“Melanie is amazing! She went above and beyond to look after our fur baby. Very responsive, flexible, great communication, sends updates and pictures at least twice a day. Would 100% recommend her and definitely boarding our dog again when needed.”

“Savannah did a great job taking care of lily🥰 she sent me pictures every day. My dog is a picky eater, and she even bought a broth to mix with her dry food. She also responds very quick, always on communication!”

“Amber took care of my puppies for two weeks. And she did a great job in caring for them. My dogs enjoy the companion of Amber’s dog too. She kept update me time to time, sent pictures of them (since I was in overseas and had a hard time to have a video call with my pups due to time differences). I will definitely use her service again in the future.”

“Thank you, Aratrika and Arjun, for taking great care of Chewie, being willing to do a meet and greet, and sending so many great updates and pictures! Chewie seems happy after his weekend with you :)”

“I couldn't be happier with the care Luna received! Chris and Erika were attentive, loving, and kept me updated with photos. Luna came home happy and healthy! Highly recommend!”

“Rae is a fantastic sitter! I've never felt more sure and comfortable about leaving my Izzy with anyone more than Rae and Maya. Very responsive to messages, and gives great updates with photos and videos - No anxiety here about how my dog is doing! And this last visit, Izzy was so exhausted she passed out when we got home (awesome for unloading our stuff from the trip). This is our second time using Rae's services, and we'll definitely be using her again! Thank you, Rae and Maya!”

“Meghan took care of our dog while we are traveling over the holidays. When we had a family emergency come up and couldn't get back, she kindly offered to continue looking after him. We appreciate knowing that our dog is well taken care of in a difficult time. Will definitely book again.”

About: Not only have I had pets my entire life, but I've helped care for friend's and family's pets, too. I worked in a doggie daycare for a bit, so I have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and ages. I'm currently staying home with my kids, so my availability is open throughout the day to help care for your fur babies with check-ins and walks. I'm comfortable letting animals out into fenced yards or on leash as needed for potty breaks. I can help cleanup accidents inside or scoop liter during visits. I'm happy to help supervise playtime, feedings, or general activity during visits. I'm comfortable crating dogs when leaving, if needed. Whatever instructions you provide, I can execute and ensure your pet is well cared for!
About: Had pets all my life. Trained a couple of puppies and cared for a special needs dog for 4 years. Taught dogs the bell method of asking to go outside Currently not available on holidays. I am available everyday of the week. If there are any changes my schedule will be kept up to date consistently Large yard with a tall fence. Dog and cat safe home. Two dogs currently. They are 3 years old and 8 months and very friendly. They both have lots of energy and love to play. The 8 month old is not neutered yet but will be once he is 1 year old per vet recommendation. Nice neighborhood.
“Ryan and his family were very nice. Traveller can be a handful and I hope things weren't too disruptive for them. He was considerate, polite, accessible, and really easy to work with. If I need another sitting job at any time, I'll ask for him first. He's just a nice guy who gets dogs and took care of mine at a time I needed it, and that was great.”

I've cared for dogs in a home environment, including feeding, walking, bathing, playing, and maintaining their daily routines. About: Hey everyone, my name is Aric. I am originally from Peoria, Illinois but live in Champaign, Illinois. I have had dogs and cats my entire life. We get along great. Currently, I have one dog and two cats of my own. I have extra space in my house and am able to keep Rover animals separate. Please read all of my profile and contact me before requesting a service. One important thing to know is that Rover adds additional booking fees to my rates. If you can pay directly via Cashapp, Venmo, or Zelle, my rates will be lower than what is listed. Or, if you prefer to still use Rover for payments, that is ok. Send me a message if you have any questions. Hola a todos, me llamo Aric (Eric con A) y muchas personas que hablan el español me llaman mi segundo nombre Enrike (Enrique con K). Soy de Peoria, Illinois y vivo en Champaign, Illinois. He tenido perros y gatos toda mi vida. I take great care of my animals every day. I am very good with structed routines for me and my animals. Currently, my dog and two cats live with me. I replenish their food and water twice each day and socialize with them every day. Drop-In Visits: I am very flexible and adaptable to most environments and most needs of my clients and their humans. My profile accurately reflects services and prices. However, there may be some potential flexibility in order to meet the needs of my clients. Please read my entire profile including the introduction area where I mention how Rover adds additional booking fees to my rates. Day Care and/or Boarding: All my animals are up-to-date on vaccines. My cats have had vaccines for rabies and FVRCP. My dog has had vaccines for rabies, canine influenza bivalent (H3N2 and H3N8), distemper, parvo, bordetella, leptospirosis, and lyme disease. While I do not expect you to have all of these for your animals too, I do prefer that your animals are vaccinated for at least rabies and distemper for both dogs and cats as well as bordetella for dogs. Vaccines are very important for the safety, health, and well-being of all of our animals. For similar reasons, for boarding and/or day care, you MUST provide your cage/crate for your animals.

About: I am a dog lover to the bone! I work from home so I can spend the entire day with your pet. I have a very friendly spayed 70lb dog, Bee, for socialization. Your pet will have their own room to hangout in if they wish. I trained my rescue dog myself so I’m familiar with the rescue dog stress. I work from home so I am always available for your pet! I am always available to let them out for a potty break and there to observe everything. I have a big, fenced backyard and love to take a neighborhood walk every other day! I already work on a feeding schedule for my dog and play/tug time is a must.
About: My whole life I have always preferred animals over humans so as an adult my goal has been to turn it into my profession. I have cared for all kinds of animals from bugs to sheep, the least being livestock but i would love to learn more and better my skills in every way I can. With animals I am always down for whatever can or will come my way. In the most recent years I have been doing a lot of work with the pups that are a little extra spicy✨ after finding my own dog in a corn field and her ending up with reactivity and aggression, it really opened my mind to not just be a dog lover but someone who understands dog behavior to be able to keep them happy☺️ Unless I am out of town(rarely happens) I can almost always make it work! Even if it’s adding an xtra visit to make sure your baby gets everything they need🫶🏻 I care for every animal like I would my own babies. I like to keep things as close to normal for them as possible so never feel like you are telling me too much!
“Nina was available when I booked her last minute, she was very accommodating and asked a lot of questions about Nikko to best take care of him, which I very much appreciate! Nikko was so calm when I picked him up! I could tell he trusted him even for a short time he spent with Nina!”

“I knew the moment we met her that we had found our place! My Sam was at home the minute he walked in! Cheyenne is friendly, professional, and very thoughtful! She sent us pictures throughout the day so that we could enjoy seeing our boy have fun!”

“Hello, Julie did a good job getting are high energy dog spike out for walks. She also made sure he had plenty of exercise and plenty of play time. In overall her place was really wonderful. She really accommodated Spike. The only problem that we wanted to address was that she over gave on the treats and the food! We want to thank her and her daughter again for watching Spike it was a pleasure doing business with you!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their DeWitt home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your DeWitt.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your DeWitt sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
