“Haley is the best pet sitter! She’s very conscientious, communicative and responsible. She truly cares about my kitties and I know they are in good hands with Haley when we’re vacationing !”

“Julie is amazing! Another trip taken knowing our sweet boy was in good hands. A trip with two littles is fun with a touch of hectic but Julie’s wonderful, descriptive updates full of adorable pictures keep me so relieved that our Buzzy (our cute, old man kitty) is all good getting spoiled back home! Our sweet boy needs nightly meds. If you are in need for someone to take care of your sweet baby with any med needs, she’s your girl! Thankful we have her as our trusted sitter!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 15. I started just walking dogs, and then progressed to watching family/friends dogs while they were on weekend trips/ vacations once I was able to drive. On top of watching other peoples animals, I’ve always had animals of my own, so I’ve been around Dogs/Cats my whole life. I am due in November, and I won’t be working once I have my baby. My schedule is completely open and my Dog is looking for a friend to have a sleepover 🩵 I have 3 acres and lots of room for dogs to run around and play! My dog gets along with any kind of dog, so your fur baby will have a friend the whole time! If you would like your dog crated, I can do that as well.
About: When your pet stays with us, they’ll never be short on love, attention, or care. My fiancée and I work together as a team, so your furry family member always has someone nearby to meet their needs. Our home provides a safe, active, and welcoming environment, complete with a large, fully fenced backyard for plenty of supervised play and exercise. Whether your dog loves to run, cuddle on the couch, stay by your side every minute, or requires medications and specialized care, we’re experienced and comfortable caring for a wide variety of personalities and needs. Our family includes children who genuinely love animals and enjoy giving pets extra affection, playtime, and companionship. We treat every guest like one of our own, providing personalized care, regular updates, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your best friend is in experienced, caring hands. We can’t wait to meet you and your special companion! Caring for pets is a natural part of our everyday life. I have a flexible work schedule, and my fiancée is a stay-at-home mom, which means your pet is rarely left alone and always has someone nearby to provide care, attention, and companionship. Our daily routine revolves around spending time with the pets in our home—whether that’s supervised playtime in our fenced backyard, relaxing indoors, feeding, walks, cuddle time, or maintaining their normal routine. The only times one of us typically steps away are for brief school drop-offs, pick-ups, or our children’s sports activities, and those outings are usually short. Because someone is almost always home, we’re able to provide frequent potty breaks, personalized attention, medication if needed, and plenty of love throughout the day. We strive to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and like they’re part of our family during their stay. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are our highest priorities. Our home features a large, fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely run, play, and burn off energy under supervision. Inside, pets are treated like family. They’re welcome to relax on the couch, enjoy plenty of cuddles, or simply find a cozy spot to unwind. For dogs who are crate trained or prefer having their own quiet space, we have additional crates available where they can relax with their favorite blanket or toy. With a two-story home, a finished basement, and multiple living areas, we’re able to accommodate a variety of personalities and energy levels. Whether your dog loves being in the middle of the action or needs a calmer environment while they settle in, we can provide a space where they feel safe and comfortable. Every pet is different, and we take the time to learn their routine, personality, and needs so we can provide personalized care throughout their stay. Our goal is for your pet to feel like they’re on their own vacation while you enjoy yours with complete peace of mind.
“Lindsay has been a huge help with coming over and spending time with my 2 dogs while im at work. She stops by and lets them out to potty and spends some time with them multiple times a week. It makes me feel good knowing I can trust her, that she enjoys being with them and that shes very experienced in dealing with different breeds and personalities of dogs!”
“Molly is absolutely wonderful ! We were getting a new puppy so I started looking on Rover for a sitter to help with letting her out. I set up a meet and greet with Molly the weekend we brought our girl home. She came over and stayed for an hour just talking & playing we knew Molly was the one we could trust with our 8 week old puppy. I have scheduled drop in visits and love getting all the photos of Ahsoka having fun playing….will definitely be booking Molly to keep her for an upcoming vacation!”

