About: My lifetime dedication to animal behavior began at a young age, training everything from my childhood cats and birds to neighborhood dogs. By the time I was 12, I was already handling pet-sitting duties for family friends, which sparked an obsession with AKC dog shows and canine development. As a teenager, I successfully fostered three high-need rescue dogs, rehabilitating them and placing them into forever homes. When I finally received my first dog, Omega—a brilliant Standard Poodle who lived to be 14—I trained him from scratch in everything from advanced stays to agility pole jumping. To back this natural passion with formal education, I completed three years at Virginia Tech, majoring in Animal & Poultry Science (Companion Animal Track). Through my intensive collegiate lab work, I gained hands-on experience with multiple species and mastered advanced animal husbandry, livestock handling, anatomy, and medical administration protocols (including multiple injection methods). I can accommodate social dogs who thrive around other animals, as well as dogs requiring complete separation. About: I have always had dogs growing up, but as an adult I gained more experience with dogs of all sizes, cats, rodents and reptiles. I currently have a senior chihuahua who is 16 years old, a 1 year old chihuahua, a 3 year old border collie mix, as well as 2 cats. I have professional experience with dogs of all sizes, and have cared for a variety of pets. I stay up to date with researching animal behavior and health and feel comfortable caring for pets with special needs. I get off at 4pm on weekdays and never work weekends or holidays, giving me lots of availability to care for your pets! If you book a boarding or daycare service with me on the weekend, I will be home to provide frequent potty breaks and exercise as well as all the belly rubs they might want. I offer check-ins at the client’s home as well as boarding at my home. If boarding your pet at my house, it is important to know I have dogs and cats if my own as well as a young child. I am happy to discuss all requests and rules related to caring for your pet, as I see them as family! I understand how important it is to have a trustworthy caregiver that will take your pets on safe walks, feed them the appropriate amount, and ensure their needs are met. I have a large fenced in yard allowing pets to get plenty of exercise while I watch them.
