Mariah was such an amazing pupsitter! She watched our 14 year old labradoodle and our 5 month older bernedoodle for 2 weeks. We received frequent updates from Mariah and knew that our babies were in good hands. We would highly recommend Mariah to you for any of your petsitting needs!

About: I have taken care of pets since I moved back to CO and love to get back to helping out families and their pets too. I am currently working part time. My job allows breaks to run home if need be and if not dogs are welcome at my work place. I don’t have a yard but love walking or going to the park. I am willing to stay at a client’s home as well too.

Claire watched our pups for a day while we visited ouray. We were able to go for a long hike, enjoy orvis hot springs and have a meal without worrying about our senior girl and our 8 month old puppy. She was sweet with them and I would absolutely book her again if we are in town.

Highly recommend Stuart! He took great care of our dog while we were away for a long trip- lots of hiking, playing, and interacting with her. Great at sending updates our way during the stay. Our dog is sometimes shy with new people and she warmed up right away with Stuart.

About: Hi my name is Anthony, and I’ve been in the Aspen/Vail Valley for 11 years. I’ve always enjoyed taking care of my family’s dogs and cats growing up. I have a 12 year old Bichon that has been with me since college! I have taken care of numerous friends dogs in Vail over the years. I am a contractor and make my own schedule so I am readily available! I am able to give your animals any medicine they require. I’m always flexible to change my schedule to help with your needs! I am very respectful of the customers home, and try to make the dog feel confortable without their owner present. I am not taking in house customers at the moment.

Maria was amazing! She house-sat for us while we were away for a long weekend. We have three dogs and she took such great care of them! She communicated well, sent plenty of photos and updates, and was very respectful of our home. I had seen that she was highly recommended from others in the area, and now I know why - we will definitely be booking with her again in the future! Thanks so much, Maria!

About: I've always grown up with dogs and have been a dog lover my whole life. I have been house sitting and animal sitting for about 10 years now. I love spending time with dogs and making sure they're still happy while their parents are away! This is a win-win situation for both of us because your dog will be well taken care of, and I get to play with it! All fun aside, I do make sure to pay close attention and take care of each dog's individual needs. Everybody's unique so that will always be taken into account. Let me know what you need and I will make sure to help! I'm also a big fan of exercise so if you've got a dog that loves to run, lets run! I have a very open schedule, most of the time I only work at night and rarely for more than 6 hours. I can usually adjust my schedule as needed. Depending on the dog, I always take extra steps to guarantee that they stay safe. Whether that means taking extra note to make sure all doors to rooms are closed, foods are high out of reach, etc.

About: I’ve been caring for fur babies since I graduated high school, giving both puppies and senior dogs the special attention they need. I love animals of every shape and size and treat them like my own—because let’s be honest, they run the household anyway. Your pet will get a happy, stress-free stay with plenty of love, snuggles, and top-tier spoiling. I work a full-time job during the day, but I’m available for drop-ins and visits in the late afternoons and evenings. I’m also free all day on Sundays, as well as one select weekday depending on my schedule. If you communicate your needs ahead of time, I’ll always do my best to make it happen. Your fur baby’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I come to your home so your pet can stay in their favorite place, surrounded by familiar smells and routines. I follow your instructions carefully and keep your home secure, tidy, and respected. You’ll always get clear updates so you know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

About: I've cared for animals my whole life: dogs, cats, rats, parrots, fish, and more. Right now I share my home with three senior cats I adore, so I'm right at home with pets who need a little extra patience, a medication schedule, or just someone who reads their quirks and knows when 'she's hiding' means she's fine and when it doesn't. Whatever your pet needs, I've got it covered: feeding and fresh water, meds and pills (even the sneaky ones), playtime and walks, litter and cleanup, and overnight stays so they're never alone. I'm reliable, I show up when I say I will, and I'll send you photos and updates so you can actually relax while you're away. I'm always happy to start with a meet-and-greet so you and your pet can get comfortable with me before booking anything. Tell me your pet's routine and I'll keep it exactly the way they like it. Senior pets, anxious pets, shy pets, high-energy pets, and the occasional exotic are all welcome. I'd love to help take care of your best friend like they're my own. I do part-time software work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time for pet care throughout the day. Since I'm home for much of the day, I can handle midday visits, feedings, and check-ins that a 9-to-5 sitter can't. I'm available for morning and evening care, overnight stays at your place, and drop-ins during the day. Just tell me your pet's routine and we'll find a rhythm that works for both of us. In your home, I respect your space completely. I follow your instructions to the letter, keep doors and gates secured, stick to your pet's normal routine, and leave things exactly the way I found them. I'll send photos and updates at each visit so you always know your pet is safe, fed, and happy. I'm careful with the little things that matter: locking up when I leave, bringing in mail or packages if you'd like, and watching for anything off with your pet's behavior or health so I can flag it early. If something ever comes up, you'll hear from me right away. Above all, I treat every pet like my own and every home like I'd want mine treated, with care, respect, and attention to detail.

Hope was a wonderful, professional, and detailed pet sitter. Autumn was basking in the sun happy as a clam when I got home. Autumn has some anxiety and doggy boarding is very stressful for her so it is great to be able to know she is at home way more comfortable and well taken care of. I will definitely be hiring Hope again.

About: I love pets and I am happy to care for them while thier owners are away. I know how stressful it can be to leave your best friends behind when you have to leave town. I provide excellent care and comfort for your pets. I cared for my family dog, Maggie, for 10 years. She was a high energy blue heeler with Cushing's disease and big anxious heart. I also adore cats. I adopted a one-eyed senior cat with a bad hip, Sebastian, in 2020, and he lived out the rest of his days being loved and cared for by me. Now I have two younger cats, Ruthie and Atlas. I work from home. This is why house sitting works best for me. I can care for you pets constantly throughout the day as they need. I am very careful to keep pets safe around cars and other dogs. I understand how scary it can be to let someone else care for your pet and I will be dedicated to keeping them happy and safe.

About: I have grown up with always having animals around. I have lived on multiple farms, and have volunteered with several animal sanctuaries, including one for wildlife in Costa Rica. I also have spent the last five years fostering animals with the Humane society as I lived in Asheville and completed my schooling. Through this experience, I have worked with neonatal newborns, pregnant and nursing mothers, potty training- ages, senior pets, and those who take medication. As I create this account, I am traveling and petsitting on the road. My schedule is very flexible because of this, and so I am open to long or short stays. Every animal is unique, and I love to get to know their personalities and preferences! It is my goal to ensure that animal and animal parent both are happy and comfortable.

FAQs for House Sitting - Crystal

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 164 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Crystal. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crystal walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crystal maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crystal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Crystal. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
