“Eliane and her husband were more than accommodating. I have a 12 year old dog who struggles with anxiety so finding a family to take care of my baby was a bit stressful. Upon messaging Elaine about her availability she immediately proposed a meet and greet. I was nervous Sepia wouldn’t get along with her own two dogs but it went wonderfully! Elaine and her husband were flexible with my tentative schedule and offered to host sepia for the night when I found out I needed to leave extremely early the next morning. With my crazy work schedule, I will 100% go straight to Elaine and Steven. Sepia clearly made herself at home ? and was spoiled with treats and endless love.”
“Kayce was amazing! Our request was very last minute but she was very accommodating and flexible. Bree took to her home very quickly. We were able to enjoy our day with no stress knowing Bree was in good hands. Kayce communicated often and we never had to ask or pry for an update. We will absolutely reach out to Kayce if we are in the area again and 100% recommend her services to everyone! This was our first time using Rover and we were lucky enough to have such a positive experience that we will definitely be using it again.??”

About: Hi my names Amadi. Thanks for taking a second to check out my profile! I have a little over 15 years of experience in training dogs, helping with socialization skills, and general caretaking. Currently I work from home, a light schedule as I’m testing to obtain another specialty license. In my daily life I used to foster dogs for a rescue. Most of my fosters came from very rough beginnings and had many social and/or anxiety issues but we have been able to overcome them💙 With that being said I totally understand how some dogs are unsure of new people and I’m 100% willing to take the time needed to get to know your fur baby. I do currently have an iguana in his own enclosure and I have extensive reptile knowledge and I’m willing to assist with those as well. I currently have a light schedule that I work from home, so I am available for a lot of pet care needs. I do frequent bathroom visits play, and meal time. I am 100% about safety first. I will not accept any new dogs that will put anyone else in jeopardy. Although I have experience in housing a large number of dogs from my time fostering out in Goochland, and my time working in a doggy daycare, I do not wish to take on a large number of dogs at any one time.
About: I have built my life around loving and caring for animals. I have been with my local SPCA for 11 years and have been president for 8 years. My family has rescued and loved many animals throughout our lives and I would like nothing more than to extend that love to your pets. I am available at all times as I have retired and most of my SPCA volunteer work is done from my home. If for whatever reason I am not going to be there I will make sure you will be informed prior to my absence and my husband is available in the rare instance I am not. I have a dog boarding facility that can house up to 17 dogs of all sizes. There is a large outdoor play area and nice cozy accommodations including indoor and outdoor runs. Dogs have access to one on one play (including private walks) as well as group play depending on your preference and dog temperament.

About: I have taken care of pets from a very young age carrying for dogs and cats and even horses, rabbits, chickens, goats and more where I grew up in the country. Most recently I pet sat regularly in Woodlake for several families including senior pets on medication and special needs pets, overnight sits in the home and taking care of multiple animals for a week at a time. I am compassionate and kind and will follow whatever guidelines you already have in place for your kids to not back track on training. I'm currently available full-time to help your pets be happy while you're away. My schedule is flexible for boarding, drop-ins, walking and more. We have two friendly dogs that will help keep your fur baby company if so desired. Otherwise they can be separated if need be in different areas of the home or crated away from one another for down time.

“Amanda is hands down a five-star sitter! She watched my dog all day and did an incredible job managing her high energy; she really went above and beyond to get all those "zoomies" out, and I picked up a very happy, tired pup. Her communication was also top-notch throughout the day, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. If you’re looking for someone reliable who truly knows how to engage with dogs, I highly recommend booking with Amanda!”

“Abby, had great communication with me while our pup was there. She sent me pics which helped put our minds at ease. What sold me on her was that within 5 minutes of me reaching out with our dogs info and request for care she responded back with her address ready to take him immediately. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely be using her services!”

