About: I have been taking car of dogs since I was 16 and have continued to care for the same dogs for years to this day I work a full time job and have a dog of my own so morning and afternoon visits preferred. Usually from 5:00 to 6 am and anytime after 4 pm can include multiple visits in the evening Always start off by meeting the animals first. The first time I stop by I usually let the pet meet me first then start care whether that’s walking or just letting outside. After that I always save some time to play and let energy out

“Morgan was great! She sent text and pictures through the weekend, kept me very updated. My dogs looked happy when we arrived home and my house was still standing and not a mess. great girl!! will use again. She was wonderful”

About: I’ve stayed home alone with cats and dogs and had to take care of them. I absolutely love cats and dogs and always go to pet stores to look at them. I always walk up to stray cats and dogs to feed them. I’ve never had any problems from family members in the past from sitting their own animals. I’m currently a student in college. Trying to make a living for myself. And I figured I love cats and dogs so why not watch them and earn money! Back home I have a dog and a puppy that play around a fenced yard. I have been around them on my own waking up early, to feed them and let them outside to go potty or play. And then have to watch them all day.
“Haley was great! All of our pups loved her when we did our meet and greet which always says a lot. She was responsive and sent us pictures of our babies while we were away. Our house and dogs were well taken care of and we would absolutely recommend her to others!”

About: I have always had at least one animal in my home since I was born. My grandmother showed dogs and I would often help her get them trained and groomed. She was also an amazing professional dog groomer and I spent a large chunk of my time with her and learning from her. I like puppies but I have a love for older dogs. I have experience administering meds and injections. I work part time, on the weekends and I go to college full time. In the summer I work 5 days a week but based on your needs I can fit your furry friend into my schedule. I like to have a little list of things that you would think is important like the vet you want them to go to if your baby gets hurt, a feeding schedule, and anything that you may have concerns about while I stay at your house. I treat all of the animals I watch as they are my own babies and think it’s important to gain the trust of them while at your home, so they feel more comfortable.

About: I have a lifelong passion for animal care combined with a professional background in healthcare. Holding active certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and medication administration, caregiving is truly second nature to me. At home, my life is happily run by my own diverse fur family: a high-energy 3-year-old German Shepherd, a sweet senior miniature dachshund, and a cat. Living with this wonderful crew means I don't just understand pet care in theory—I live it every day. I know exactly what it takes to securely walk and handle a powerful, large breed; how to gently accommodate the slower pace and fragile back of a senior small dog; and how to respect the independent boundaries of a cat. My goal is to provide total peace of mind for pet parents. Whether your dog needs a brisk midday walk or your cat needs a quiet, comforting drop-in visit, I approach every pet with the same patience, clinical attentiveness, and love that I give to my human patients and my own animals. Because of my formal medical training, I am entirely comfortable, calm, and precise when administering oral medications, managing specific dietary needs, or monitoring senior pets with health or mobility challenges. I pride myself on punctuality, clear communication, and keeping your home exactly as you left it. You'll always get detailed updates and plenty of photos from our visits! Since pet care is my full-time focus, I have open and flexible availability throughout the day to give your pups all the attention, playtime, and care they need! Whether it's walks, or check-ins, I am fully dedicated to keeping your pets happy and safe on any schedule. I’m happy to schedule a meet & greet and discuss your pet’s care needs before booking. Please note that dates are not reserved until a booking is confirmed and payment has been completed through Rover. Pending or unpaid requests do not guarantee availability, and I may accept another confirmed booking for those dates. I provide drop-in care exclusively in your home, ensuring your pet's established routine and safety are my absolute priorities. I also offer walks! With a professional background in medical care, I am exceptionally observant, detail-oriented, and fully comfortable administering medications or managing specific health routines. I treat your home with complete respect, ensuring a secure, stress-free environment during every visit.

I work Monday through Friday. I typically go in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6:45am and leave by 3:00pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I usually work from 8a-4p. I am able to leave my work to check on animals as long as they are within a reasonable distance. Weekends I’m pretty free. I have a fenced in back yard. About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. I’m a Big advocate on animal rescue. I have watched friends and families animals when they go out of town. I currently work part time as a server. I would like to transition into pet care full-time. after the new year. Making myself available to come to you is something I think is important so you and your pet feel more comfortable in your own surroundings. I would care for your pet in your home along with your pet routine. I know how important it is for your pet to stay on their routine. With you being gone it will help ease pet anxiety, if they have it.

About: I take time to understand each dog’s personality, energy level, and specific needs. Whether that means structured playtime for high-energy pups or quiet companionship for seniors, I adapt to them. I prioritize safety, communication, and providing updates so you always feel confident your dog is in loving, capable hands I work full-time, but I maintain a consistent daily routine that allows me to provide dependable pet care. I’m available for morning and evening walks, feedings, and quality time, and I make sure pets receive attention, exercise, and affection before and after work. On weekends, I have more flexibility for extended walks, playtime, and extra care When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect both your space and your pet’s established routine. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walk routes, medication needs, and house rules. I keep doors secured, monitor surroundings on walks, and ensure pets are always safely leashed or supervised. My goal is to maintain a calm, familiar environment so your pet experiences minimal disruption while you’re gone

“Great service! Brad is an excellent communicator, and took great care of our dog and home. He kept me up to date and was always fast to reply. Our house was spotless when we returned and he was very tidy (which was also important to us).”

“We so appreciate Darin. He drove 2 hours to sit with Kuma who took to him right away. He is a dedicated worker who loves dogs. Thank you, Darin! for giving us the opportunity to see and enjoy the area.”

About: HIGHLIGHTS: -Insured -Comfortable w/ large and small dogs and knows the different requirements in care -No kids in home -Dog kennels provided for when necessary, no need to lug yours with you -38 year old home owner w/ privacy fence in back yard -Work from home sitter -Regular updates and pictures -Has read dog psychology and taken dog training classes with my dog. I believe pets deserve respect and autonomy and I'll do my best to treat your babies like I treat my own boys. I've read a few dog psychology books so I do have a good understanding of different communication styles that dogs may have and I have experience with reactive dogs and elderly dogs as well. When I walk your dog, I have no problems communicating with strangers and setting boundaries. I am very protective of my animal clients peace and safety. I always err on the side of caution. With pets, I am gentle but firm and it creates an environment that dogs love. I love playing with dogs and engaging their minds. I also communicate with your pet to ensure they are happy (which room they prefer, how they like to be pet, how they like to be played with) and I tell them every day that you're coming back. I genuinely love each animal that I interact with and treat them how I'd want them to be treated if they were mine. I'm also punctual and communicative. My late dog was also reactive and could be aggressive, so I have experience dealing with large dogs that have strong boundaries. I work from home so I am available to stay with your pet all day long! When I do leave, it's usually never for more than 4 hours and I have a L crate and an XL crate that your babies can stay in if needed. For sitting in your home, I do bring my 6lb chihuahua. If your dog needs to be separated from small I have a large backyard with a privacy fence on all four sides. I have a 20 y/o but there is a pet gate that keeps the house in two parts. Your pet will not interact with my pet at all. Dogs have their own room and will be allowed free roam of one half of my home. It's a large space.
“Meredith was a good match for my animals! She was on time and responsive. Since my cat has some medical concerns, it eased my mind having someone with experience look over him!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Desloge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Desloge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Desloge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