“Ruth was phenomenal! I was concerned about leaving my recently adopted dog while I traveled for 12 days, but he thrived under Ruth’s care. I appreciated the Rover note from every visit. I will definitely have Ruth care for Gibbs when I travel!”

“Rayna and Zach are absolutely terrific with my dogs. I was very nervous about introducing my 13 year old dog and new 3 month old puppy to strangers but they warmed up to them right away. Not only did they take care of their basic needs (food, water, bathroom), but they also took the time to teach my new puppy some essential tricks like not biting when he plays, being calm when entering the crate, etc. I come home every day with two tired, well behaved, and mess free pups. They have gone above and beyond my expectations and I am so lucky to have them taking care of my pups! I would recommend Rayna and Zach to anyone and everyone!!”

“Jaclyn took such good care of my babies! Every single visit she sent me a ton of pictures and wrote these sweet little updates that made it easier to be working away from home. It’s not easy to find someone who will care for your pets the same way that you do and I feel like I’ve found that level of care with Jaclyn. She even brought her dog Hemera to play with mine and they’re best friends now. Only reason I’d pick anyone else at this point is if Jaclyn isn’t available. Highly recommend her!!”

“Erica does so well with our dog, Duke. She checks in on him when our regular sitter is unavailable. She is very responsive and sends lots of photos of our pup while we are working. Highly recommend her!”

About: There’s nothing like the love you receive back in a single look. I’ve had dogs my entire life—being a pet lover is simply part of who I am. To me, they’re not just pets—they’re a special part of our lives. With 13+ years working in a pet care company and over 2 years fostering 21+ dogs, I bring both professional expertise and real-life experience. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, personalities, and needs—both small and large breeds, from 9-week-old puppies to senior dogs. I’ve also regularly cared for dogs of neighbors and friends, building trusted relationships within my community. I understand that leaving your dog with someone else is a big decision. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your dog is safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. I’m patient, attentive, and especially comfortable helping dogs adjust, feel at ease, and build confidence. I truly love how every dog is unique—their personality, their energy—and getting to know each one is something I genuinely love. At home, I have two well-trained dogs—Valentino (Golden Retriever) and Romeo (Australian Shepherd)—who help foster dogs learn positive behaviors and feel comfortable. I treat every dog as my own, making sure they feel safe, relaxed, and happy—so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. I’m available for walks Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and generally on weekend mornings. My schedule allows me to provide consistent attention and reliable care during these hours. I aim to follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible, so they feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for while you’re away. I can be flexible for additional times when needed—just feel free to reach out and we can coordinate what works best for you and your dog. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, structured, and loving environment where dogs can feel secure and at ease. I have a fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and two well-trained, friendly dogs—Valentino (Golden Retriever) and Romeo (Australian Shepherd)—who help create a balanced and positive environment, especially for dogs who benefit from socialization. With my background fostering over 21 dogs, I’m experienced in reading dog behavior, managing different temperaments, and helping dogs adjust smoothly. I can also follow specific instructions such as crate training, feeding routines, or medications if needed. I treat every dog with care, attention, and responsibility—so you can feel confident your dog is in safe and capable hands.
“I am very grateful to Damica for helping out with my Papi Chulo for 4 days on such a short notice. Also did an amazing job on communication and keeping me updated on all events, I would definitely work with her again 👍🏾”

“Such a great experience with kirsten and was very comforting knowing how good of care she was taking of Oakley. Sent a bunch of photos and Oakley looked very happy and comfortable.”

About: I have worked with dogs for quite a while now, started off as a boarding attendant at kennelwood, then managed some group play at dogtopia. I do now work full time at a spa. But, I am looking forward to taking care of your pet rather that’s dog-walking, pet sitting! I do know how to administer medication, and care for senior pets! Questions? book with me today. This is a part-time thing for me. I work full time at a veterinary clinic! This is more of a monthly thing for me. I care for pets in clients home, same with drop-in’s and walks. I stay in contact with clients via text/call. I always provide pictures during the stay.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,167 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Defiance. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Defiance. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