About: Lifelong Pet Lover with Years of Experience Hi, I’ve been around pets my entire life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I started walking and feeding my family dogs at just 7 years old, twice a day, making sure they had plenty of playtime and fresh air in our grassy yard. From playful puppies to gentle giants, I’ve handled dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’m confident with potty training and establishing healthy routines for any breed. Since I was 15, I’ve also cared for cats, both my family’s and my friends’. I keep litter boxes clean and ensure they stay off surfaces where they might break or damage anything, all while making sure they feel safe and cared for. Whether it’s a long walk, a cozy cuddle, or responsible in-home care, I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. I’d love the chance to care for your furry friend. I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time throughout the week to give your pet the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. Whether it’s a morning walk, midday drop-in, or overnight stay, I’m available and committed to working around your needs. Your pet will never feel rushed or overlooked, they’ll have my full attention and care. Comfortable, Spacious, and Pet-Friendly Home Your pet will feel right at home here. I have a large backyard and a spacious home with plenty of room for dogs to play, explore, and relax. While the yard is not fenced, I always supervise outdoor time to ensure pets stay safe and secure. If you use training tools like an e-collar and provide them, I’m happy to use them responsibly and only according to your guidance. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, just like family.

“Sabrina was extremely accommodating as I needed day care coverage extremely last minute. She allowed the my pup & her dogs to get comfortable with one another and sent me updates throughout the day without prompting. I truly appreciate her kindness and expertise and will definitely book with her again.”

“We are a military family PCSing to Ft. Benning, GA and we needed someone last minute on a Sunday to watch our 2 dogs while we moved out of our hotel and into our Airbnb. I would absolutely recommend them.”
About: Quality over quantity; that’s how we approach pet care. We’re a mother-daughter team with more than 20 years of experience loving and caring for dogs, and we prefer to welcome one family’s dogs at a time so every pup receives the personalized attention they deserve. I’m Loni, a retired kindergarten teacher and lifelong dog lover, and my daughter Jayla is a pre-med college student. Together, we bring patience, attentiveness, compassion, and lots of love to every stay. Over the years, we’ve cared for dogs of all ages, personalities, and needs—from high-energy puppies to seniors requiring a gentler pace. We’re comfortable administering medications, maintaining feeding and medication schedules, reinforcing basic routines, and providing extra patience and attention to dogs with special needs. Our experience includes caring for both blind and deaf dogs. After loving three dogs of our own who have since passed, our home has become much quieter. As an empty nester, I now have the time, flexibility, and plenty of love to give your fur baby. They aren't just boarding with us; they become part of our family while they're here. Our guests enjoy a peaceful, non-smoking home, a large fenced backyard, plenty of companionship, couch cuddles, playtime, walks, and lots of individual attention. Someone is home much of the day, so your pup won't routinely spend long stretches alone. And expect pictures! We love keeping pet parents updated so you can enjoy your time away knowing your baby is safe, comfortable, and loved. Fewer dogs. More attention. Lots of love. ❤️ Pet care fits naturally into our lives. I’m a retired kindergarten teacher and empty nester, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be home much of the day. That means plenty of time for potty breaks, backyard play, walks, meals, medications, naps—and, of course, cuddles. My daughter Jayla is a pre-med college student and joins me in caring for our guests when she’s home. Our mother-daughter partnership combines my flexible retired lifestyle and years of caregiving experience with Jayla’s energy, attentiveness, and love of animals. Because we focus on quality over quantity and prefer to care for one family’s dogs at a time, we can adapt our day around your pup’s normal routine rather than expecting them to adapt to ours. Whether your dog wants to play outside, follow me around the house, nap beside me, or curl up on the couch, there’s usually someone nearby to keep them company. Your dog’s safety and comfort come first. Our peaceful, non-smoking home features a large, fully fenced backyard and doggie door, giving pups plenty of opportunities for fresh air, potty breaks, and backyard play—with supervision tailored to each dog's needs. We prefer to host one family’s dogs at a time, creating a calmer environment without a revolving door of unfamiliar boarding dogs. This also allows us to learn your pup’s personality and give them more individualized attention. We follow your instructions closely and do our best to maintain the routines your dog knows at home; including meals, medications, potty breaks, sleep schedules, walks, playtime, and downtime. We have experience caring for puppies, seniors, dogs requiring medication, and special-needs dogs, including blind and deaf pups. Inside, dogs are treated like family. If they're allowed on your furniture at home, they're welcome to cuddle with us on ours. You're also encouraged to bring their favorite bed, blanket, toys, crate, or anything else that helps our home feel familiar. We believe trust extends to pet parents, too, so we'll communicate with you and send photos and updates throughout their stay.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your DeWitt commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 231 sitters in DeWitt, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
