“When a last minute work trip came up, Tony helped out significantly with my two furballs. They seemed to have been happy to have him stay with them and overall, the experience was really good!”

“Aaron was fantastic! Great at communicating while we were out of town. Kept us informed on when he’d be dropping by. Our dog was a bit hesitant at first and Aaron handled the situation extremely well! By the second visit our dog had a new bff. Highly recommend!”

“Laurel watched our cat and dog while we were out of town for a week and had watched them prior to this trip as well. She took great care of them both, always made sure she had their schedule, and checked in with us often! She sent us plenty of pictures and updates while we were gone, which we greatly appreciated! Laurel made sure both our animals were well taken care of and attended to while we were away. We would love to utilize Laurel again!!!”

“My dogs (one of whom is usually very anxious) seemed to instantly like Danielle, which is always such a relief when I leave them with a sitter. My house was clean and tidy when I returned, and my pooches were securely locked up in their crates and calm. Thankyou!”

About: I’ve taken care of a wide variety of animals, including dogs 🐕 , cats 🐈 ,rats 🐀, chameleons 🌈 , iguanas 🦎 , and birds 🐥. Currently, my family has five cats 🐈⬛ (four of which are mine), two dogs 🐶 (a Rottweiler and a Lab Mix), two birds 🦜(a Conyard and an Amazon parrot), and a large Sulcata tortoise 🐢 . I also have a jumping spider 🕷️ . I’m well-versed in all aspects of animal care ❤️🩹and have a lot of patience 🤗. I’ll give your pets all the love and attention they need. 💕 I’m currently between jobs because I recently moved here. So, my typical morning routine involves opening the blinds, feeding my cats, and checking on my spider. I would treat my clients’ animals as if they were my own and would adapt to the specific needs of each pet as per the client’s instructions.
About: Hi, I’m Trinity! I recently earned my MBA and am a former collegiate track and field athlete. I’ve loved animals my whole life and originally studied biology with plans to attend veterinary school. I grew up with a family dog I was very close to, and after losing them, I became even more passionate about giving pets love, patience, and care. As an adult, I got my own dogs, Scooby and Nola, and I treat every pet I watch with that same level of love and protection. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or companionship, I make sure they feel safe and happy. New to Rover? I provide a safe, loving environment with plenty of attention and care. In clients’ homes, I follow their pet’s routine to keep them comfortable, happy, and stress free while their owners are away.
“Ariana was AMAZING! Our sitter canceled on us with less than a months notice. We were very nervous but she was super kind and communicative! Our dogs lived her and we will definitely use her again!”

“Lindsey was willing to stay at our home for a week to house sit our 10 year old pitbull mix while we were away on vacation. Not only was she great at taking care of our home while we were away (cleaned, did laundry, took the trash to the edge of the drive for trash day, etc.) but she did a phenomenal job of taking care of our pup the entire time - she was very communicative and made sure to send us pictures and updates daily! We will definitely be asking Lindsey to help us again in the future and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone we know!”

“Since the last time using rover, my gf and I were unsure about giving it another try. Ayla was so good to keep us updated on our kids. And if that wasn’t enough to urge you to book her; she even brought in our pkgs from outside so they wouldn’t sit on the porch and refrigerated the ones that needed to be kept cool. On top of that she washed the bedding which she slept on and left us next to nothing to do when we got home except unpack. We will definitely be booking with her again.”

About: I have came across every dog you can imagine! Because of my previous work in a dog daycare I have learned more than enough on how to handle them. I have had my own dog for 5 plus years and various other animals as well! I go to University three days a week but I'm mostly a homebody! I spend the majority of my time at home. In that time, I can do all kinds of enrichment activities with pets! Playtime, a walk, Swims in a kiddie pool! I do not have a fenced in yard but I always keep dogs on a leash when outside or I let them play in my large kennel fence/cage for a bit! I will always be there to keep an eye on them! And they'll never be out for more than 1-1.5 hours at a time.
“Kristen watched our sweet boy (dog) while we were away for the weekend and stayed at our house. She took great care of him, left the house in mint condition and sent frequent updates to keep us informed. Would definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a little girl. I always shower dogs with so much love & my annoying baby voice haha. I absolutely adore dogs. I am very flexible with my schedule since I am a student in college taking online courses ! I am available on evenings & weekends. I care for my pets with lots of toys & treats! When it’s time to go potty, I use a leash for my dog due to living in the city with no fence or backyard.
About: I have always been the person my family and friends go to when it comes to pet sitting. Im responsible and follow instructions to a T. I enjoy meeting new animals (especially cats, cat naps are the best) and giving you peace of mind while you are on vacation. I have sat with chihuahuas, yorkies, shitzus, beagles, huskies, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German shepherds and Chows for my family and friends. I don’t discriminate 🥰 I work a full time job in nashville 5 days a week. My shifts are 7-8 hours long. I prefer to house/pet sit because it keeps me from driving all over and allows more time taking care of your pet and less stress on myself. When I house/pet sit I ask for a schedule and normal daily activities. Every pet has a different routine. I follow the routine given to ease the stress on your dog/cat
“Erika took superb care of our elder dog, Allie! Our house was also well taken care of so clean when we got home. I highly recommend Erika to sit for all the pets! We will be contacting Erika again to sit for our girl ❤️”

FAQs for House Sitting - Cumberland City
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 256 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cumberland City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cumberland City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cumberland City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cumberland City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cumberland City. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
