to wake up early for the drop off. She kept me updated and Romeo loved her! Overall great experience.”

About: Hi my names Amadi. Thanks for taking a second to check out my profile! I have a little over 15 years of experience in training dogs, helping with socialization skills, and general caretaking. Currently I work from home, a light schedule as I’m testing to obtain another specialty license. In my daily life I used to foster dogs for a rescue. Most of my fosters came from very rough beginnings and had many social and/or anxiety issues but we have been able to overcome them💙 With that being said I totally understand how some dogs are unsure of new people and I’m 100% willing to take the time needed to get to know your fur baby. I do currently have an iguana in his own enclosure and I have extensive reptile knowledge and I’m willing to assist with those as well. I currently have a light schedule that I work from home, so I am available for a lot of pet care needs. I do frequent bathroom visits play, and meal time. I am 100% about safety first. I will not accept any new dogs that will put anyone else in jeopardy. Although I have experience in housing a large number of dogs from my time fostering out in Goochland, and my time working in a doggy daycare, I do not wish to take on a large number of dogs at any one time.
“Abby, had great communication with me while our pup was there. She sent me pics which helped put our minds at ease. What sold me on her was that within 5 minutes of me reaching out with our dogs info and request for care she responded back with her address ready to take him immediately. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely be using her services!”

“We had such a great experience with our sitter through the Rover app. She was incredibly accommodating and adjusted seamlessly to our schedule, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. From the moment Tilley arrived, it was clear she genuinely cared for her like one of her own pets. She kept me updated, made sure Tilley was comfortable, and gave her so much love and attention during her stay. Her home had more than enough space for Tilley to feel relaxed and active, and I really appreciated how intentional she was about keeping her engaged with daily activities and playtime. Tilley came home happy, well cared for, and clearly enjoyed her time there. It gave me real peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands, and I would absolutely trust her to watch Tilley again in the future.”

About: We love our fur babies and have been fostering dogs and cats for years. Every dog becomes a member of our family while they are here! Our furniture is pet-friendly and we have a fenced in back yard. We love to go to the park and hike with our dogs when the weather is pleasant! 🐾 Health & Vaccination Policy 🐾 For the safety and well-being of all pets in my care, I require that all dogs are up-to-date on the following vaccinations: • Rabies • DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza) • Bordetella (kennel cough) Puppies must have completed their full vaccination series appropriate for their age. I may request proof of vaccinations prior to your booking, especially for boarding or daycare stays where pets may be in shared spaces. Additionally: • Dogs should be free of fleas, ticks, and any contagious illnesses • Please let me know if your pet has recently been sick or exposed to illness • Pets showing signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, etc.) may need to reschedule for everyone’s safety I truly care about creating a safe, clean, and stress-free environment for every pet. Thank you for helping me keep all my furry guests happy and healthy! 🐶💛 I have plenty of free time to play with your pets, as I work from home part time. We love walks, so a well behaved dog is always welcome on our walks with us. The children in my life are also dog lovers and will be happy to snuggle, play and dote on your fur baby, too. I have a fenced in yard, a pet friendly home and I have a large crate, if needed. For anxious dogs, I have the space to keep your fur baby apart from other animals in my home.
“Griff loves G! She gives him lots of attention, affection, and always makes him feel part of the family. Griff really appreciates the sniffing adventures she plans for him. Thanks G for providing my pup with great care and love!”

“Adam and Beau is a match made in heaven! Beau apparently played it cool during his visit; he had “checked out” Adam’s home on our initial visit and settled in pretty easily during his longer stay.”
“Amanda is hands down a five-star sitter! She watched my dog all day and did an incredible job managing her high energy; she really went above and beyond to get all those "zoomies" out, and I picked up a very happy, tired pup. Her communication was also top-notch throughout the day, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. If you’re looking for someone reliable who truly knows how to engage with dogs, I highly recommend booking with Amanda!”

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - DeWitt
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 225 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across DeWitt. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your DeWitt commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 225 sitters in DeWitt, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
