About: What sets me apart from other dog sitters is the healing touch that I bring to all animals that I care for. I am a Reiki Master (energy healing) with many years of experience with shelter and sanctuary animals. I will take the time to learn and connect to each beautiful animal to learn what makes them feel comfortable, happy, and secure. I believe pet parents deserve peace of mind while they're away, so I focus on dependable care, clear communication, and making sure every animal feels safe, loved, and well cared for. I am currently on summer break from college. When I am not doing healing sessions on people, I have a lot of time on my hands and would love the opportunity to take care of your fur-babies. I can care for your fur-babies in your home. I am also an active person and would love to walk your dog on their favorite trail. My care will be tailored to your fur-babies individual needs. I also have experience with farm animals. I love chickens! They each have their own personality, and I have even broken up a rooster fight. I love to care for all animals.

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was a little girl. I am currently a full-time student at Appalachian State University studying Veterinary Technology. I am going to be entering my third year in the fall. I am looking to spend time with fur babies while I am completing school! I am currently a full-time student studying veterinary technology to become a licensed veterinary technician. My schedule is generally very flexible; on occasion I will have some classes where we meet online. I treat all animals as if they are my own. My animals are my children, and I will take care of yours the same way. I will have to say taking care of animals of all kinds is a true passion of mine. Which is why I have chosen this path for my career! I may have started a little later in life but better late than never I always say!

I was kind of in between a rock and a hard place.. I had to go out of town in a week, and didn’t want to leave my dog in a kennel again.. he has special needs and kennels have too many dogs to pay special attention to him so I tried Rover... My request for assistance was accepted right away. I was always able to reach the sitters and they sent me updates and statuses ... definitely recommend Cheyannes assistance if you need a sitter

About: Hi!! I’m Kimberly 😊 A little about me: I’m a mom of three boys 💙 (a newborn, a 2-year-old, and a 7-year-old), so life is definitely full in the best way. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and that’s something my kids have naturally picked up too. They absolutely love animals and have learned to be gentle, kind, and respectful from a young age. I’ve been caring for animals for over 15 years now, both personally and for others, and it’s something I truly enjoy. I grew up in a home full of pets. At one point we had 26 birds, 24 guinea pigs, 2 cats, and 3 dogs, so being around animals has always just felt natural to me. My faith is a big part of who I am and how I treat others. It guides me to be patient, attentive, and genuinely caring, not just with people but with every pet I’m trusted with. I understand how much they mean to you, and I take that responsibility seriously. We live in Mocksville, NC, and I’m in the Clemmons and Winston area often, so I’m very flexible depending on your location and needs. My husband is a U.S. Navy veteran, so we have a deep appreciation for those who serve and a special place in our hearts for military families. At the end of the day, I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing your pet is being cared for with attention, patience, and genuine love while you’re away. I’m currently a stay at home mom, which gives me a lot of flexibility throughout the day. On weekdays, I do school drop off between 7:45am and 9:30am and need to be home again by 3pm for pick up. Outside of those times, I’m generally very open and able to accommodate visits and walks. If a drop-in or walk falls within those school hours, my kids may come along with me. They absolutely love animals and are always gentle, respectful, and happy to give your fur baby a little extra love and attention 😊 ⸻ Note: I’ve adjusted my 30 minute drop in and walking rate because I often find myself staying a little longer to make sure your pet truly gets the attention and care they need. In my opinion, 30 minutes can feel rushed, especially for pets who have been alone for a while. I never want your pet to feel hurried, so I do my best to include extra time whenever possible so they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved on. My rate is flexible depending on your pet’s needs, so please feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m always happy to chat! I am very respectful of my home as well as others. I like to keep things clean and take pride in maintaining a well-kept space. I’m not one to pry, and I’m very self-aware, always making sure I’m being respectful of your home. I will treat your home the same way I would want my own to be treated. I’m great with following directions and instructions, and when it comes to your pets, I take my time to make sure their needs are fully met. You can definitely expect a bunch of updates and pictures while your furry or feathered babies are in my care.

About: I have always had a fondness for animals, I believe they show us the best parts of love! I have taken care of many animals including cats, dogs, and goats for many friends and family. I love spending time with the little babies who need a bit of extra attention, time, and patience! I am currently employed full time within walking distance from my apartment. I go on walks in the morning and evening, and would love more companions! I have a knack for reading how people/animals are doing in new situations, so I do my best to provide a gentle, patient, and loving home away from home!

Christine helped us out of a bind - the night before leaving our puppy for the first time on a 4 night trip we had to make other arrangements because of the sitter we had reserved not showing up. she came and stayed at our home and did a wonderful job with her ! We were already apprehensive about leaving her and to have that happen at the last minute it was such a blessing to find such a professional Dog Sitter. We highly recommend her. She left our home in great condition and was an excellent communicator which made us feel comfortable while on our trip. We highly recommend her.

About: Hi! We’re Jana and Kendric, a reliable pet care team with a shared love for animals. Having two sitters means your pets receive extra attention, supervision, and care while you’re away. We both have experience caring for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and personalities, from energetic puppies and playful kittens to senior pets who need a calmer, more attentive routine. We’re comfortable with daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, litter box care, and maintaining your pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. We understand that every pet is different, so we take time to learn their habits, preferences, and personality. Whether your dog needs plenty of exercise or your cat prefers quiet companionship, we adapt our care to what makes them happiest. We also have experience following detailed care instructions and can administer oral medications if needed. Safety and communication are very important to us, so we always make sure your pets are supervised, secure, and well cared for at all times. While you’re away, we provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and in good hands. Our goal is to make your pets feel loved and comfortable while giving you complete peace of mind. We treat every pet like they’re part of our own family and look forward to meeting you and your furry friends! 🐾🐶🐱 We (Jana and Kendric) work opposite schedules, which allows us to provide consistent care and supervision for your pets. Because of this, someone is home with your pet most of the time, ensuring they receive plenty of attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. We’re able to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening routines, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and check-ins. Having two caregivers also means greater flexibility if your pet has specific needs or requires extra attention. Our goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and never left alone for long periods, while maintaining the routine they’re used to at home. 🐾🐶🐱 When caring for pets in our home or in a client’s home, we focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. We follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, litter box care, medications, and any special needs their pet may have. For dogs, we provide regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention to keep them happy and exercised. For cats, we make sure litter boxes are kept clean, feeding routines are maintained, and they receive playtime and affection while still respecting their space. We always prioritize safety, cleanliness, and communication. We keep environments secure, monitor pets closely, and send regular updates and photos so owners know their pets are happy and well cared for while they’re away. Our goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, safe, and loved. 🐾🐶🐱

Marissa did an amazing job caring for our dog, Ghost, and our cat, Juno, while we were away. She was reliable, communicative, and treated them with so much love and care. We really appreciated the updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind knowing they were happy and well cared for. We came home to two relaxed and happy pets, and it was clear they had been in great hands. We would absolutely book with Marissa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring pet sitter!

Wow Marissa was such a great Pet Sitter for my 3 dogs. She is very calm and easy going. She walked all 3 of our dogs when weather permitted and was fine with our 2 Vizslas wanting to cuddle with her. My older dog has separation anxiety and did really well. Marissa is amazing. She will definitely be my No. 1 choice for a Pet Sitter in the future.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cycle

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Cycle on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 504 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cycle. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cycle walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cycle maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cycle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cycle. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
