About: I grew up with animals of all kinds and love to be around them. I have experience with all kinds and ages, from newborn to super seniors. Two of my childhood dogs required medication, I have experience administering injections and oral medications. I also have experience administering topical and oral medications to cats. I have few routine obligations and will likely be able to make any pet sitting requests a priority. I am generally available from about 8:30am until 11pm every day. I can stop by on whatever schedule you desire and interact with your pet(s) as close to the way you would as I can. My goal is to provide care as similar to yours as possible so that your pet is comfortable and enjoys their time with me. With drop in care, I will be sure to administer medications, feed, water, and groom as instructed as well as cleaning litter boxes and extra gifts, and, of course, providing desired attention. I will respect your rules, your home, and your privacy. With dog walking, I will do my best to make sure they stay safe and comfortable while having a great time and getting plenty of exercise. I love a good walk, and they are so much better with a companion!

About: As a foster parent for a local animal shelter, I love giving our four legged friends a safe and welcoming place to call their own. I have fostered over 2 dozen animals in my home and have experience with crate training, potty training, basic needs and socialization as well. I’m currently working as a full time teacher, but have a lunch break daily in which I can come home and give the furry friends a potty break and some play time. I do not have a fenced in yard, so I take the animals in my home on multiple daily walks using a leash and harness.

About: I have cared for many animals in my life from dogs, to geckos and snakes. I have helped care for my childhood dog who had to have both eyes removed, and both of my dogs from adulthood who both had cancer. My daughter loves animals and misses her pets dearly. She is excited to help care for animals again too. I’m a preschool teacher in Rantoul, but my husband works from home. We can make times work especially starting in the early evening and weekends. Our home is pet friendly. We have some things still from our dogs. I am comfortable giving medications if needed to your fur babies (or scaly ones). We are in a pretty animal friendly neighborhood and a good area for walking.

We needed help with our pup last minute and Misty was quick to respond and willing to work with our schedule. During the meet and greet I could tell she was very comfortable with animals as well as knowledgable. Overall Misty was amazing to work with and I felt at ease knowing our fur baby was in good hands.

About: I have been around animals my whole life, I got my own dog when I was in elementary school and he still means the world to me this day. I always took the initiative to care for my pets growing up and that’s carried into my adult life as well. I think expressing love to animals is so important because we’re all they have. I have a dog myself and he is my world. Your fur babes deserve all the love in the world and I’d love to give it to them! I have many years of experience caring for dogs and I’m very confident in the care I can provide! Having my sweet pup Smokey means the most to me and I’m so happy to be a full time dog mom ❤️ I hope to be the perfect fit as a sitter for you! I am a full time stay at home wife/dog mom. I have nothing but time on my hands and would love to share it with you and your pet(s)! I do not currently offer services in my home due to the lack of space. About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, starting with two energetic border collies who taught me the importance of patience, exercise, and mental stimulation. Over the years, I’ve owned and cared for my own diverse range of pets including a bunny, fish, and amphibians, giving me hands-on experience with different care needs and environments. I regularly pet sit for friends and family, caring for both cats and dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I also volunteered with Best Friends Animal Society in LA after the fires, which deepened my understanding of animal behavior and care. From feeding schedules and medication to playtime and companionship, I understand that every pet has unique needs and personality quirks that make them special. My lifelong experience with animals has taught me to read their body language, recognize signs of stress or happiness, and provide the love and attention they need to feel safe and comfortable while their parents are away. Pet care seamlessly fits into my flexible schedule - I’m available seven days a week and can accommodate last-minute requests. Whether it’s daily walks, overnight stays, or extended care while you’re traveling, I can adapt to your pet’s routine and your family’s needs. I understand that pets thrive on consistency, so I’m committed to maintaining their regular feeding times, exercise schedules, and bedtime routines. My open availability means I can provide the reliable, stress-free care that gives you peace of mind when you’re away. In Your Home: I provide in-home pet sitting to keep your furry family members comfortable in their familiar environment. I’ll maintain their regular routines, provide companionship, and can stay overnight if needed. Your pets get personalized attention while enjoying the security of their own space, and you’ll receive regular updates and photos to keep you connected.

About: Greetings! First - thank you for considering me and my services. I have been a pet owner all my life, and have been the proud parent of hamsters, fish, cats, dogs, and a rabbit! I'm also a responsible house sitter, having been both a homeowner and a renter, I understand the value of not just your pets, but your possessions, your mail and plants, the cozy space of your home, the relationships with your neighbors. I have provided these services for friends and families for most of my life. I have always loved animals and I have always owned pets, been a member of dog parks and puppy play groups, and I volunteered for the Champaign Humane Society for many years. I have also had pets with medication needs, so I am experienced in that area. For years I also groomed my own dogs, and I know that each pet has its own needs, preferences, and personalities. Finally, I recently lost my dog of 15 years, and although I now live somewhere that does not allow pets, I need animals in my life! From my own experience of being a Rover customer for many years, I also know how important it is to pet sit within your home with no disruption to your pet's routine or surroundings. I'm retired, so I can be flexible with your scheduling needs for both your pets and your home. I'm both an early riser and a night owl, so whatever works for you also works for me! I have been both a renter and homeowner, so I know how valuable your pets are, but also your cozy home, your plants, mail, and relationships with your neighbors. I have owned a bunny, hamsters, cats and dogs. But I also have an affinity for birds and reptiles. I have provided services for friends and family most of my life, now I just want to bring in a bit of extra cash to supplement social security. I'm also mainly a homebody, so if your home or your pets need extra care or a lot of time, I'm fully available.

About: I have been dog sitting since I was 11 years old. I have taken care of all kinds of dogs, all ages and sizes. I have always grown up with a dog, so taking care of one is like second nature to me. I have looked after puppies as well as senior dogs. I have potty trained puppies in less than 2 weeks. I have been responsible for walking, feeding, entertaining/playing, and bathing services. I am a University of Illinois Student who is currently working part-time over the summer, therefore I have a flexible schedule! As as student at the University of Illinois, I have taken multiple courses in Animal Science, including Companion Animals in Society, Science of Pets and Their Care, and World Animal Resources. I walk my dog Arlo in the morning before work, and will do the same with pets that are under my care. I live on a lake and I do not have a fenced in yard, but I will walk them often. I will walk your pets around the neighborhood which you live if I am caring for them at your house. My 4 year old Husky/German Shepherd mix loves other dogs and is very friendly. My dog does not require a crate, however if that is something that your dog needs, I can accommodate! If I am watching your pets at my house, I will require proof of vaccinations to keep my dog safe as well!

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your De Land. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in De Land.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in De Land. On Rover:

  • 100% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
