“Paula is highly recommend by my family! We are thankful we now have someone we can trust to take great care of all of our animals when we are away. Thank you, Paula!”

“Vanessa was by far the best sitter we’ve had in nearly ten years. She went above and beyond. She took pebbles on hikes and swims and dog parks, kept her super clean and managed her food and meds very well. We returned in over a week to find pebbles thriving. We would call on Vanessa in a heart beat going forward whenever we need someone to care for our pup.”

About: Now that I have graduated college and I am living back home! I have a lot of time to do one of my favorite things which is to care for animals! I have experience rescuing dogs and giving them loving homes. In the past I have trained with a dog trainer to get a better sense on how to better work with dogs. I am an early bird, I usually start my days at 5:30! I make sure to get some exercise and take a morning walks. I have a very strong ritual of waking up early and being active. I usually take the afternoons to read and prepare my applications for JD/PHD programs. In between these two things in my schedule, I have a lot of free time that I would love to spend with your pets! I also do not mind traveling to different boroughs if needed!! In my own home, I have a very large living room space, which gives pets spaces to stretch, lay out, play and or explore. In clients home I always make sure to know what boundaries/ areas are off limits for the pets and respect that.
“Bryson is wonderful!!! We know our girl is well cared for when we are away and Izzy loves how Bryson spoils her with tons of attention. He goes above and beyond to care for our home as well. Can't recommend Bryson enough!!!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals my entire life—whether it’s been my own pets, helping out friends, or rescuing strays in need. Both of my cats were rescued by me, and I’ve always had a natural connection with animals. They’re drawn to me, and I love giving them the same trust and affection they show me. I grew up with big dogs, including two pit bulls and a boxer, so I’m confident and comfortable handling larger breeds. Over the years, I’ve potty trained dogs, taught tricks, and cared for pets with all kinds of temperaments. My experience goes beyond cats and dogs—I’ve also cared for frogs, snakes, turtles, and even had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with elephants in Thailand. My love for animals runs so deep that I’ve been vegan for over a decade. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s truly part of who I am. What I Offer 🐾 A 100% open and flexible schedule—your pets will always get the time, love, and attention they deserve. 🐾 Experience with animals of all sizes, temperaments, and special needs. 🐾 Patience, playfulness, and genuine compassion for every pet I meet. Whether it’s cuddles, walks, playtime, or extra TLC, I’ll treat your fur babies like they’re my own. I have a completely open and flexible schedule, available any day and time. Since I mostly work from home, I can easily accommodate bookings, cancellations, last-minute changes, and special requests. The only exception is occasional weekend evenings after 5 PM, when I work at The Colony in Woodstock. Other than that, I’m always here for you and your pets! I live in a spacious three-bedroom, 2 story home with a large open yard, perfect for pets to play and explore. Your furry friend will have plenty of room to stretch, run, and enjoy the outdoors while getting all the exercise and fresh air they need to stay happy and healthy.

About: I have experience with many different dog breeds with different energy and health needs. I give all of the animals under my care the same treatment. I would take care of a super senior cat with the same dedication I would a golden retriever puppy. I'm not squeamish at all either, I'm comfortable dealing with body fluids and administering injection and medications. I have volunteered at multiple animal shelters so i've seen it all! Currently, my only commitments are helping to babysit younger family members, which is flexible schedule and only part-time. I have lots of time to not only take care of your animals, but also play with them and give them good entertainment My own dog is a runner, so I am hypervigilant about making sure animals don't dart out doors. I always make sure I physically see the animal and watch them to make sure they look healthy and happy, I don't just leave food and water and go home. I'm more than happy to give daily updates on animals i'm watching there are owners out of town and take pictures
“I am so so grateful we found Kamber (and her amazing daughter) to help us with our little dog Sonny. He was definitely in a reactive / nervous mood when they arrived and Kamber’s patience and calm presence immediately put him at ease. She’s a total pro with dogs, knew exactly how to handle Sonny’s tricky temperament, and I would use her a million times if we lived in the area. I received pictures/updates throughout their stay and Kamber even offered to arrive half an hour early to make sure we all felt comfortable. I’ve used a lot of sitters and Kamber is one of the best I’ve ever encountered. Thank you so much, Kamber and Aneesah.”

“Karla is a gentle and kind animal whisperer. Our pup was immediately calmed by her energy. From his daily med routine, to even feeding him by hand when he put up a “my humans are traveling fight” she cared for him with grace and love. AND we got daily pics.”

“Alisa is a true animal lover and my gang adored her. She is a great communicator, always letting you know how everything is going, when she is arriving, when she is leaving. She sends lots of photos and videos and was a joy to work with. I felt like my guys were in great hands and I would absolutely work with her again!”

“Elisha was great. She wasn't intimidated by Arlo's epilepsy which was a huge relief to me. She seemed immediately at ease with the boys and they with her. When I got home my dogs were calm, happy and not anxious so I could tell that they were indeed comfortable with her. I will definitely book with Elisha again.”

“We booked Taylor at the last minute when another dog sitter had an emergency—and she is a rock star! She understands animals and works hard to make sure she is accommodating their needs. So glad we found her!!”

“Patricia was amazing. Our newly adopted doghas separation anxiety and continued to give her a run for her money the whole first part of the second day. She was patient with Lucy and in the end we were so happy to be able to complete our vacation without worries. We will definitely have her back”

“Elisha was a great sitter for our dog, on short notice and all. Our dog, who doesn’t even like to go upstairs typically, even slept by Elisha during the night! That means Elisha was good!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Denning
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 256 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Denning. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Denning walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Denning maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Denning choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
